One of the favorite books to read to my children... the 28 page version... not the 12 page extra chuncky. I am trying to recreate the rhyme since there are no longer any copies available.
Quiet it a moth flapping it's wings
Quiet is mocking bird after it sings
...
...
Quiet is the star,
Quiet is the brook,
Quiet are you when you close this book.
could someone let us know what is in the middle. I want to pass it on to my grandchildren.
Thanks,

There's nothing better than the quiet. Katharine Ross' The Little Quiet Book is a great bedtime story for younger children getting ready for bedtime. Each page in this quiet book always has something random and eye-popping illustrations for children to enjoy and experience. From texts to illustrations, Ross makes her books short, easy, and understandable. There's not a better serene picture book for kids than The Little Quiet Book.

Looking at the cover of the book, it has a very peaceful bedroom picture view of a silent neighborhood getting ready to go to bed. The size of the book is as small as a huge stack of post-its and can fit in a little child's hands. This book was definitely for smaller children because of the thickness of the paper and the one to two sentences on each page. Ross begins her book by telling her readers what quiet is like. Her similes are great examples of what is and isn't quiet. The illustrations throughout the book are very calm and the animals on each of the page look very childish and innocent, The darker blue and black colors give the book a nighttime sleepy mood. Ross uses repetition of "Quiet is..." to repeat to children what quiet really is. At the beginning and the ending of the Little Quiet Book, the book is an AAB rhyme scheme. The middle of the book is just couplets like "Quiet is a moth with its wings, quiet is a mockingbird after it sings." Ross ends her novel with a onomatopoeia (hush) to present the quiet in the distant night. This is a perfect bedtime picture book for parents to read to smaller children!
