Sid Salter has written an excellent and engaging biography of the Voice of Mississippi State football. Jack Cristil was a feature in my life for several decades, and I enjoyed learning more of his life. I highly recommend this book for all Mississippi State fans and for those who enjoy radio sports broadcasts.

I grew up listening to Jack Cristil at least one a week during football and basketball season. He is indelibly linked to Mississippi State. I enjoyed learning more about his personal life and was surprised to find out how much he actually worked in addition to his Mississippi State broadcasting duties. I remember his last broadcast in February 2011 and will always think fondly of Cristil.
