Exposed! 2011: The Pictures the Celebs Didn't Want You to See!

Rate this book
Alison Jackson's convincingly realistic work uses celebrity lookalikes—here she goes behind the headlines with a hilarious collection of the year's best stories It was quite a year in the celebrity world, and as the public's thirst for gossip has reached fever pitch, what could be better than a very convincing look at the scenarios we have all imagined but never seen? Alison Jackson presents the "true" stories of these most momentous events, including Charlie Sheen's journey from losing it to WINNING, and the world stopping entirely to watch Kate 'n' Wills get married (then getting totally distracted by Pippa's bottom instead). These are the pics that carefully airbrushed celebs might not have wanted you to see, like Gaga buying dress meat at the butcher and the Beckhams picking out names for their new daughter ("Cif?" "No, David, I told you, I wanted Harpic." "I thought you said 'Harper,' Victoria?" "Oh yes, that's the one!")—but everyone else wants to see these behind the scene shots. They say the camera never lies—let's test that out.

This is tagged as art and the exploration of the cult of the celebrity, however I see it more as a creative extension of the tabloid agenda. I didn't find it funny and I'm surprised it got published.
