Một quyển cẩm nang hữu ích để hiểu về lịch sử gốm sứ Trung Hoa. Nếu bỏ qua yếu tố tự hào dân tộc tính vài chỗ hơi thái quá, thì nhìn chung, nội dung khá thú vị, dễ đọc, dễ hiểu và đem lại cái nhìn tổng quát về gốm sứ Trung Hoa, nhất là những đoạn đi sâu hơn một chút vào chi tiết như các dòng gốm tiêu biểu, vài kỹ thuật gốm đặc biệt.

Điểm hạh chế là sách còn ở mức đơn giản đối với người quan tâm, chưa đi chuyên vào các nhóm gốm, sứ như dòng xanh, hồng, diêu hồng,… cũng như những mẩu chuyện lịch sử/ giai thoại nổi tiếng về việc hình thành các dòng gốm, ví dụ như gốm Nhữ Diêu với giai thoại “Vũ quá thiên thanh”,…

Nhìn chung, sách in rõ, hình minh hoạ rất đẹp, lời văn không cầu kỳ nên dễ đọc, rất phù hợp với những ai thích ngắm gốm sứ đẹp và tìm hiểu ở mức khái quát gốm sứ Trung Hoa.
