Payback is a bitch and her name is Kali Sweet...

I'm Kali Sweet, the best damn vengeance demon on Earth. I work for the supernatural world's Justice Department and protect innocent humans from otherworldly creatures like me. While I can't take revenge for myself, I make sure justice is done for others.

But when my latest run-in with Chicago's vampire king backfires, the fallout leaves me with three big problems: a powerful Undead enemy who wants my head, my boss looking over my shoulder, and three personal blood slaves jeopardizing my reputation.

One of those slaves happens to be sexy rock star Radison Beaumont - the half-human, half-chaos demon who left me at the altar three hundred years ago. Even if he does need my blood now to survive, Rad and I will always be enemies.

Especially since he's joined an ancient society of demon killers--and I'm the number one demon on their most wanted list.

To think I was naïve enough to believe the abominable IAEbIAaPDaCSP™ was all behind me. Silly little me.

I should have known this one was a disaster waiting to happen. Yep, I should have seen it coming from thousands of miles away. Why? Well, I could tell you that the book cover was a dead giveaway, since it looks like something designed by me an 8-year-old. But that would be a low blow, so I won't. Tell you that the book cover is slightly awful-looking, I mean. Because I'm kind-hearted and stuff. Besides, even if the cover hadn't been so ugly it hurt, the Book Title/Name of the Series Combination Thingy (BTNotSCT™) was a telltale sign that this was indeed some kind of deadly trap. Don't you just love it when authors play with their MC's name like that? I sure do. It's so brilliantly clever. And so fantastically witty. And not pathetic at all. Oh no, absolutely not. And the cool thing is, this BTNotSCT™ business kind of reminds me of a certain secretive heroine whose secret name shall not remain secret, since it's Secret. Yay.

Sooooooo, this one is highly recommended for the silly people those who:

✘ Think it's super cool when pathetic lovey dovey crap is disguised as UF.

✘ Get a kick out of convoluted messes. And have an ADHD-enabled brain.

✘ Love nothing better than a woe-is-me MC who spends her freaking time freaking blah-blah-blah-ing about her freaking feelings. And figuratively sobbing over her uber lousy luuurrrrve life of centuries past. This is so awesome. Woohoo.

✘ Are addicted to love quadrangles of doom, destruction and instant annihilation of all life in the universe.

✘ Have a thing for one dimensional, clichéd as hell demons.

Are suckers for punishment.

The end.

PS: once I'm done taking crap off Mount TBR for the MacHalo TBR Cleaning Challenge, I think I'm going to have to sterilize my shelf. Just to make sure the Deadly Craptastic Disease (DCD™) doesn't contaminate the rest of my library.

Revenge is Sweet is the first novel in the urban fantasy series Kali Sweet by award winning author Misty Evans. This adult-fiction offers an urban fantasy set in the windy city of Chicago. Filled with demons, vampires, witches and angels this fast-paced action packed novel keep me on the edge of my seat.

The protagonist is Kali Sweet. She is a kick-ass demon who works for the Bridge Council. They are responsible for keeping supernatural creatures in check and protecting innocent humans. I absolutely adore Kali. She is tough, smart and incredibly resourceful. She fights danger head on, but does everything in her power to protect life. She has been around, some of her back history involves the year 1920. She has surrounded herself with a great group of friends and I liked all the individual characters. The men around her, all seem to be protective of her. They respect her and are probably a little in love with this snarky little warrior. While she is bound from seeking revenge for herself, she can seek it for others and her skill set is exceptional. Her feisty attitude and sensitive heart make her a powerhouse in the butt-kicking department. Throughout the novel, Evans hints of untapped powers and that Kali is very unique. I am very excited to see her growth in upcoming novels. In the relationship department, it is very obvious (though she would flat out deny it) that her heart belongs and always will to the man who broke it approx. 300 years ago…. Radison Beaumont. Rad is a half-demon and hasn’t seen Kali in almost 300 years. From the beginning it is apparent that he still loves Kali, that he is suffering from some kind of guilt and that what Kali thinks occurred back in 1920, isn’t the full story. I fell in love with this sexy, romantic chaos demon and cannot wait to watch more of their story unfold.

In this tale, Kali’s job for the council gets her in trouble when she has a run in with the Chicago vampire leader. She ends up taking him out and finds herself with three blood slaves…one of them is Rad. The tale that unfolds, finds her in danger, as a witch hires her to do an impossible task. This witch has escaped from Hell and failing could mean Kali’s death. The council is making demands and everyone wants her dead. With her partner Cole and her friends help, she is determined to set things right. Rad, despite her protests, stays close by her side. Oddly he ends up helping a lot and the more she listens to him, the more she wonders about the events causing their break-up. I consumed this in a few hours and loved every minute of it. My only complaint was the abrupt ending. I didn’t see it coming and it left me unsatisfied and wanting more. It wasn’t a cliffhanger but it left me with enough teasers that I truly wanted to scream.LOL

Evans creates a world that had my heart skipping. Her tale is tightly woven and its clear she knows this world and its characters intimately. I liked the hierarchy of the vampire world. The characters that run the different districts were delightfully entertaining. The corruption reminded me of the mob as everyone shuffles for more power. The Bridge council and its leader intrigued me. They ask Kali to do something unusual, and I cannot help but wonder what their ulterior motive is. They claim it’s for the good of all...but I have a niggling feeling they know more about who and what Kali really is then she does. The characters had depth and I loved their back history. Even the minor characters were unique and I felt invested in them. We briefly meet a few interesting angels and witches. I am excited to see if they will play a more integral role in the series. Evans portrayal of two very well known angels had me grinning from ear to ear. The chemistry between Rad and Kali was intense and their raw emotions seemed to rise up from the pages and engulf me. While this is mainstream fiction, there were some hot and steamy scenes.(mostly implied) Evans did a great job of making their relationship and the tension believable. I felt for both of them and got swept up in their tale.

*****Five Kick-ass Stars
Kali sweet may be small in stature, but this little revenge demon is a major force to be reckoned with. While she cannot take revenge for herself, Kali has spent the last few hundred years, exacting vengeance on behalf of those who require it. The bodies are piling up, and for a while, they help suppress her inner demon. Unfortunately, Kali's dark past (and the darkness inside) refuses to stay buried. Both come out to play when Raddison Beaumont explodes back into her life. This sexy and alluring half-human/half-demon may have won her heart all those centuries ago, but he tore it to shreds and stomped on pieces when he betrayed Kali and her family. When Kali gets in over her head with the local Vampire King, Rad tries to help but does little more than add fuel to an already raging fire. Now, Kali has a real mess on her hands, and the ones closest to her are caught in the middle of it...did I mention the fate of the world now rests in her hands? Will Kali be able to save the day and keep her demon under control, or will darkness fall along with the veil between Hell and Earth?

I haven't been able to find a series that satisfied my paranormal craving since I finished The Black Dagger Brotherhood...until NOW! I absolutely LOVED this book, and can't wait to dive into the rest of the series. It has everything I love in a good paranormal--- demons and angels, vamps and weres, witches and the damned, all tied together with a little blond kick-ass bow. I absolutely devour books with strong female leads, and the author nailed it with Kali Sweet. She is just the right mix of vengeance and vulnerable that makes her easy to relate to. Fans of The Warden (J.R. Ward) will enjoy this jaunty read by Misty Evans. I sure did! 5 stars, baby!

Revenge is Sweet is the first in a brand new series that will grab and keep your attention. Everything I read by Misty is a hit for me. The novels I've read by her are usually short and sweet, but this time we get a bit more juice with a File size of 874 KB, where as Witches Anonymous has a file size of 495 KB. So that's a bonus.

One thing I love about this series is that it blends into the same world as Witches Anonymous and it shares characters that cross over in each series. I am first and always a Witches Anonymous fan, but Kali Sweet is giving her a run for her money.

Lots of action and fun. The characters were great and even the secondary characters stood out and made me love them. I love that we got another take on a bad-ass chick in the world of Witches Anonymous. I also love that we got to see Luc in a different setting and from a different point of view. I may love Rad the man who stood her up years before, Damon her boss and her pal Cole, but it's always been Luc for me. okay, Damon and the guys are getting close, but it's still Lucifer.

Over all, the storyline was exciting and fast paced, the characters were very likeable and I'm now left begging for the next instalment. I'd say that's exactly what we look for in a novel, yes?
If you haven't checked out this series, check it out. If you also haven't checked out her previous series that shares this world, check out her Witches Anonymous series. You won't regret it!

Oh.. I'm going to do a little boasting now. I won a part in Misty's novels where I get to name a character. She named the character Natasha Anayas after me and I'm proud to say I was a kick ass fire assassin who I like to call "The Fire Starter" You can check that out in her novel, Dark Lilith Moon here

This was good. It was a little on the different side.

Although the character is supposed to be hundreds of years old, she still doesn't appear to 'know' things about her community and job, and still does really stupid things. That could be endemic of course.

Aside from the serious malfunctions, she is still a likable character. Her employment situation is something that will always be a reflection of the world we live in, so that is definitely a factor we can all empathise with.

The story goes in good directions that manages to just keep it fresh enough to keep going. I'm looking forward to the next book.

This story is one of those where you want to be the hero of the book! Kali is a Buffy the vampire slayer new genre. I fell head first in this story and I must admit I struggled to emerge. I thought about it constantly and I loved my experience. It was my first book of the author Misty Evans and surely not the last! Revenge is Sweet is the first book of a new series created by the same author as the series: Witches Anonymous. We even find some characters from the Witches Anonymous in Revenge is Sweet and I intend to start the series Witches Anonymous soon!

I loved the writing style of the author, I was delighted by her enthusiasm and especially by the use of some Italian terms (LOL) used throughout the story and that adds to the realism. In addition, the author knows how to use humor to her advantage and there is a lot of it in this book! I have often had a few laughs and I must say it feels good! A true therapy, cheaper! The action is taking place in our time but the author often refers to the past of her characters (which often brings us back to Roman times). The fact that the author takes the time to explain the past of the main characters is very helpful to the understanding of the global story! I loved the fact that the action never stops!

Even the sensual scenes are exciting. I must confess that I remained impressed by the fact that the book is not bombarded with sex scenes (which are nevertheless very interesting! Yummy!) (I'm the kind of reader who enjoys reading a sexy scene in each chapter (you get the idea!), but this is not the case in Revenge is Sweet). There is always something happening that allows the reader to stay alert and hooked! The heroin is very endearing, I think all girls dream of being a bit like her or have a friend like this: Kali is a beautiful girl, intelligent, who can fight and do not let anyone stepping on her head, but she got the heart on her hand and she's always present for her friends. It is a heroine of modern times with a troubling past, but she didn't feel sorry for herself.

Radison is the perfect representation of the sexy male and it seems to be an attractive creature! I'd like to know which actor would play its role on the screen! I really liked this character, at once mysterious but very sensual! Oh my, I have dreamed! Even Lucifer seems to be very sexy and attractive! And I love stories that include Lucifer, so Misty Evans as a new fan to both of her series as Kali Sweet and Witches Anonymous! I was very pleased to discover this world full of paranormal creature: any reader will be satisfied, the vampire to demon from shifter to witch all the elements is put together to attract and win the heart of the fans of the paranormal. I think this new series will delight fans of Misty Evans are also new player like me. You'll love this story I highly recommend it! I'm looking forward to read the next book in this series!

2.5 stars. Shows promise but has some issues for me.

This was fairly interesting when Kali wasn't obsessing/ lamenting her love life, unfortunately she spends a great deal of time doing that. I also thought the plot was a little busy with several unconnected things going on at once. I think it would have been a better call to have kept a tighter focus on just one main event to help ease the reader in to the new world and then bring other elements in during later books.

Overall it had some potential and was better than some of the Urban Fantasy I've read lately. Still, I'm kind of torn as to whether I want to continue this series or not though. If the emphasis shifts to be less about Kali's history with Rad and all the not-quite-romance crap and focuses more on the plot and world building then I'd probably enjoy it, but if it's another book where she spends a lot of time being "confused" over her feelings and skirting the perimeter of a love-quadrangle then I have better things to do with my time.

I gave it 3.5/5 stars

Ok complete cover honesty. I don't like it, Its blah, makes REVENGE IS SWEET look like it will be super corny and I would have never picked up the book to read the blurb if I saw it sitting on a shelf. Luckily for me I joined the book tour and decided to bypass the cover and read it anyways.

Everyone knows I like snarky ladies and Kali is snarky, has an attitude, doesn't take crap and knows how to kick @ss. She ends up being more then meets the eye. It was hard not to like Rad (Radison) even though he left Kali at the alter, he complemented Kali well and they worked well together when they allowed themselves to bypass their issues with each other. I also enjoyed the secondary characters they did a great job of rounding out the story. I enjoyed the world that Misty created. I could totally see myself in it among all the witches, vampires, demons, etc, etc. The story flowed well and a lot happened between the chapters. There were some great twist and turns thrown in. I have not read any of Misty's other books but I guess a few characters in REVENGE IS SWEET are in another of her series so I might have to check them out. The ending leaves you wanting to read more of the story so I hope Misty does another book tour that I can jump into. I'm glad I gave the book a chance despite the cover.

Loved this first book in this series. Kali is an awesome character and the other main characters are extremely likable.

Kali's life gets turned upside down all because a vamp can't take no for an answer and she gets jerked around in multiple directions after acquiring blood slaves she doesn't want, has to take over as vamp queen despite being a demon, has a sorta ex-fiance that wants back in her life, swearing he wants to help her, but works for evil's enemy and a manipulative boss who may have the hots for her.

Who can Kali trust? One thing is for sure, this chick doesn't hide from anyone.

The flow of the story was really good. It wasn't rushed and the end definitely leaves room for continuation and I really hope Evans does.

The crossover with her Witches Anonymous series (which I love) was awesome and didn't take away from the main story. It was worked in really well in the circumstances Kali found herself in because of that damned Victoria.

The world this series is set in is well established and consistent throughout the story.

Overall, I definitely say give this a read.

I've been a fan of Misty Evans for years, starting with her Super Agent Series, I followed her to her light paranormals on to her darker paranormals. But I'll be the first to tell you I wasn't sure about an Urban Fantasy. Everyone seems to love 'em, but they're just not my cup of tea. But I know her writing and the way she makes me feel like I could hang out with her heroines, so I jumped in with both feet.

And boy am I glad I did. Kali is a girl you can call to help you move a body, literally. She's got a tough outer shell, with a soft center, complete with a funny quirky disposition and attitude for days. What's not to love? And Rad...Boy oh boy, if you've ever read a Misty Evans book before, you know the men are sexy and mysterious with just a hint of danger. Rad does not disappoint. And I hold out hope for him and Kali.

And of course her shout out to Amy and Luke from Witches Anonymous in the middle of the book made me smile.

As always, the writing is quality and fast paced and makes you wish for the next in the series. Even if Urban Fantasy isn't your thing, Revenge is Sweet will change your mind and make you a fan of Misty Evans forever.

Kali Sweet is a vengeance demon who serves on the Bridge Council, protecting humans from other supernaturals. When she challenges Nudra, Vampire King of Chicago, it doesn’t go so well, leaving her with vampire enemies, her interfering boss invading her mind and three personal blood slaves demanding she provide them with blood. One of those blood slaves is half-human, half-chaos demon, Radison Beaumont, who is an enemy since he left Kali at the altar several hundred years ago, but is so hard to resist. The Bridge Council makes a deal with the vampires for Kali to take Nudra’s place as Queen, not something Kali is eager to do since she hates vampires. As Kali tries to determine how to deal with Rad, and how to get out of becoming a vampire queen, she has to fight off power hungry vampires, several other deadly supernatural beings, as well as a society of demon killers who have Kali in their sights. I thought this was a fantastic story, but it ended a little abruptly for me, with several questions unanswered. I would rather have kept on reading about what happens next to Kali and friends, but I guess I’ll just have to wait until the next book to find out.

I don't believe it's possible for me to say this.. This series will be an awesome, fun read if the author gave each characters a chance to develop before she creates more twist and turns. Kali is a likeable heroin, Rad, the main male squeeze also has lots of potential.. And Cole, Damon,Di, JR, everyone of these characters have tons of potentials.. But before anyone has a chance to get to know them and like them, something happen.. I understand readers need excitement in the plots to keep hold their interests. However, this whole series (book 1&2) is like a normal paranormal book with an ADHD plot lines. New things developed every few pages without the previous one resolved. Not much answer to anything.. I feel the author was so busy keep twisting and turning the story lines, by the time for explanation, she ran out of steam so the explanation is very, minimal and almost ridiculously brief.. I lost times how many times I went, "what the heck, and that's it" over the duration of reading book 1&2.

I think I will keep reading book3 simply because I want some closure, some answers... However if book 3 turns out to be like book 1&2, I think i am out..

Misty Evans's first foray into urban fantasy proves to be a successful one. In REVENGE IS SWEET, she continues what she started in the ENTANGLED anthology with her short story, "Sweet Demon."

Kali Sweet is a vengeance demon, one of the best on Earth, sworn to protect humans from otherworldly creatures. When she kills a notorious vampire king, she's pulled into that world by her boss, Damon, who insists she take his place as queen. She's also managed to gather a few blood slaves along the way, including one who happens to be the on-again/off-again lover who jilted her centuries before.

I enjoyed reading this first book of the series. Misty Evans builds a wonderful world populated with witches, demons and vampires. Fans of her Witches Anonymous series will love the cameo with Amy and Lucifer. I love that she crossed the two stories in such a masterful way. For fans of urban fantasy, this book doesn’t disappoint.

This is the first book I have read by Misty Evans and it will not be my last! Kali is one kick ass chick! I want to be her! She is afraid of nothing and no one! Rad makes me melt! I spent half the time angry with him and the other half rooting for he and Kali to be together! Then Misty Evans threw in a sexy vampire and a hot boss that's an archdemon and I had to fan myself. A lot happened in this book and it left a lot of unanswered questions. The ending was not my favorite. Felt rushed. Only reason I am not giving it 5 stars. It was a solid 4.5 and I am so reading book 2 and anything else I can get my hands on by this author!!!

I really enjoyed this book! Kali is kick-ass, funny and snarky! The secondary and tertiary characters are great and I can't wait for more. I really like Rad and hope all ends well! I realized at the end of the book that the witch Amy and Lucifer in the middle of the story are actually part of another series that Ms. Evans writes starting with Witches Anonymous. So guess which series I'm going to check out next? :)

This is not my first Misty Evans novel. I was first introduced to her books through her Super Agent series, which is really amazing. When she asked if I might want to read and review her paranormal novel, I was more than happy to oblige.

The author definitely knows how to create some amazing and detailed characters. Kalina Dolce, or Kali Sweet as she is now known, is a tough woman who doesn't take crap from anyone. Oh, and she just so happens to be a vengeance demon who works for an organization that keeps other paranormal beings at bay. As was detailed in the synopsis, she has to deal with many different problems in this book, but I don't think any of them compare to the conflict caused by the many men in her life. First there is Radison; he and Kali were once engaged, but he never showed up to their wedding. As Kali learns more about Rad and the situation surrounding their almost-marriage, it only causes more conflict. Then there's Cole, a fellow demon who works for the Bridge Council with Kali. He acts as her bodyguard a lot of the time, even though I'm positive she could hold her own. Her boss at the Bridge Council, Damon, is mysterious and hard to figure out at times. I found myself constantly evaluating his motives. Finally there is Alexandru, or Dru for short, who just so happens to be a vampire. Although he isn't introduced until towards the end, and Kali doesn't seem extremely drawn to him (she's not particularly fond of vampires), I found him to be an interesting character who isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes is right.

Let's discuss these men a little further. It's hard to say who is exactly right for Kali. Just when I thought I had picked a favorite, one of the other guys would do something that put me on their side. Radison is an obvious choice for her. They have so much history, although much of it is tainted with ill feelings. I think there is still more to him that we haven't seen yet and underneath everything he really does care for her. Cole very obviously wants Kali to himself and that doesn't go completely unnoticed by her, but she's still evaluating her feelings for Radison. I feel that Cole has a spot in her heart though and I am predicting that he will play a bigger part in her personal life in the future. I was conflicted about Damon. At times it seemed like he had real feelings for Kali, but I couldn't be sure. He could just as easily have been manipulating her in order to better control her. For me, the jury is still out on his real motives. Last but not least there's Dru. I fell in love with him pretty quickly; he's quite the gentleman, if you can get past the fact that his father is Vlad, the ruthless leader of the vampires. He's certainly someone I would want in my corner, though, because he seems so loyal and genuine. I guess we'll have to wait and see which direction Kali's heart leads her.

I absolutely adored the story line in this book. It's hard to stand out in a world full of paranormal novels, but somehow this one managed it. The story line captured my attention from the beginning and kept it until the very last page. There was a lot of different things going on at once, but it never got confusing or frustrating. It just made it that much harder to put down at the end of the day.

If you're a fan of the paranormal genre, or even if you're not, I think there's a little something in this book for everyone. There is some romance involved, but I wouldn't say that it is the focal point. From the incredible characters to the intriguing story line, this is a book that you won't want to put down once you've started. I'm proud to say I have a new favorite series and I can't wait to see what the author has in store next for Kali.

Kali’s life is pretty straightforward, protect the innocent and kill the bad guys. She is a vengeance demon and a bad-ass one at that;

“While I looked like a male fantasy come to life in my short leather skirt, thigh-high boots and Red Riding Hood cape, they knew a true badass when they saw one.”

Things start to go to hell when her ex makes a reappearance, Rad, the man who stood her up at the altar a couple of hundred years ago, but not all is what it seems with Rad for he turns out to be a demon slayer. You would think that would be all the drama that could happen to one person, but Kali gets captured by Nudra and fed upon by a shifter and a witch wanting to be more powerful, which ends up putting Kali is some real trouble that seems to be never ending. There is heaps of stuff going on in this, lots of twists and turns and new plot thickening drama happening left right and center, which I found a tad hard to keep up with at times. I wanted so badly for Kali and Rad to sort everything out in this, the ending really left you hanging and begging for more to see what happens with them. I got hooked right from the start but I got a little uninterested in the middle, it seems like too much was happening all at once, it was hard to keep track of but I got back into it at the end. I’m not as big an urban fantasy lover as some, I like a bit more romance to my books but for those who are I think they will really enjoy reading this. I would give this one three and a half stars if I was able, three just doesn't do it justice.

I stumbled upon Misty Evans when I found Soul Survivor, having loved that I read Soul Protector and decided I liked the cover for Revenge is Sweet so I downloaded a sample then bought the book as soon as I had finished the sample. So, in short, I really enjoy Misty Evans!

Kali is a vengeance demon and a kick-ass enforcer for the Bridge Council - they're kinda like the police of the supernatural world. She has to give a warning to the vamp king of her region but it doesn't end too well when he kidnaps her and ties her to blood slaves - which is enough to get her fired. She runs into old-flame and ex-hubby-to-be and old feeling flare to life, even when she finds out he's a Noct and she shouldn't be involved, she just can't help herself. So now she has to face her new vamp-leader life as well as keep secrets from her mind-reading boss and try and fight her lust for Rad.

I really, really liked Kali, she's completely no nonsense. Kinda like if Buffy was a demon (which I suppose she was really), an old demon with LOADS of powers - not just strength. I seem to like strong-willed female leads, particularly ones who aren't all human so Kali was an awesome read for me.

Already downloaded the next book which will be read after my next 2 books (sorry Kali, but the other 2 books were waiting first).

This is my first read in the genre "Urban Fantasy" and I loved it. I love Misty Evans’ writing so that is the only reason I tried this book out. It was a very fun, suspenseful (to me anyway), romantic, humorous read. As with all of Misty's books, there is not "break" anywhere in the story where it is easy to put it down. The story just flows from one chapter to the next. Kali is such a tough, awesome heroine who knows what she wants, but doesn't at the same time. She has a vulnerable side like we all do. She deals with weaknesses like we all do, yet she is tough as nails and tries so hard to not show her weaknesses. The characters were all so well developed and the relationships between them were great. I really like Rad, Cole, Dru, Maddy, and Damon. Kali met Luc and Amy from the Witches Anonymous series and I loved the Italian slang words. In this book, I like how the fantasy stuff has a real twist to it and while they have magic and supernatural abilities, it isn't all about those as much so it is easier to understand. Highly recommend this book and can't wait for the next one to come out!

I love every minute of Revenge is Sweet. In fact, I loved it so much that I had to share with friends before I was halfway through the book; that takes a lot for a series I am not already sharing with them.

In this outstanding story of adventure and romance, Kali Sweet, a vengeance demon who loves and protects humans, faces daunting changes in her world! The half Chaos demon, half human who left her at the alter is back in her life, just in time to accidentally drink her blood after she has been injected by a royal vampire. She hates vampires!!! Now, not only does she have three blood servants, don't tell anyone about that third one please, but she is about to become Queen of the Undead for Central United States. Yep, her world is about to change! Humor, character, and plot are hallmarks of Misty Evans that takes this book to an outstanding level.

Really just so-so for me. Kali is a vengeance demon and works for the bridge council - and protects humans from rouge super naturals. World building was good and I enjoyed some of the minor players more than Kali - my favorite was Rad - really wish that Kali would have listen to more of his story - instead of shutting him down. Did not like or trust Damon. Thought Cole, Maddy, Hone, Di, RJ, and Dru were great characters - but what I didn't really get was why it seemed like every male character barring RJ and Hone - seemed to have a romantic or bedroom interest in Kali - atleast that's what her inner voice seemed to say. Liked the action but it definitely took a back seat to the romantic overtones

Not really sure how I feel about this one overall - just "meh"

I read the short story 'Sweet Demon' and it got me hooked. I wanted to read more about Kali Sweet, vengeance demon. Great urban fantasy, in which for a change the demons are the good guys (kind of anyway).
The characters (even those on the side lines) are easily lovable. The chemistry between them is exciting. Since English is not my mother tongue I understood and welcomed the use of Italian curses and swear words, which for me underlined Kali's authenticity.
Lots of twists and turns, and the mystery just keeps going. You think you found the answers to some questions, but no there's more to it...Really, I want the second book, even if it means overrunning my book-budget for this month. ;)

there are a lot of characters to love in this book Kali is brilliant then we have the guys, Cole, Damon, Rad, even Lucifer and Gabriel make an appearance and there is nothing hotter than a fallen angel lol.
Di needs to be a bigger part or have her own series I just love her and seriously she would make a great supernatural matchmaker...lol
Maddi is sweet for a baby vamp

I applaud Misty Evans on this book! Amazing job on the characters. I think they stand out the most. I found even the secondary characters were done amazingly as well. She even entangled some of her characters from her other series. The world setting was developed well and believable. The Plot, and pace was nicely done. Complete with twists and turns, and few edge of your seat moments. Writing style was professional. Overall I loved this book!

This book starts out great, only to digress the rest of the book. The characters were good but the overall story was a bit lacking. I can't help but feel like the story should have flowed better. And the ending rushed up on me like the ground does when you fall flat on your face; leaving me feeling stunned and a bit put out of place. Crappy, crappy ending. I suppose I'll read the next installment just to give this series a fighting chance.

Do I recommend it?

At the moment, possibly not.

Revenge is Sweet by Misty Evans
Chicago is the setting of this urban fantasy book. Kali Sweet is a vengeance demon who works for the Bridge Council. Kali's history goes back to the Roman Empire. Kali running into Rad who left her at the altar 300 years ago stirs up many memories of her years in Rome. But in the present day who is she fighting and who can she trust. Excellent start to a series.
