With the challenge complete and the corrupt Alpha of Coldspring defeated Fane is now free to complete the mate bond with Jacque and perform the Blood Rites. Although the challenge is done, the effects are far-reaching. Once it is known that Vasile, one of the strongest Alphas in the world is in America, specifically Coldspring, TX, there is one Alpha who cannot overlook the significance of this. An Alpha who happens to share Jacque's DNA, but is this the one she needs to fear?

With her mom driving and her two best friends, Jen and Sally in tow, Jacque sets off for her happily ever after. She will soon realize a plan has been put in motion that will change her course and possibly tear her from Fane's grasp forever. It will take a wolf pack, her mother's love, her two best friend's unrelenting determination, her own will to survive and the undying love of her mate to bring her home. The question remains if she fights, if she endures, who will she be, what will be left once she is back in her mate's arms?

Hello, Readers. My name is Quinn Loftis and I am lucky enough to call myself a novelist. In 2011, I self-published my first novel, Prince of Wolves with no expectations, other than my friends and family might purchase the book out of pity. Now, several years later, with 30+ novels and counting under my belt, Prince of Wolves had been downloaded over 1 million times. Though I was hesitant at the time to submit my work to the world for their scrutiny, I'm so glad I did. It made my dream of making a living by telling stories a reality.

I'm blessed to share my household my wonderful husband of more than twenty years (who also co-writes with me on occasion), three beautiful sons, a French Bulldog, and an oversized tabby cat. I love hearing from readers, so if you have any questions about the books or my journey, don't hesitate to hit the 'Contact Quinn' in the menu above. Thank you so much for taking a chance on my books.

Loved this book, it’s so full of passion, wonderful characters that I’m getting to know better and better. Like Jacque, Jen and Sally, whom are best friends and would do anything for each other. They also bring plenty of comic relief, during stressful times, along with none stressful times. Fane Jacque’s mate, who’s so in love with her, is a passionate, dangerous Alpha male Prince, who’s tall, built and hot as hell to boot. Would do anything for her, as we see again and again. He cares about nothing, but keeping her safe and being with her.

The story moves along at a fast pace and when it ended, I was very disappointed. That is until I remembered there’s more books to go.

There’s definitely something brewing between Jen and one of the werewolves in Fanes pack, the beta( I can’t think of his name, it was quite different). Anyways if they get together it’s going to be a great read for sure. It was obvious they liked each other, while they’re all working on rescuing Jacque.

It was so beautiful at the end when Fane and Jacque, finally pledge themselves to each other, get blood bonded, married and are together for the first time. It was emotional for sure. I’m dying to read the next book, it’ll be book three of this series.

Oh my god. Oh my god. OH MY FREAKING GOD!!!!
POW had left me speechless and after Blood Rites I just can't catch my breath! My hands were glued to my kindle even when I didn't read. The whole Jacque & Fane drama aside, Jen and Decebel were just hilarious! I sooo recommend The Grey Wolves series to everyone!
Blood Rites continues right where POW left off, when Jacquelyn and Fane are getting ready for their bonding ceremony. We get to know lots of new characters and a flickering flames of a new hot furry romance.
What I most love about the book it is written from the POV of multiple people. Almost everyone. You never get confused or start feeling like a few pages were missing. Jen and Sally are awesome as always. I loved the shower and the singing scene!!!
Goodness, just read it! There's no way you would ever regret reading Quinn Loftis books. I think I'll break a goddamn limb trying to get my hands on the third book :)

Okay, so on the audio.. some of the voices were annoying as fuck.

Other than that, it was pretty enjoyable. Blood Rites is the second book in The Grey Wolves series. This book starts off right where Prince of Wolves left off. If you haven't read that book, well Jacque and Fane are getting all giddy about their upcoming bonding ceremony. At least, they were until all of this drama got in the way.

Jacque and Jen get in an accident and end up in the hospital. Her dad also somehow get's random ass information that she freaking exists - which still blows my mind, really. I also really felt bad for Fane because of how much torment his heart went through while Jacque was injured. I just kept waiting for her to get better so that they can get to the bonding experience pronto.

Then there's Logan, and thank god he got the ending that he did. I was whooping in my kitchen dammit! Other than that, it was a bit boring to listen to.. but maybe it's because I'm doing some chores and other stuff that seemed to need my attention a bit more. I'm hoping that the next book will be a bit better.

I do really feel that the second book is so much better than the first. If you like alpha male stuff, this is the one for you. Love the werewolf drama in this one.

I love Fane's and Jacque's relationship which is sweet and romantic. In the Alpha wolf sort of way, they are trying to complete the mating bond and once again, someone wants to mate Jacque. You see Fane go to the end of the earth to protect her and I am here for it.

One of the things that can throw you off is the multiple POVs that seem to switch without warning. One minute you are reading Logan's POV and in a split second you are reading Dr. Steele's POV. It has a natural flow that it is not hard to catch on whose POV you are reading, but it happens so often that you get whip lashes.

I also did not care for Jennifer's long long-winded sarcasm that constantly would not end throughout the book. She had so much nonsense to say, and it was in my opinion annoying.

Great and quick read no doubt I am looking forward to continuing the series.

--I'm so excited to read the next book that, although I feel a little unconfortable doing this, I am going to skip the review section for now.

However, I will tell you that Loftis improved greatly on the plots, the characters, and the writing. Four. nine stars!! Which rounds to 5 :)

It really wasn't much different from the first book. Same plotline, yet another guy is after the MC and Fane goes all pocessive blah blah blah. If you thought MC and her BFFs were annoying in the first book, they were un-bearable in this one. How can anybody be knowingly / intentionally annoying is beyond me. I skipped pages to get past their constant bantering and untimely sarcacsm which was supposed to be "comic relief". Really how can you even come up with supposed funny stuff when your best friend is in danger?
One thing different (no I am NOT saying better) than first book is, it felt like it had more of Jen than Jac.
I don't think I can read another book in this series, I have a feeling next book is about Jen. I couldn't stand her as a side kick, can't imagine coming out sane if I read anything with her as a lead.

I'm going to start off by saying WOW! I wrote a review for POW and I thought that book was amazing! But this book is hard to write one for. There's not enough words to describe how much I love this book! Quinn throws you into an amazing world filled with laughter, heartbreak, and lots of love. I don't want to give give away any spoilers but you MUST read this book! I don't feel any review will give this book justice! I feel like a stalker watching her websites for more updates on the third book in the series! Lol. Overall... Read these books! And I'm 100% positive you will enjoy this series just as much as I have!

this, and the first book in the series, seems to be running parallel to "fifty shades of grey", in that everyone is raving about it, but i really didn't like it. there was nothing original in this book. one example: the fact that unmated wolves give in to the "darkness" and go mad without finding their other half, their mates. hello, christine feehan fans - does this sound at all familiar to you??

worse, it was just as poorly written as the fifty shades series. i spotted quite a few errors (both typographic and grammatical) in both books i read, and in some parts it seemed like the story was too much of a stretch for me, like the author was trying too hard to resolve all the plot points. wow, (spoiler alert) fane's dad officiated their wedding? does a wolf alpha even have the authority to make that legally binding? nowhere was it mentioned in what capacity vasile had that authority.

sigh. there were only two reasons i even read book two in the first place: to see if the writing somehow miraculously improved (which it didn't), and to see if the blood rites lived up to the hype (again, a big no). i am so not reading the next book in the series.

consider this a warning, unless you go for totally mindless reading.

After reading a number of beautifully written books in a row I can now pinpoint why I am dissapointed with books like this one.

***(By the way I read the entire series of Fifty Shades of Gray back to back in three days,.... then I read this one,... and then I read On the Island,.... just to give you a reference point from where I am coming from.)***

Don't get me wrong the book was interesting and I liked the plot. It is the way the story is told that is lacking for me. I yearn to be in the room with the characters. I want the tears falling from their cheeks to meander down their faces. I want to experience the book. I want the author to show me reactions of the Alpha Males,... I want to experience the RAW power they have and react with the characters in the book. Just printing lines in a book doesn't make me feel. I wanted their looks to be described,... the pain etched on their faces, written descriptively. I would like to interpret their reactions to events by having their body language described.

All that said,... thanks that was cathartic,... this was a decent book,... I just want more from it.

So this one was soo and I mean SOOO much better than the last!
I mean the drama got on my nerves. As did the parts where every single male wants Jac as a mate and how there ain't no better a catch... -_-

But some parts were so written so crystal clear, they left no doubts about Ms. Loftis writing abilities.

She has vastly redeemed herself from the previous disaster and man, it doesn't hurt how delectable Decebel is and how much I love his and Jen's pairing.

Next Book!

I was so pleased when looking through my friends updates, to find Blood Rites available! Needless to say, ... I promptly purchased it and glued myself to my nook! ;)

Blood Rites picks right up where Prince of Wolves leaves off. Just when you think that Jaque and Fane get though the worst of it, and are on their way to total bliss, ... in steps a new fur-ball. *snicker*

I promised to be honest, and so I am going to mention a few things I saw to be a bit unrealistic, in the second installment.

1. Jen and Sally. Where are their parents? I know they are mentioned here and there, ... they seem like a minor detail for two girls who are so involved in this story. I would think that there would have been some scenes written in that showed the readers the parents involvement. Sleep overs are one thing, but for the girls to be able to up and move with Jaque to Romania with Fane and his family, ... without even so much as a hitch, ... didn't seem very realistic to me. (Just speaking as a mother of five children). Also, ... the girls constant banter, even in the most stressful of situations, wore a little bit on my nerves this go round.

2. The entire hospital scene was not very realistic for me. When Jaque woke up from her coma, she picked right up where she left off. Staring into Fane's eyes and professing her love and how much she missed him. In reality, I KNOW Jaque would have been a bit confused as to where she was, and what happened. (Speaking from experience, ... you are totally out of it for quite sometime before things start coming back to you.)
When Fane tore up the hospital, ... where were the cops? Why didn't anyone see this on the multiple cameras that are surveying the hospital at all times? Beer in the hospital? Really? ... I will stop there because there were far to many things to point out that didn't make the story believable to me during this time in the book.

Now, ... on the upside. I thought there was a HUGE improvement in the grammar and dialog in the second installment. I think there was more depth in the back story, and we got a look at her father that passed on the were gene! Yeah! Poor Lilly and Dillion! :(

I absolutely LOVED the Blood Rites/marriage scene of the book! It was so beautifully written, and so romantically intimate. I honestly thought that the whole blood exchange would creep me out, but Quinn wove the story convincingly enough, that it seemed like such a natural thing in the wolf world. I just love Jaque, and Fane! Also, ... Kudo's to Quinn for keeping it tasteful and clean in the intimacy department!

There is one last thing I want to comment on. How great is all this tension between Jen and Decebel? I am so looking forward to what is in store for this new couple on the horizon! This is what makes a great story! Suspense and tension. Not everything in life is going to work out smooth the way we want it to. There are going to be bumps and obstacles to get to where we want to be in life. It's the devotion to see it through that makes the journey so believable.

Regardless of the few flaws that I mentioned, ... I still very much enjoyed Blood Rites and am looking forward to book three!

Four Stars!

I'm unsure of how to put this in words? Except for how glad I was to see Jacque and Fane finally complete their bond and marriage. Just so glad they ended up together. However, this book's ending sets the stage for the next in the series, Just One Drop. I will definitely keep interest in this series.

Quinn Loftis, you gifted, comedic, twisted story-teller you, I am once again thoroughly impressed!! I picked up Blood Rites after devouring every page of Prince of Wolves (which is still making my heart race). That marked day two of my eyes being plastered to my iPad due to lack of willpower to tear myself away from this awesome series!

Blood Rites picks up right where PoW left off, with Jacque and Fane enjoying the excitement of their impending bonding ceremony. But little do they know, there is another threat to their happiness, and this time it won't come down to a single fight to the death for Jacque's heart. When a terrifying car accident leaves Jen and Jacque in the hospital in serious condition, everyone is on edge. To top it off, Jacque's father has learned of her existence and is questioning her safety with the Romanian wolves. But when everyone is busy pointing fingers, no one is watching the one wolf that lurks in the shadows, making his plan that much easier to carry out. With Jacque in grave condition and in the hands of an angry wolf determined to make her his mate, the clock is ticking as Fane's heart is torn in two. He, the pack, and Jacque's friends and family have to work together to get to her in time, hopefully without killing each other in the process.

I was so excited to see where Loftis would take Jacque and Fane's story, I was anxious for their HEA that they so deserved but clearly they had more of their adventure to get through first. When Jacque's father, Dillon was introduced, I was torn between my curiosity and my anger over his lack of respect for Fane and his pack. I just wanted to slap him when he started throwing his weight around!! It was definitely a love-hate relationship with this guy, because you could see he truly cared for Jacque and wanted to be in her life, but he had a very warped opinion on the right way to do it. He was a great character, though, it added depth to Jacque's past and I ended up liking her mom a lot more after seeing firsthand how hard Dillon's leaving was on her.

When the antagonist is introduced, in no way whatsoever was I prepared for just how bad this guy was going to be. Lucas, Lucas, Lucas, oh how I loathe you!!! Lonely old werewolf or not, the things he puts Fane and Jacque through, the torture he causes them both, made me sick to the core. When Fane felt Jacque's pain through their bond and he was so utterly crushed, my heart just shattered to pieces for him!! I was in tears on more than one occasion reading about the pain they both had to endure, Loftis put so much heartbreaking emotion behind it. Lucas deserved the most brutal of endings after what he did to Jacque, but she was so strong and brave through it all. I loved her even more after seeing her face all of this pain and anguish. The fact that she felt the need to do it alone because she thought Fane wouldn't want her if he sensed what was happening, it just made the whole situation that much more crushing. If there were a vote for "bravest book heroines", Jacque would definitely get mine after what she goes through for Fane in this book!! The bond they share and the love they have for each other was so strong and unbreakable, and I was so impressed with what a beautiful love story theirs turned out to be.

Once again, and actually even more so than in PoW, Loftis adds her clever and quick-witted humor that had me busting out laughing left and right. Honestly, I don't know how she comes up with this stuff, but the characters Loftis created with Jen and Sally are downright hysterical!!! There were so many lines and scenes that had me cracking up, they truly do make this story enjoyable on a whole other level. These two, and even Jacque at times, are like a comedy act unfolding before your eyes. I can promise you that you will never hear the songs "Sweet Virginia" or Katy Perry's "ET" without thinking of these characters and LOL!!! Then there's the flirty banter between Decebel and Jen, which was so hilariously adorable; they are so stinkin' cute together!! And the tension between them is off the charts even in the midst of all the comedy they bring to the story! *swoons*

I was blissfully happy with the way Blood Rites wrapped up (OH MY, talk about going out with a bang!!), Loftis gives us just what we wanted for these beloved characters while keeping us on the hook for the next book!! I am SO excited to see Jen and Dec's story next, I'm definitely diving into Just One Drop right away!! Highly recommend this series to YA fantasy fans!!!

I totally wish i had started this series earlier! Its amazing, i love the werewolves bond with their mates. Its sweet and funny. To bad people in real life don't have a pull that strong right away with the people they are meant for. And the family, friendships and all in this book are wonderful. This is how it should be.. I cant wait to get to the 3rd book and get to know Jen a little better..

You know those books you read that just make you wantto gush like a obsessed fan girl? The books that make you smile that sappy grin when you think of them? The ones where your heart does that little flip flop when you think of the ending?
This book is like the commander of all such books!
It was awesome! Truly, it was! It was fantastic, epic, intense, brilliant, heart wrenching, edge of your seat, heart pounding, pulse racing, totally sweet, impossibly perfect, one of a kind book!
I really loved the first one, and was really looking forward to this one but I was also kind of apprehensive because the second books in series-es often seem to be pretty bad cliffys. Sort of like it's the book to throw the wrench in everyone's plans. The book that screws everything up again.
And yeah, I know we NEED things to screw up again so we will have, you know, the BOOK, I always hate it for the characters.
And things got pretty screwy in this book, believe me.
But the cool thing?
They also worked out.
The ending was so perfect and just what I wanted.
Jacque and Fane got married! (this really isn't a spoiler since he says quite plainly and as no surprise in book 1 hat he wants to marry her) and yes I totally squealed like a fan girl at that.
But what I really liked was that Ms. Loftis left what should be behind closed doors...behind closed doors. And I loved that! I mean I'm really happy for them and all but do I want to read an account of it? Um. No.
Quinn Loftis made my top favorite authors with her first book and this one bumped-no, catapulted!- her into top 5.
This book deserves like five bajillion (yes it is a word) stars bit since I'm limited here let's just say the five stars I could give it were bright and shiny indeed!
These books are so good that if they ever become paperback I'll get them like that too just to support the author and her book's awesomeness!
If you haven't read these books you need to give them a try! I guarantee that you will fall in love!

Where do I start with Blood Rites? I think it's safe to say I freakin loved it just as much as Prince Of Wolves (and that's saying alot)!

It started off a short time after Fane fought and won against the alpha of a rival pack for his claim on Jacque. The next step for our beloved couple is the Blood Rites ceremony where they share blood and the bond is completed - where no one else can make a claim on Jacque. Unfortunately all is not smooth sailing as they (and I) would have liked, another wolf is out to take Jacque from Fane and claim her for himself. Poor Jacque. Jen, Sally & Fane go through hell & back to get the loved up couple reunited & bonded. What a crazy adventure with some interesting news for Jen at the end.

The friendship and determination of these 3 friends - Jacque, Sally & Jen was just as amazing as the last book and left me yearning for a friendship such a theirs. I think their friendship is what makes these books so much more than all the others out there. Fun, funny & unconditional. Oh Fane, everyone needs man like you in their life, someone who loves them with all the tlc, passion & protectiveness you do. You complete me, I mean Jacque :D my bad.

Jen & Dec - where to begin? Oh they were so much fun! I laughed out loud so many times at this pair and can not wait to see where Quinn takes them next, I am sure the sizzle of their passion and the clash of their stubbornness will make for another sensational read.

I can not wait for the next in the series & am very much looking forward to reading more about Fane, Jacque, Jen, Dec & Sally.

I would highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a good ya romance with a little paranormal mixed in...

5 shooting stars!

This series does well if you need an angsty teen vampire series. The pace is quick, the teens dramatic and sarcastic and there are werewolves, so....yeah it was pretty good.

description

There is insta love, mates, rival packs, brooding, possessive men, and talking through minds. It covers the things I need when I am in a reading slump and just need easy light fun reads.

SPOILERS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I am interested to see where Loftis is going to take this series. I noticed there are like over 10 books and I assume the rest will be about the two friends Jen and Sally. But even then that seems like a lot. I hope there is more about Jacques and Fane in the other books. Although less of the I love you so much stuff. I mean I was getting embarassed hearing their vows. And everytime they had "moments" in front of other people I was cringing so bad! PDA is not my thing. But still a good read.

horrible predictable bad guy...this whole book is bs conflict to drag out the bonding ceremony and introduce Jen mate stuff....

*eyes roll* every time I saw Logans name I skim or skipped over it...otherwise I would have thrown the book at the wall till it fell out of the binding

I can not comprehend everyone's 5 star reviews....this book is horrible!

Quinn Loftis offers laugh out load funny novels that will grab readers with the witty humor and intense romance. I have been anxiously awaited this novel, and it was far exceeded my expectations. Jacque and Fane mesmerized readers with this heart stopping romance in Prince of Wolves. Book two Blood Rites starts up right when the first book ended, and will have readers jumping and running through this fast awesome read. The addition of another palpable romance adds to the complexity of this lovable tale; while bring supporting characters into the limelight. It was fun to see the characters transform in this book. I am certain that we can look for these characters to continue throughout the remaining installments of The Grey Wolves series. There were also a few new addition to the cast in this book, and I was excited to see the developments for this characters as well. Especially in the development of Jacque’s Father. Quinn allows his character to be better understood and cherished I hope to see more of his character in the future. I even found myself to sympathize within these pages. The overall of feel of these novels are absolute intensity and momentum, but the addition of humor make the entire book. Jen is the majority of our comic relief , and I just can’t get over her character. I LOVE HER!!!! I was completely floored by the development of her character as well throughout this novel, and can’t wait to see the outcome of her situation in book three. It is obvious that Jen and Jacque are growing through this two novels, and I can’t wait to see what the future novels hold for the both of them. In the end, Loftis leaves me speechless and flabbergasted with this addictive read. I have trouble effectively expressing my love for this book, and its ability to increase my heart rate and take my breath away. As my newest addition to my favorites list I must recommend this series.

I just finished Blood Rites, the second in the Grey Wolves series by Quinn Loftis, and I absolutely loved it. I read the first in the series, Prince of Wolves, and immediately began Blood Rites, because I had become so engrossed in the lives of Jacque and Fane, and couldn't wait to see what happened next. It was the kind of book that made you want to crawl up in it and live there. The love story between Jacque and Fane was intense, romantic, with an element of danger that kept me turning page after page because I didn't want to put it down. I loved Jacque's friends Jen and Sally, and their humor, which really made the book enjoyable with many laugh out loud moments. It is filled with scenes of intense action, suspense, and danger, which keeps you on the edge of your seat also. I love the take on the werewolves in this book. There have been a ton of books about vampires, and it was nice to see one focused on the werewolves. I really enjoyed the way Quinn made Fane and the other werewolves in this book have such likeable and human characteristics, instead of the monster version you see in a lot of books and movies where the werewolves turn at the full moon and become beasts with no human characteristics or reasoning left at all. My husband laughed at me at looked at me like I was crazy because I told him these were "Good Werewolves," LOL. All in all, if you are a fan of paranormal romance, you will love Blood Rites. It will make you laugh, cry, swoon, and as Jen, Jacque and Sally would say, Fane is "drool worthy." I can't wait for the next in the series, Just one Drop. I highly recommend this book and would encourage you to read the entire Grey Wolves Series by Quinn Loftis.

If you read Prince of Wolves, you know you've been chomping at the bits to get some more of Fane and Jacque and Blood Rites does not disappoint! Things were left untied between Fane and Jacque in Prince of Wolves, but you get the much needed conclusion in Blood Rites. It is sensual, which we adults all know we wanted, but remains appropriate for the teen reader.

New conflicts are introduced with different characters, so we are left with the need to know what's going to happen. I'm just as excited about the story developing between the new protagonist and antagonist. (Don't wish to spoil the read by revealing who they are. You'll have to read it for yourself to find out.) Well, readers, we'll just have to wait for the next book to find out. Ms. Loftis, we are waiting!!

I am so BLOWN away with this series. I am loving it!! Quinn Loftis has done a FANTASTIC job introducing us to a world of supernatural that is unique and familiar at the same time.
Blood Rites begins exactly where Prince Of Wolves leaves off and we are getting ready for the Blood Rites ceremony...you just know right then that something is going to happen, and WOW, do events happen. This go around, Loftis has opened us up to the minds of other characters in the book, not just Fane and Jacque's POV. It is refreshing to move around and see the thoughts of the others and I believe this is what will lead us in to Just One Drop knowing who it is about.
Again, Loftis has spun a tale filled with action, turmoil, humor, romance, and this is a DEFINITE MUST READ!!
Heading on to the next one...

So seconds after reading Princes of Wolves I purchased Blood Rites. I know I'm pathetic but I just had to see what happens next to Jacque and Fane and I couldn't get enough of Jen & Sally's smart ass comments. I truly did enjoy this story almost as much as Prince of Wolves. There were more points in this book were I found my self sighing in frustration but those sighs quickly turned to laughs or gasp from shock. If you read the 1st book then you know the 2nd book will not disappoint.

I truly loved this book! While I loved the completion of the original story arc, my favorite part was the introductions of the Jen/Decebel arc. I can not wait to see this play out! I love the Jen character!!!! I really feel the author hit her stride with this book and loved to see her writing grow! I will be buying her next book the minute it becomes available!

OK I have to say, this book was a little better than the last one as far as the annoying dialogue goes. It was still there, and about 3 pages into the book I was asking myself why I just bought another book full of Jacque, Jen and Sally. But as it turns out, Jen and Jacque are unconscious for part of the book and then separated for another good portion. So it was more bearable when it was only 2 girls making dumb sarcastic comments at inappropriate times.

First what I liked about the book. Most definitely Fane. I loved his protective nature and the love that just oozed from his pores. I loved it. This story was kind of the same plot as the first book. Another wolf wants his mate, except this one took it a bit further and actually kidnapped her. That added a different element to the book that the last book didn't have because it came down to Fane rescuing Jacque, and I'm a sucker for rescues. :)

I also liked the thing that Jen and Decebel obviously have going on. It was fun seeing Decebel start to come out his shell and start throw some zingers at Jen that left her speechless. In fact those were some of my favorite moments, when Decebel left Jen speechless. HA! The next book is about Jen and Decebel, but I'm just not sure I can stomach a whole book about Jen. I'm gonna have to think on this one.

I forgot to mention this in my review of the first book, but I loved that Quinn Loftis added a lot of Romanian into the conversations. I LOVE books with different languages in them. Hott!

And this is a minor part, but I like that Jacque's dad ended up not being a douche. I like that he saw he was wrong and his reasons for wanting to take her away were more selfish than the reasons he was given. I mean come on, poor Fane can't be held responsible for a car accident. I felt so bad for him every time someone blamed him for that. It was completely out of his control. He can't predict the future. :( Poor Fane. But like I said, I think her dad redeemed himself.

LOVED the Bonding ceremony! I LOVED that he proposed to her and she accepted and married him on the spot. I kept thinking to myself, throughout the book 'why won't she just marry him?' Well she DID!! And I LOVED how it all played out. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!

Some complaints.

First, what was up with Jacques mom after the car wreck? How many mom's go into such shock that they leave their ONLY child to burn to death in a car? That didn't seem very realistic to me. I think her mom would have moved heaven and earth to get her daughter out of that car and to safety. OK lets say that she did go into that terrible state of shock and later realizes at the hospital that she left her daughters teenage friends the job of getting her unconscious daughter out of the car and out of harms way. Hello?!! What parent wouldn't be wracked with horrible guilt? Another thing about the whole car wreck thing. I thought the girls SAW Logan standing there right before the wreck. Why didn't any of them recognize him when he was introduced later in the hospital? That didn't make any sense.

Speaking of Logan, I thought it was annoying that he had to go through and explain his whole plan chapters before implementing it. It kind of made it a little redundant to read it all over again when it actually happened. I think his planning should have been more vague so when it came time to take Jacque, we didn't exactly know what to expect.

One of my favorite scenes in this book was when Fane found out Jacque's dad was invoking Alpha rights and wanted to take her. Fane went into a rage and destroyed a waiting room. I loved it!! :) (Part of that will be in my favorite quotes.) Just the thought of her getting taken from him did that. And yet, when she actually was taken from him, he was very subdued... it wasn't consistent. I kept waiting for his wolf to burst out and for him to go tearing through the city howling for his lost mate. I expected SOMETHING after the scene he created at just the thought of losing her. I was disappointed however because he kept himself in check and didn't rage at all until he saw in her dream what Logan had done to her. But even then, his father was able to calm him. But in the hospital he actually defied his Alpha's orders before Jacque was ever taken. grrrr

My final complaint is of course about Sally and Jen. Could those girls not be serious for one second. They get in a car accident, almost burn to death, 2 of them end up in a coma with most of their body covered in burns. After they wake up Jacque starts screaming in pain and is taken to ICU, she disappears for almost a week and who knows what is happening to her at the hands of this crazed wolf, and Sally and Jen are STILL joking and being sarcastic at the most somber of times. It made me so mad. Could they not show some respect? Jen said that she feels its her responsibility to joke and lighten the mood because if she can joke then it will relax every one and give them hope that everything will all work out. But I didn't see it that way. I saw at as callous. Their friend is being tortured in a sense and you're making jokes? It's just not the time. It's disrespectful. It annoyed the crap out of me.

Here is an example. They are all in a burning car that has just wrecked and flipped over numerous times. Instead of screaming and freaking out and trying to GET OUT OF THE CAR!!!!! Jen is joking while they all sit there and await their death. Lilly, Jacque's mom, and this is before she goes into such a state of shock that she is practically catatonic, tells Jen to stop with the smart remarks because they aren't helping the situation. To which Jen replies:

"It's okay Ms.P. Not many of us handle being burned alive very well, it's a little traumatic,"

What?! You're car is freaking on fire!!! Your friend is unconscious and you are joking. Ugh that is SO annoying!!

Here's another passage that didn't make sense to me, during the fire this is Jen's internal thought as she is trying to get her friend out of a burning car.

"DAMMIT SALLY JUST GO!" Jen hated yelling at her but she had to keep her focused, she was also beginning to realize that she cursed a whole lot more when she was under pressure. Oh well, could be worse, Jen thought.

What could be worse? Is she talking about the fact that she could be cursing at a worse time? That the situation could be worse? Because I see it really COULDN'T get much worse at that point. That sentence made no sense. Annoyed me!

I seem to be on a roll here, so I might as well keep going.

Jen and Jacque have finally woken up from their month long coma's... within hours of each other I might add. Convenient. They are being wheeled into their new joint room where Sally is waiting.

"Oh, come on Sal. If you keep looking at me like I'm a sick puppy you found in a ditch I'm going to smother you with a pillow in your sleep." Jacque winked at her friend despite her tough words.

"Bloody hell, here I thought I was the reigning female dog in this posse." Jen grinned at Sally.

And just like that I was already wishing their were back in their coma's. Because for the next 5 pages, it is the three of them going back and forth with comments like those. Pull my hair out ANNOYING!

Despite all this complaining I have just done I did like the book, believe it or not. I think the reason I am complaining so bad about this book is because it has the potential to be one of my favorites. I LOVED the story, I LOVED Fane's love and fierce protectiveness for Jacque. I love the whole idea the author came up with about a werewolf searching for his mate and when they find each other they are drawn to each other in such a way that other unmated werewolves want it and try to take it even though it doesn't work that way. So I want to "love" this book not just "like" it. But I can't because of all the reasons I just listed. :(

FAVORITE QUOTES

"I don't know what idiot thought it was smarter to let a woman enter a room before him. How does he know if it is safe for her to enter if he does not check it out himself? It's actually a much more caring act to go before her, therefore ensuring that nothing will harm her,"

~Decebel

"[...] Whatever it is, Fane is royally pissed off," she answered.

"No pun intended, but" Jen laughed, "get it? Royally pissed, cuz he's a prince... anyone, no... no takers? Okay then."

~Jacque and Jen

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OK this is a long quote. I just LOVED this scene!!! This was after Fane found out Jacque's dad wanted to invoke Alpha rights and take her away from Fane until her 18th birthday, that was 2 months away. Just to set the scene, this first quote is right after Fane was in a rage trashing the hospital waiting room and his father used his Alpha "power" to drive Fane to his knees with his head lowered not making eye contact in a show of submission.
"Înţeleg cǎ sunteţi supăraţi, am înţeles sunteţi doare, dar eu sunt încǎ în stadiul alpha-ul tău, vă va prezenta la mine, Fane. (I undersand you are angry, I understand you are hurting, but I am still your Alpha, you will submit to me, Fane). You know I will not let anything happen to Jacque, trust me. If not as your Alpha, then as your father."
After a few moments of silence Fane finally stood up and looked at his father. "I don't know if I can do that. You ask too much, Dillon Jacobs asks too much. I may not be Pack Alpha of the Romanian Greys, but I'm more dominant than Jacobs. He will not take what is mine. I'm sorry Alpha, but in this I cannot obey." Fane didn't wait for his father to respond as he turned and left the waiting area, headed back to Jacquelyn's room.
This next part is a couple of pages later in Jacque's hospital room.
(*sidenote- Alina is Fane's mother)
Jacque would have acknowledged her friends efforts to defend her had the door not flew open and a raging, pissed off werewolf prince walked in. His power swirled around them so strong that Alina let out a whine, sounding alarmingly like a wolf in pain. Even Jacque felt the dormant wolf gene in her wanting to submit to the power of the Alpha wolf in Fane. It was getting hard to breathe the air was so thick with his anger. He walked over to Jacque, whose head was bowed and turned so that her neck was bared. It was like she knew instinctively to submit so as to not provoke the dominant wolf and hopefully she would subdue him in her surrender. Fane's wolf must have been the one in control of the wheel because he leaned down over Jacque and growled low. He placed his face against her neck, breathing deep, and his voice was guttural when he spoke. "Mine."
Jacque turned her head slightly and did what no other would ever be able to do when this Alpha was at this point, she looked him in the eyes. "Yes, I am yours." As soon as the words were out of her mouth, Fane pulled his power in and all of the sudden it was like a weight had been lifted and they could breathe again.
See? With a powerful scene like that I get so excited about the story! I wish the rest of the book could have captured me like this instead of annoying me with stupid dialogue.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Last quote, sorry I know, I'm getting carried away. This is shortly after the scene above where Jacque is still trying to calm Fane and and get him back in control of his wolf.

"You sit," his mate told him.

"No, I stand."

"Me Tarzan, you Jane," Sally mumbled.

"Snap, you beat me to it. [...]"

4.5*

Holy crap. Things just got a whole new level of intense.

And may I say, I am in complete aw of Jacque and Fane. So cute, a bit intense (like every single relationship with a werewolf) but cute.

This had much more action and I kinda loved it! Way better than the first one, for sure.
I read it in a day... what else can you expect from me xD

Oh oh, one more thing. I loved that this has humor in it too, makes it a bit lighter at times, also made me smile and laugh...

Oh and this cover isn't that bad... it could be better but I love it anyway.

I enjoyed this book more than the first. It might be because a lot of the big reveals happened in that one, so there wasn't anything to suspend belief on people's reactions, and the world was already explained.

It somewhat feel like a repeat of the first, but at the same time the motives were different. It was understandable that a certain person was involved, considering what had happened in the first book, but I was pleased about the outcome.

I excited to read the next book, as it focuses more on Jen. This book made me very curious about her history and what it'll mean for her future.
