Allie Casey has left Oklahoma, leaving behind her personal journal. Abel finds his sister's journal an intimate insight to Arien's seduction of his sister Allie. In her own words, Allie describes what it was like to meet a vampire and her unknown addiction of vampire venom. Her poetry is both dark and gut wrenching; yet it is raw and beautiful. This is a novelette, a short story in diary format.

Note to Reader: This story may include spoilers to "The Legacy of Kilkenny."

So, I have to say I really, really like this short. I loved how it was set up in a diary or (journal) style, and "Dear J" that is awesome! The readers are allowed to see more of who Allie is on the inside, how her mind works. We learn about her struggles and the choices she made that lead her to the dark place of addiction, and not just any addiction but to vampire venom. Although there is definitely some lightheartedness this story is weaved in such a way through her journaling that we see the depth to which this vampire has gone into Allie's soul. In Allie's own words we are able to share in her confusion over her emotions, her elation over feeling wanted and desired, and her fear of the unknown. Very moving and haunting. I found myself at times when she was describing her desperation that I had to remind myself to breathe because I could really feel and understand where she was coming from just from the words she wrote in her journal. I can't say enough about this short novella, I'm very impressed. Well done Ms. Dawson! -Quinn Loftis

This is a companion Novelette of The Legacy of Kilkenney. It is a great quick read that gives you insight into Allie's mind and feelings as she becomes a pawn in a supernatural game. Allie is the sister of Abel Casey, the prophesied Great Wolf. This is brillantly written as a journal found by Abel and released to the pack to help them understand that Allie needs to be saved from her place in this deadly game. It was fun to be able to see the story from another outside POV and get some ideas about where the story will go from the first book. I would recommend this for any paranormal readers but definitely read The Legacy first!

eh

Not a favorite. I get it’s a novella but it was not my cup of tea. Didn’t care for the structure, plot, characters… vampires and werewolves.

The Seduction is reading into Allie’s Diary… I would suggest reading the first book in this series before reading this book it will give you a bit more insight into what is going on. I am hoping in reading this I can learn why she chose a Vampire (not that she knew he was one) but did she chose him because he had money because once he bought her (I mean buying her everything she could ever want). I had thought she met Arien that night but according to the Journal Arien is NOT the guy she met at the party that made her melt…. Curious to learn more…

I really did not enjoy this. It felt nothing like the other books in the series and kind of left a bitter taste in my mouth about reading future books in the series.
