I received this book to be the first on this site to review it. Overall, it outperformed my expectations, with me giving it 3.5 stars, rounded to 4 since you can only do whole stars.

The story is definitely interesting, and you can feel the time period. In that same vain, some of the characters seem like they were written today, but not in a great way? More like, 'I am trying to show you this person is from the 40s' type of way, but maybe people were just actually like that back then.
The main character is enjoyable, and she has interesting inner dialogue, although she is way too favorable to annoying Nancy. I liked the perspective of a character that is smart, doesn't know everything, and is pretty sure of what she knows and doesn't. It feels like there are appropriate amounts of dramatic irony and suspense that made me want to keep reading. I'm honored to be the first reviewer, and would actually recommend the book if you happen to come across it.
