A collection of essays on the much troubled, but brilliant record maker Phil Spector. The first essay in the book by Nik Cohn is the best of the lot. Cohn's a brilliant journalist/writer and the 'king of mod' captures the dark undertow of Spector's work. Also thrown in is an interesting interview with Ronnie Spector and some eyewitness accounts of being in the studio with Spector doing his magic. Essential book for the Spector manic, and one now waits for the Phil Spector 'Album' box set to come out.
