Karen Farrington is a former journalist who has contributed to numerous publications on military history. She has also written extensively on assassinations, natural disasters, & religion.
A good introduction, even if some of the information has changed since this book's publication. Lovely photos as well. Worth the price used simply for the photos.
While the writing isn't exactly unbiased -- and time has inevitably rendered some of the text outdated and inaccurate -- the pictures are beautiful and the basic background makes Farrington's work worth a view, especially for someone who just wants basic background or who is just starting to find out about Fabergé.
