I don't know what hiroya oku is preparing for real, this is taking so long and it feels like we are in between big events.
Tae chan escapes and join a new group of survivors which are threatened now by a couple giants and two of their kids.
Takeshi and nishi get into a fight with creatures, that were trying to invade the gantz room, and nishi saved takeshi!!! Wow i didn't know he had it in him and i think he might be trying to take down the ship as well.
The gantz team have been transferred somewhere with weird creatures all around them, and it looks like its going to be a brawl before they can get out of there.
The other kei kurono is with the giant woman trying to figure out where tae chan is so he can try and save here.

Are we really expected to believe that the world's governments would be promoting claims of peace that quickly after a clear and massively destructive invasion, with entire nations destroyed? The aliens were rounding up thousands of people and butchering them for food, and now within what appears to be a matter of hours, there is a peace agreement. And what about the people that were behind the Gantz project in the first place, which must have been trillions of dollars to implement, and required massive coordination across the world, and now they just turn around and label as terrorists all the people they've trained. Something just doesn't add up here. But then this is manga, and it's over-the-top fantasy, so does it need to make sense? I guess not.

This is a review of the entire series.

Synopsis: Gantz tells the story of a teenager named Kei Kurono, among others, who die but find themselves brought back in perfectly healthy bodies and forced to participate in a "game" where they must hunt down and kill aliens.

Review: I almost gave up on Gantz several times, but now that I've read it all the way to the end, I'm glad I stuck with it. The beginning is dragged down by repulsive and unlikable characters, a messily paced story, unnecessary sexualization and gratuitous violence without much substance. As it progresses, however, the character development becomes pretty incredible and the growing threat of the enemies feels truly well done. Once the real enemies are revealed, it's mind-blowing how the series had been secretly foreshadowing their arrival from the very beginning.

Although it takes a while, some really good characters are introduced later on in the series and they're the ones that made me want to read to the end. Some characters that were absolutely unbearable in the beginning became polar opposites of their original selves and even made me sympathize with them quite a bit. The protagonist Kei for example, I hated him with all my heart for the first third of the series, he became progressively more likable in the second third of the story and then he evolved into one of the most memorable, unlikely heroes I've ever seen in this storytelling medium throughout the final third. The last third of the series is unbelievably terrifying with some of the most gruesome and disgusting battle/survival scenes in the history of fiction. It's much more bearable and intense in the final third because this time the violence and horror is happening to people we actually care about instead of a bunch of unlikable nobodies.

The final third of the story is what made me feel so glad that I didn't give up on this series. It had me on the edge of my seat more times than I can recall. There are a ton of chapters but they're very short and full of action which makes the series a quick read despite having almost 400 chapters. So even though the first third of the story was kinda bad in my opinion, it doesn't last for long and the payoff that comes after it's over truly impressed me. It's a flawed, thrilling and horrifying action series that takes a while to kick off. When it finally kicks off, however, it kicks off extremely hard.

The plight of Tae's kidnapping starts to feel pretty dragged out. And Tae seems to have just gotten the "invulnerability" treatment where, wherever she goes, others around her will die and she just miraculously and mysteriously survives, delivering her implied message of the human cruelty. And of course, the purpose for Kurono in coming after her, otherwise, you know, Kurono could actually be helping his team save more people, lol. Nishi gets a spotlight too, since he's not the type to help people, he stayed behind. Somehow the aliens know about the black balls (how?!) and have hacked it (how?!) and sent giant insects to attack it. Nishi... grows a little conscience. Oh no, is this the Izumi treatment? I keep expecting him to die but he hasn't yet. And no word on the group of men controlling the balls.

Gantz/32 is about changes. They are taking on aliens but we are not sure who the bad guys are, where they are and how many different scenarios there are. Also, Gantz is hacked and the suits don't protect our heroes. Gantz is about a group of recently dead humans who are selected to fight aliens in a group of confrontations where they are protected by black suits and can score points to go back to their old lives, get extra weapons or resurrect others. It is an interesting series and the art work is excellent.
