It’s Thanksgiving Day, Turkey’s moment in the spotlight—but Santa's already putting up Christmas lights! As these two grouchy rivals vie for space on the calendar, everything is fair game for sabotage: Turkey's parade balloons, Santa's sleigh...not even poor Rudolph is safe. Find out who will win the holiday turf war in this laugh-out-loud rhyming celebration of Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Todd Tarpley has crafted something oddly delightful here. The littles that will be delighted by the way our holiday icons fight, while the adults may find themselves enjoying the commentary of Christmas stuff going up before Thanksgiving is even over. It's a class of the holidays you wouldn't want to miss, especially when Mrs. Claus gets added to the mix.
However, it does need saying that this story could come across as acting rashly, of fighting first rather than talking things out, which might not be the best example for the littles. Yes, this is a children's story, and a lot of it doesn't need to be taken to heart, but it t is still showing people lashing out over something that is minor in the grand scheme of things. I think a reminder to littles that fighting like this is not the answer would be worth it from the adults reading to them too.
This what happens when the Thanksgiving Turkey finally had enough with Santa Christmas take over after Halloween. An epic fight for the ages the only one who win is well no body. After the fight end with the Thanksgiving Parade in shambles and kid crying and Mrs. Clause angry at both of them. Like a Mother making her boys make up she make them make and work together yo fix/clean up their mess just in time yo save Thanksgiving and Christmas. This was charming, adorable, cute, and an overall funny holiday book for young children feel like celebrating the holidays.

This is the seasonal book you need. Who knew that Turkey and Santa were in a frenemy rivalry? Who knew that Santa could play dirty? (we figured that Turkey could, he has a natural weapon with which you will become quite familiar). Thanksgiving, Christmas, Santa, Turkey, sabotage, and retaliatory turkey poop. What's there not to love???
I was looking forward to this second book in the Festive Feuds by Tarpley but was disappointed that they were simply nasty to each other. Younger readers will see humor in the interchanges but it's disappointing to see both of them resort to unkind moves. The illustrations do capture the story and the ending helps.
When Christmas decorations encroach upon Thanksgiving festivities, turkey and Santa Claus get into an altercation.
The illustrations were created digitally.
The Christmas decorations are already squeezing out the Halloween decorations in the seasonal sections of chain stores by mid-October, so turkey has a legitimate complaint.
