Loved this. Liriel’s spirit drives this adventure! Watching her grow, discover and learn are really the joys of this book. It really is reminiscent of Drizzt’s journey in some ways. This book is a must if you’re into Forgotten Realms… can’t wait to read the rest of this trilogy.

Amazing! Couldn't put it down! While Salvatore's works are more power fantasy with strong focus on a few characters, Cunningham offers a view of the underdark that holds the drow cruelty with their elven beauty in a spellbinding balanced. Every character felt real and filled with shades of gray while giving a more detailed look at the personality of different gods, interplay of sword coast politics, and varied landscape that will help any DM in their lore / gameplay. For the non-DMs, not only are there epic sword fights, but also great read for seeing how a soft magic system can be used to inspire awe in a classical fantasy kind of read.
