3.0 An enjoyable issue of Constantine, though both the cleverness and the color has been turned down a bit since the prior issue now that we're in dreary London and Constantine has taken ill with his curse.
Despite a few clever turns, this concluding chapter exemplifies for me the problem I frequently have with enjoying Constantine: there seems to be no point to it. He has some enumerable amount of tricksy powers, there's some innumerable amount of devices to acquire or destroy and demons to tangle with and friends and acquaintances to sacrifice.
I'd like a glimpse at a bigger picture without having to read all 300 issues of Hellblazer. Fawkes and Lemire are snappy enough here that I'll stick around a few more issues to see if they manage to telegraph something larger, as Lemire did so well on Animal Man.
