Legend #0.5

Prince in the Mist

Rate this book
Fact one: By tradition and treaty, Fae do not interfere with the human world—it is against the rules.

Fact two: For a Royal Fae prince who suffers from the ennui of immortality, watching and interacting with humans—especially lovely, spirited human females—can be entertaining.

Fact three: When entertainment changes to affection, and affection becomes love, rules will be broken.

His name is Breslyn, Prince of Dagda of the Tuatha Dé. He is a royal Fae, immortal and endowed with more than eye candy looks. He is a being with immeasurable powers but life for him lacked something—so he looked around, and found... humans.

Watching their lives and interactions, from another dimension filled him with feelings he had thought long lost in the ennui of immortality. The more he watched--the more addicted to their antics he became. An affection for the human race grew inside the heart Fae are not supposed to have, and it was inevitable that he began to have preferences with regards to them.

In 1314, when Scotland’s rule was in jeopardy and the British were about to take more than they should, he chose a side--and then he saw her, and nothing would ever be the same for the prince ever again…

I rated this book 3 stars, not because it was a mediocre read, and no, I didn’t feel indifferent toward it either. In fact, it was a good read overall. This is totally my own fault. I read the blurb and liked the sound of it. I didn't even check out any reviews before diving into it. As much as I love reading about sexy Highlanders, I have to admit that I'm personally not too fond of medieval romances. So, when I found out that this paranormal romance story took place in Scotland during the Middle Ages, I felt my initial excitement of reading it beginning to ebb away. I fairly struggled with some parts of this story and they caused me not to be able to enjoy the whole story as much as I expected. Anyway, there were many things about this book that I found riveting, like the writing or the characters or even the pace.

What really did work for me about this book is the hero, Breslyn, a Royal Fae. He had me at “ You are mine, and I make my declaration to you. ” Aww… I fell in love with this hero instantly. He said “mine” and this word is my kryptonite, not to mention he’s a Fae prince! Possessive hero? Yes, yes, yes, whatever, I’m in!

However, despite the fact that Breslyn ticked all my right boxes and I really enjoyed the romance between both main and secondary couples, I had one big problem with the ending. There was no HEA!

Since I was displeased with the epilogue, I’m not sure if I will continue with the series.

By the way, my opinion of this book is based on my personal taste. Please don’t let my review discourage you from trying it.

This first in the Prince Breslyn novella trilogy is a great companion/addition to Claudy Conn's Legend series.

For those familiar with the Legend series, this quick read tells the story of Prince Breslyn and Chartelle, his "first human love" back in 1314 Scotland.

Those who haven't had a chance to read the Legend yet, will find this to be a quick insight into Bres as well as an introduction to some of the characters who are the ancestors of those appearing in the series. Since the Legend series takes place, for the most part, in present day, the reader doesn't need to know anything about the series to enjoy this novella.

Breslyn, sexy bad boy Fae prince, rule breaker, a favorite of the Fae queen, is "phenomenal of mind and body" - just ask him, he'll tell ya himself. He also has a heart of gold, is loyal and faithful, if a bit arrogant and spoiled.

Chartelle is "an exceptional beauty [who] captured [Bres'] breath", twenty, married for convenience for the past three years and after producing a son, her husband, whose taste is for males, left the marriage bed. Her husband is also a traitor to Scotland. Bres wants her, promises the demise of her traitorous husband and awakens Chartelle's sensuality.

Storm, Chartelle's brother, and Alexis provide even more romance for the story. My goodness does Storm move fast and Alexis lets him even though she yet keeps a secret from him.

Gorgeous Danté, Royal Fae Prince of Lugh, makes a cameo appearance near the end.

Includes previews from the first book in Claudy's Shadow Vampire series and her Legend series:
"Like sexy vampires? Meet Damon from Shadowheart—Slayer "
Grogeous Fae, Druids and the humans they love more your style? Spellbound—Legend

I am eagerly awaiting the next novella in this trilogy to see what other goodies can be found in Breslyn's past.

Fans of paranormal romance, fantasy romance and Conn's Legend series should enjoy this novella.

Sweet Satisfaction
It happens. Once in a great while a character is born into literature that is so richly interesting one simply can't get enough of him. In the world of romance novels, Breslyn, Fae Prince of Dagda, is one such character. Introduced to us first through Claudy Conn's Legend series, Breslyn quickly became a character that enlivened interest and inspired fantasy beyond his intended role in the overall series. With Puckish mischief he disregards the rules of human-Fae engagement to tickle and tease Claudy's heroines and readers temptingly. We are intrigued by his interest in us, intrigued that for him we are more than a mad distraction or passing fancy. He is loyal but rebellious, a warrior who loves humans enough to risk his queen's disfavor by entangling himself in their lives and struggles. If you, like I, have fantasized about being seduced by this golden Fae you will not be disappointed. Claudy satisfies her fans' deepest desires to experience more of one of her most beloved heroes by taking us back in time to explore and discover Breslyn's early heroic and romantic exploits.

In 'Prince In The Mists,' Claudy gives us not one but two romances, set in the era of English-Scotland conflict, before the tides of history turned in favor of Robert de Bruce and his Scotsmen. Breslyn digs himself right into the thick of things, aiding the Scottish by bringing the Knights Templar -guardians of many sacred Fae hallows, and Robert de Bruce together against the British.

Claudy opens the novella with the romance of Breslyn and Chartelle -Lady Dumfires. Political scheming, spies and ne'r-do-wells, add spice and intrigue to their passion. Stricken by her beauty and gentle nature, Breslyn sets out to free Chartelle from a marriage of convenience to the traitor Francis Bothe -Laird Dumfries. Trapped in a loveless marriage, Chartelle finds a champion and lover in Breslyn's strong arms. Can Breslyn free Chartelle and stop Bothe's traitorous machinations, without ruining her life, or breaking any of the Fae laws governing interference in human destiny? Claudy's scenes of passion between these two are enough to make your toes curl, but it is her gentle touch on the strings of your heart that will satisfy you long after the story has ended.

Also woven through the mists is the romance of Breslyn's friend and Chartelle's brother, the Druid Priest and Laird of Belfor, Storm MacLean. Alexis of Waverly has come in disguise seeking refuge at Belfor. Keeper of secrets and a possible spy, Alexis poses a double problem for Storm. Her father has been murdered and her lands confiscated by the British sympathizer, Lord Comyn. Storm is torn between suspicion that she may be a plant of his enemies and the burning need to make her his own. Alexis is everything the young Scottish Laird would have in a companion and in his bed. If only he could trust her, but his instincts tell him she is keeping secrets. Whether these secrets are her own or those of another he does not know. It only matters that she is his heart's burning desire.

Claudy's knowledge of the era, lore and history give this novel a depth of color and excitement that is undeniable. Prepare to be swept away.

ARC for Review!! Claudy Conn has done it again! The world is chockful of romance, betrayal, action and more. Perfectly paced making for a easy read. The main characters are awesome making it a wonderful read, even the supporting characters have their own story within. This short story really gives a deeper look into Breslyn and the mischievousness his character can be.

In Prince in the Mist we find Breslyn, a tall, gorgeous Royal Fae Prince going against the grain of the Fae laws. He is captivated by the lovely human, Chartelle at first sight and rules be damned. He is compassionate, yet, brutal when situations call for it.

Chartelle, is a young woman with a problematic life of her own, yet, she cannot nor does not want to stay away from Breslyn. Thus the lovin' begins.

I recommend this erotic short for the 18+ readers who like erotic Fae reads.

Well, we had a quick glimpse into our Fae Prince of Dagda (Breslyn)and his antics in 'Prince-Prelude', but we get to know him much better in this short story "Prince in the Mist" and what a naughty boy he is. This story is part of the Legend series by Claudy Conn, which delves more into his life and the love of his first human,Chartelle.

I absolutely loved this short story of our very hot, handsome, naughty and mischievous Prince. Although it was a short story it was not rushed and was so well written it felt to me I was like reading a full book.

The love scenes between our hero and heroine are smoking hot and the story will bring tears to your eyes as the love story progresses between Breslyn and Chartelle.

I cannot wait to delve into the next issue is this amazing series.

Thank you once again, Claudy for another awesome story.

Prince in the Mist by Claudy Conn
Prince Breslyn’s Memoirs
Royal Fae Prince Breslyn of the Tuatha De Danaan, Royal House of Dagda, has decided to write his memoirs by the urging of his wife, Ete. He begins his tale in 1314, where he once again goes against the rules of Fae to interfere in the human world….boredom you know. He is a part of a waging war, siding with Robert the Bruce of Scotland against the Brits. He is part of the MacClean’s life, Storm and his sister Chartelle along with Alexis of Waverly. He falls in love with the beautiful Chartelle and her young son John, even though she is married at the time. And a human.

This tale covers about twenty years or so, human years, a novella. For Breslyn that is but a blink of the eye. Several stories are happening such as the war, Alexis's story, traitors, kidnappers and more. The Legend Series has Breslyn popping in and out of the stories, vying for the human women’s attention at times and usually breaking the Fae laws. This book comes after the five Legend books and looks back over some of his past dealings with the humans. Prince Prelude continues Breslyn’s tale five hundred years later in 1814.

My thoughts: The first word I saw when I started to read this was, Breslyn. He has always been a favorite character of mine, so this story was an excellent read. Even the side characters had a deep story that pulled me in.

The Review:
We have Breslyn the Fae prince, and we get to meet his first human love. Going more into his head we get to see the wickedness of him to. Chartelle is the female, or Breslyn’s female in this story. She’s the human who bring out the other personality in him. Then Claudy was able to have the secondary characters merge and create a story. Alexis and Storm both see each other once and the hidden secrets make them weary of the other. Their story is love at first site. Their fire lit up the book even as they argued with the other, until finally their fire turns into a passion of love.
This short romance is a wonderful development of our princes earlier life that we don’t get to know in the longer novels of this series. By the end of the book I was in a emotion filled pit.

I was given this book in return for an honest review. Wow, this book packed a lot of punch for a novella. This is a story of Fae prince Breslyn from his perspective. Breslyn meats and falls for human, Chartelle, whose brother, Storm is due to be the next Druid Priest. They are in the middle of a war against the Brits and Bres is to be a guardian to Storm. Chartelle is already married and has a son with a pedophile whom she loathes and who is also a traitor to the Scots. Breslyn has to find a way to get rid of her husband, among others, without breaking Seelie laws by killing a human. He has a lot to do, protecting Storm and the girl he is falling for and trying to figure out how to be with the married Chartelle and still do his duty in Fae. I actually cried reading this novella. Wonderful.

I just finished this book and I LOVED it!! This is the first book that I have read in the Legend series and I can't wait to read the rest. This story had me from the first sentence, which is what all of Claudy's stories do. She is such an amazing author and has a way of pulling you into the story. Her descriptions seem so real that you can't help but feel like you are there, among all of the wonderful worlds/characters that she creates. I fell in love with Breslyn while reading this book and I can't wait to see how the story continues to unfold. Thanks Claudy for yet another AMAZING book. :)

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Prince Breslyn is a Fae Prince who knows what he wants and how to get it, and when he sets his sights on Chartelle he makes it happen!! This is a beautifully written story and the characters are so easy to fall in love with! I will have to admit the Epilogue really threw me for a loop but man does it have me anxious to read the rest of the series and see what the author has in store next!!!

This story is about Breslyn The Royal Fae Prince of Dagda and he has always enjoyed watching humans.
And although it is against the rules to interfere with them he has fallen deeply for a human by the name of Chartelle.
She is married with a son but her husband doesnt touch her he prefers young boys.
Well rules be damned he will have Chartelle or will he? She is his first human love ..
Such a romantic fairytale that’s how I view this book..

Amazingly Hot and Magical!!!! What can I say? Claudy has done it again. I have read many of Claudy Conn's books and find each one better than last. She is making it more and more difficult to pick a favorite book written by her. Every book is my favorite from this wonderful writer. Prince in the Mist was not only hot and sexy, but it was filled with romance and magical place you only dream about. I love how descriptive Claudy writes all of her books. You actually feel as if you are in the book and feeling the characters emotions firsthand. And let's talk about feeling of another kind. Prince Breslyn is not only hot but possessive as well. Just how I like them. Chartelle was a heroine that I loved as well. Beautiful, loving, and even a little heart-broken, but still managed to be strong enough to know what she wanted in her life. Thank goodness I have more of Claudy's book that I can read. She has become one of my favorite authors and will definitely become one of yours as well. Prince in the Mist along with all of this author's books are a must read.

This is part of the Legend series by Claudy Conn which is a series I tried by error but am so very glad that I did.

Breslyn is a favourite of mine from reading Spellbound and I'm glad to have this chance to get to know him a bit more. Although this is a short story it doesn't feel rushed in any way. It is interesting to re-see history as written with the Fae's help!

A short story with some steam that helps to fill in the gaps of this series. I really enjoy Claudy Conn's style of writing.

This book is both adult and supernatural, make sure it's your thing before getting into this book as it's one of about 10.

The story begins when a Fae Prince go against his queens rules and mixes with humans, he falls in love with one and must protect her and her son from her husband along with their neighboring cousin who's father was killed and she is in hiding.

This was one of my first SN books and i quickly bought more however i'm well aware not everyone likes them and there is a fine line between getting it right and getting it very wrong, i felt Claudy got it right and have followed more works because of it.

I still don't quite have the order of these books down, but at least reading this one out of order didn't interfere with my enjoyment of the main series.

This book delves into Prince Breslyn of Dagda (Fae Royal Prince) relationship and fascination with Chartrelle. He thinks of her from time to time in other books, and this story shows how he became personally involved with the MacLean clan and the war for Scotland's freedom from the British in the time of Robert the Bruce.

Fun, a little steamy (as always with Breslyn), and a juicy mystery besides.
