The drawings are really beautiful. So full of colour and details. I love how the world and characters are presented and make it feel like your are being transported to another world.
At the beginning of the story I felt a little confused since nothing is really explained. It takes a little while before everything is explained and it al makes more sense.
The pace of the story felt a little of it’s really fast and this does not give you a lot of time to get used to the world, events that are happening or get connected to the characters.
However I do feel that it has potential and I am curious to see were this story goes from here. I did like one character Loan, who is one of the main characters. He was fun, courageous and interesting. The other characters felt a little shallow to me.
Overall an okay book, not amazing, but a fun and quick read with beautiful drawings.

3,5 Sterne. Die Zeichnungen sind wunderschön. Die Welt ist interessant und faszinierend. Aber alles wird doch zu schnell erzählt und es ist nicht immer einfach mitzukommen.

Pretty art, but the pacing was too fast and it feels very rushed, which is a shame.

The drawings were stunning - especially the colours were mesmerizing. Unfortunately the story and the dialogue were nothing special.

Read it for the third time now and still love it as much as at the first time.
I met two of the artists in 2011 at the book fair and they drew something for me in the book. So my copy is pretty special! Great people working on it and I can't wait for book three coming out soon!
