Rate this book
Who has time nowadays to put in the graft to succeed? And why bother, when the truly important things in life only take a quarter of an hour to master? Here, Tom Cutler proves that following the path to becoming disgustingly rich, stylish, intelligent, thin, happy, classy, successful and a legend in the bedroom need take no longer than it does to cut your toenails, or listen to The Archers. Learn how to become as popular as your dog. Which sports car suits your personality? How to work out the date of your death. Are you a genius? With Tom Cutler's help you will soon find inner perfection and hugely impress your family, friends and work colleagues. From the author of the brilliant A Gentleman's Bedside Book , this is a hilariously funny but deeply practical guide to self-improvement.

Tom Cutler is a bestselling British author. After a curious career in book and magazine publishing, and having built up a lifetime's scar tissue, he decided to launch himself as a humorous writer upon a reading public that had done nothing to hurt him.

Tom's books cover a variety of subjects, including language, sex, and music. Among his several international bestsellers are, A Gentleman's Bedside Book and the Amazon number-one blockbuster, 211 Things A Bright Boy Can Do. His work has been translated into several languages.

Tom is a practising magician and member of the Magic Circle, as well as a longstanding Sherlock Holmes aficionado. He has always known that there is something strange about the way he relates to the world, but it was only in 2016, at the age of 56, that he was formally identified as being on the autism spectrum. This, he says, was the happiest day of his life.

His latest book, Keep Clear: my adventures with Asperger's, is out now.

You won't be a genius, or a gentleman, or even slightly more knowledgeable about anything remotely worthwhile by this messy collection of tosh. You probably will feel very stupid for paying £2.99 for it in the bargain basement bin. A waste of paper.

I don't actually think this book is as bad as its current star rating. Its another one of those QI type books full of little snip-its of interesting information

I could not have sat down and read this is one go, but it is very good as a second or third book to fill a spare few moments when you haven't got time to read a full chapter. It is informative, marginally funny, and entertaining. The ebook I had had a few proofing errors, but other than that, I think that this book was good and well worth the £0.99 I paid for it!

A book of general (and mostly useless) knowledge designed to make a man's conversation sound more learned and interesting. Also includes some pointers for good conversation and succeeding in business.

Liked it okay. Perhaps I just expected the gentleman they envisaged to be a bit more of a... em... gentleman.

Favourite part: some of the anti-'how to' advice at the beginning.

There are sections that provoke genuine interest, but for the majority of this text I had to fight the boredom. The author's asides and attempts at reflexive humour are very distracting and contribute to the disinterest at times.

However, some good topics are to be found and some fine information is imparted.

The first section of this book was one of the least funny meant-to-be-funny things I've ever read. But it got better as it went on. Neither brilliant nor terrible - Tom Cutler just isn't anywhere near as funny as he thinks he is.
