About the author

Jacquelin Thomas is an award-winning, best selling author with 94 titles published. Her books have garnered several awards, including two EMMA awards, the Romance In Color Reviewers Award, Readers Choice Award and the Atlanta Choice Award in the Religious & Spiritual category. Jacquelin was a 2005 honoree at the Houston Black Film Festival for the movie adaptation of her novel, Hidden Blessings. She was the first recipient to receive the Writers Achievement Award at the North Carolina Book Festival in Winston-Salem. She also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Romantic Times Magazine.

Jacquelin has published in the romance, women's fiction, inspirational and young adult genres. Her second book in the YA series, Divine Confidential was nominated for a 2008 NAACP Image Award.

Jacquelin is happily married to her best friend and is the proud mother of three children. Jacquelin and her family live in North Carolina.

This was really a poor ending to the Hopewell General series. I didn't read the first book, but read the middle two which were good. This story had potential, but the writing was just so mediocre. Camille and Maxwell really had no chemistry, and the dialogue between them was just so juvenile. I often had to think to myself, how old are these two again. The love scenes had no descriptive details. They were along the line of "and they started making love and it was wonderful." There were also a few errors in this book which I am surprised Harlequin let through. It seems like an editor really dropped the ball on this one. I would definitely say skip it.

Camille and Maxwell met at work. She does PR for the hospital. He was hired as legal counsel in a big case the hospital is involved in. They were immediately taken with each other. They had a whirlwind relationship.
I enjoyed this series a lot. I couldn't give this book five stars because a minor continuity issue that pulled me out of the story. Overall this was a good book.

What an incredible ending to "Hopewell General. I have enjoyed the three authors that contributed with an author that I'm familiar with. I have just added them to my list which is growing. The love story," Case of Desire" is a great themed work. Loved the sweetness!

Lovely Book!

I truly enjoyed this book. It held my interest. I wanted to read a bit everyday.

It was cute. I enjoyed the subtle intimate scenes - nothing too detailed at all. Refreshing!

I was real nervous about reading the story, after reading some of the reviews. I will say I don't totally disagree with some of the comments. It was not horrible, it was just okay. It wasn't a lack of details during sex that was an issue for me, because I don't need to the details to feel the chemistry and emotions between characters. I struggled to get a feel for the chemistry between Camille and Maxwell. Chemistry is not about getting sexual, its about feeling a connection. The words were on the page, but the feeling was missing. The big build up in all of the other stories regarding the Terrence Matthews lawsuit was simply glossed over in the story, which was a big disappointment.
The affair between Nurse Tsang and Dr. Dudley was not really dealt with. This story probably would have better in the middle of the series, however it just didn't do justice to the build up in the other books. I feel as though Ms. Thomas wrote a book to fulfill her contractual obligation, however she remained detached from the series. It seems that Ms Thomas didn't connect with her characters. She is a gifted writer, when writing about what she is passionate about, however it is important to be able to stretch yourself to connect with all your characters. The writer's job is to make me care about the characters and their story. Ms Thomas failed to do that.

Let me start by saying the only reason I purchased this book is because I have read the first three books in the series and loved them all. This book was a HUGE disappointment. The quality of writing as well as the writing style is so sophomoric and cumbersome to read that I had a difficult time getting through the book. Additionally, there were several very basic editing errors that were distracting and frustratiting to read. Several times the author referred to a character by the wrong name, there were several facts from previous books in the series that were misstated, and there were spelling and grammar errors throughout. This was the first (and probably last) book that I have read by Ms. Thomas, and I was sadly disappointed.

Mediocre book. I had high expectations for the conclusion of the Hopewell general series. Not only was I disappointed but I felt that the book lacked too many details. Maxwell and Camille's relationship progressed too quickly and lacked a basic foundation along with passion. I also thought that Matthews case wasn't elaborated enough. I would've liked to also see Dudley brought up on sexual harassment. Over all the series was pleasant. Maureen Smith's Romancing the M.D was the best read.

This last installment of the Hopewell General series was a let down. After the third installment written by Maureen Smith, I was expecting the last one to be filled with explicit details not just about the romance, but the case against Terrence Matthews as well...and I didn't get that. I was very disappointed. I would have loved to know the outcome of all the couples by the last one, but didn't get that either.

This book is for those who considers themselves true romantics. From the beginning of this story the main character Camille finds Maxwell who appears to be the man of her dreams. The question I had was whether she would fit into the life of a man which so many other women craved. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend adding it to your reading list.

I enjoyed the book, it had a really good hero and heroine but it somehow felt incomplete or rushed.  I expected a more in depth look into Maxwell and Camille but it felt like that was missing.  The author tells a good story nonetheless.

Because it's a really really really awesome book the only thing I didn't like is Kendra coming to Virginia and trying to force Maxwell back in to her life
