I was inspired to read this book based on the character Whendy Rhoades from the Netflix series Billions. Apparently, her character is loosely based on Dr. Kiev. To me, the book was entry-level cognitive-behavioral-therapy type stuff, self-help, in the context of stock trade. It is good to review the big ideas; (1) How am I feeling? (2) What stimulus triggered this feeling? (3) How am I reacting and how are these reactions predetermined by historical patterns of behavior? In other words, mindfulness. I was hoping to find an original idea or new insight or fresh synthesis - maybe I missed it!?

A refreshing read about trading psychology, risk management, pain and loss management, etc.

I’ve learnt that trading in the zone involves being in the feeling that you’re in control of whatever is happening, not blaming external factors for losses and knowing how to recover from such losses.

Great read, highly recommended for everyone looking to improve their trading skills.

Good psychology is the key to doing anything successfully, particularly for activities that involve a lot of stress and risks, such as equity trading. To my surprise, this book touches on quite some psychological experiences one goes through as a trader. It would resonate well with both newbies and masters. Good topics to reflect on - if one wants to be a successful, and more importantly, happy and calm trader.
