When old Sam Bovard confronted Marshal Evan Stannard, a stranger suddenly appeared and Bovard lay dying - killed, some said, by his estranged son James. Then a bushwhacker shot at the marshal and injured James' own son, and the hunt for him was on. That was where Lee Bovard, James' niece, came in.
