The dark guilds have allied, and the only thing that Fairy Tail can do to stop them is to ally with three other guilds and try to take on the most powerful wizards in the underworld. But the dark guild wizards won't wait for our heroes to make the first move! This volume begins the epic Nirvana storyline!

Eeh!
Our guild celebrates at the harvest festival after their victorious fight and it also has an unexpected surprise. Later, Lucy gets a shocking surprise of her own in the form of her now disheveling-looking father who claims to have lost his whole wealth and is now asking for her help. Meanwhile, there’s an alliance brewing between the dark guilds and our guild makes their way into the Nirvana forest with Wendy, a young girl and her magical cat Carla beside them. They suddenly get ambushed by the dark guild Oración Seis and it becomes dangerously fatal. A (100%/Outstanding)
"Even if I can't see you, even if you have gone far, far away, I will always be looking out for you. Now and forever, I'll be looking out for you!"
The sixteenth volume in the Fairy Tail manga is when the fun really begins. The Oracion Seis are here and they are so powerful that not even Fairy Tail can defeat them on their own. So, as the dark guilds form their own alliances, the light guilds have started to form one of their own. It is Fairy Tail, Blue Pegasus, Lamia Scale and Cait Shelter against the deadly Oracion Seis. (Strangely, Ultear disappeared after one quick view. I wonder what the other dark guilds are up to while Oracion Seis is busy with Nirvana.)
Anyhow, here is where the Nirvana arc begins and I have to be honest, it couldn't be better! I love the Oracion Seis. And I especially love how powerful they are. But more importantly, I love the way this new arc begins. The Battle of Fairy Tail has just ended and it is high time for the fairies to rejoice. I loved the Fantasia Day Parade. It was beautiful. And those memories that the grandpa-grandson duo had were beautiful. I wonder what will Laxus do next. Maybe join his dad's guild? (It was mentioned, wasn't it? I really can't remember at this moment.)
Once the parade is over, it is finally time to search for a new job too. But a stranger arrives, following Lucy. The events that hold after that are too funny for me to say anything about. I mean, I get that they were emotional in a way, but hey, can't blame a girl for laughing at it. So they decide what to do next. But before they can take a proper rest or even think of something amazing to do, here comes a job that is not only not rewarding them money (sorry Lucy, we'll think about your rent next time!) but is also going to take a huge toll on them.
Phew! I'm glad I'm not a wizard. Being one would have landed me in harmful situations all the time!
A new arc is here! Lucy's father appears (and doesn't get life) and of course Lucy isn't happy about it but I did like the small bit of backstory we got, it is time to get scrambling as something mysterious and dark is happening far away so guilds are forming allies which I absolutely loved as we got to see a bit more of the world + the other guilds, we meet Wendy (and that annoying cat that accompanies her), and there is more. It was a rollercoaster that is for sure!
13-16. Added manually because it wouldn't open in the kindle phone app. The problem with manga is that it's so easy to binge read and that's what I did. The entire Laxus vs Fairytail arc read and done. Jellal is over and done with, Lucy's father trying to get money out of her and Laxus realising what's actually in his heart. His reaction to Fairy law damage was funny.
Onto Oracion seis and Raven tail. I can't stand these guys.

This is a strange start to a new arc where the "top" members of different guilds are starting to work together to take out some of the outlaw or dark guilds. It is an interesting group and the end of this issue was also very interesting.
I like kind of this story, it likes avengers. Especially, the characterization of them is interesting. Why did the author choose a Japanese host? Ichiya uses a perfume magic but his appearance is not handsome so it is weird for me a little.
After the battle with laxus, natsu and lucy have a few surprises for them lucys dad was (which is what he gets for being so mean and comtrolling to lucy), they see some of the people they fought before like Lyon returns, and the new character Wendy is a dragon slayer. The book was so surprising i would rate it 6 stars if i could.

So the Laxus arc came to an end. It was sad to see him go, hopefully he comes back in the future. His departing scene really got to me, i definitely did not cry a bit 😢 but maybe when we see him next he’ll have more of an understanding of what it means to be in a guild.
Oh and we learned that Gajeel is a double agent? What does that mean he’s working for both Ivan and the master? If he’s working for the master too does that mean he still wants to take down fairy tail with Ivan? So many unanswered questions!
The second park of this volume introduced a new story. Where we got to meet some new characters and some old ones returned. It was nice seeing Lyon again and finding out he joined a guild. Also, we met Wendy and Carla. Wendy is so young and cute and I can’t wait to see the person she grows into… this is me hoping that she becomes a permanent member in FT. Maybe she’ll be taken under Ezra and Lucy’s wing? Finally, I love Carla already. Heheh. Totally not shipping Happy and Carla. But from the looks of it Happy is already in love.
The first part of this volume is finishing up the aftermath of the last arc, and if there was any doubt before that Fairy Tail is an awesome guild to be part of, the end of that arc dispels them. They're a pretty fun and forgiving group, and the deal with Laxus is kind of cool.
Then we get into the next arc - we've been hearing about dark guilds, and it was nice to finally get to see how they work in the grand scheme of things. It was also pretty cool - if a bit disturbing - to meet the members of the other guilds.
Porlyusica’s magic saves Masters life Laxus turns up at the guild to see the master Gajeel has to translate what Natsu is saying cause his mouth is all wrapped up Laxus and Makarov have a stern talk, the Master expels Laxus The rest of the Thunder Legion are shattered and beg him to take them too, saying they’ll quit and that they should be expelled too Fantasia parade looks so pretty in the manga Everyone in the fantasia parade lifts their hands in the symbol Laxus made! Gajeel is with A dark wizard guild master: Master Ivan who also is Laxus’s father Laxus had a Lacrima crystal put in his body when he was young with dragon slayer magic It’s made to think Gajeel is betraying Fairytail but it’s the other way around. Makarov assigned Gajeel to find him Freed shaved his head in apology Erza won the Miss Faiytail contest, with Lucy coming 2nd and Juvia 3rd Lucy’s dad been creeping in crowds He meets her in the street on the way home, revealing his business had been brought from under him and he lost everything. Lucy’s mums grace was moved elsewhere He tried to act like he wanted to see her, but in reality he just wanted money (10 thousand jewel) so he can get a head start on joining the Enterprise Guild He harasses her saying “my daughter should be able to cough up a messly 10 grand on the spot” she tells him to leave, he does She hears that the Enterprise Guild is being held up, and all though she despises her Father, Lucy sets of to save him When she’s there, it is all blocked off by kingdom guards saying it’s dangerous and they’re looking for the help of a nearby guild Lucy gets Virgo to tunnel under the gate and into the building Lucy takes them all out by herself (and her celestial) Her dad was only just arriving in the town when she got everyone to safety. It’s revealed that the guild (the name Love&Lucky) was where he had met her mother. They decided to leave when they were pregnant. The sign was missing the K from ‘Lucky’ so they decided if they were to have a girl, her name would be ‘Lucy’ Introduction to two new Dark Wizard Guilds: Naked Mummy and Oraciōn Seis First Introduction to Cobra The A Team has to pick up waitressing/waitering for their next job Council member, Yajima (old short man with bushy eyebrows over eyes) retired and took up cooking instead, that’s who they were waitressing for Ultear is a member of dark guild: Grimoire Heart. Serving Master Hades (who looks like José?) Grimoire Hearts is looking for a key of sorts to remove the seal on Zeref 3 big Wizard guilds ( Balam Alliance) these include: Oraciōn Seis / Grimoire Heart / Tartaros Master Makarov reveals that they will be taking on Oraciōn Seis, FairyTail will be making an alliance with another guild to ensure the whole Balam Alliance won’t target FairyTail. FairyTail, Blue Pegasus, Lamia Scale and Cait Shelter are forming the alliance together Hibiki, Eve, Ren and Ichiya from Blue Pegasus. Lyon, Sherry and Jura (one of the 10 wizard saints) from Lamia Scale and Wendy (and Carla) from Cait Shelter. Just as everyone rushes off to find and fight the dark wizards, Ichiya stop Jura, attacking him. Turns out it was the celestial spirit Gemini, owned by Angel ( a celestial mage) Christina (the magical steel ship) gets shot out of the sky the moment the mages see it Oraciōn Seis meets them first. Taking them all down quickly.. no hesitation Brain stops his massive attack once they’re all down, because he see’s Wendy… Why did he stop?

My copy of this volume was a mess with part of two chapters in the wrong order. It's an inexcusable oversight by such a big publisher. When I was reading it and it skipped from page 96 to 113, I was very annoyed and decided to read those pages online and was planning on going to the store in a few days to see if I can exchange it even though I bought the box set either last year or in 2021 but I had to try, then I got to page 128 and we were on page 97. At first I thought that maybe the page numbers are just wrong but then I realized there were pages missing because I had seen the anime a few years ago so I knew there was more plus it felt like something was missing anyways. So I'm not going to try to exchange this but it's still an annoying and unexceptable mistake to make.
It really annoyed me that Natsu forgave Laxus so easily even after everything he did and tried to do. I do like that he's such a nice guy and can forgive people easily but at the same time I also hate that he can forgive people so easily. He's kind of like Naruto (there are just some people you don't forgive, no matter how sad of a back story they have, I'm talking about Naruto here, otherwise people would have forgiven Hitler but thankfully that's not how the real world works, he doesn't deserve forgiveness, no I'm not comparing Laxus to him, this is about Pain and the other villains from Naruto Shippuden). I like that Makarov was strict with Laxus instead of just letting him stay, there has to be consequences for tryingto kill your guild mates and causing so much physical and emotional pain on purpose. I think the reason Laxus being the enemy and then Natsu forgiving him so easily versus forgiving Gajeel and Juvia is that those two were from a different guild whereas Laxus is from Faity Tail, so it's far worse since it's a betrayal and two things I hate so much are betrayal and cheating on your partner (although I guess cheating is similar to betrayal). I do remember how much he changed in the later arcs when he comes back and I do end up liking him but that's because Makarak kicked him out and he was forced to learn how the world is and become humble.
This will be my full review for this entire series. I already read this comic from volume 1-30. Suppose there 50 volume more of this series but I prefer not to finish it as I don't really like the time-skip idea in this series.
To clarify, I love the idea of time-skip. But, in this series, I really hate it. It make Natsu and other main member weaker. Why make them weaker? I want to see MC progress throughout the series. Then, suddenly become weaker. Not to mention when MC want to win each battle, power of friendship keep coming back each battle.
Furthermore, there are a lot of un-explained things happened in this series. The dots are not connected rather than scattered throughout the series. It just there to fill the plot-hole. Rather than explaining, Mr Hiro keep continuing the series and keep adding new characters each volume.
So, after the time-skip, I determine to stop reading this series. I don't want to ruin my memories of this awesome series. For most part, this series actually had huge potential because of interesting and lovable character, but the plot is keep on damaging this series slowly.
The Laxus story arc (where Laxus tries to take over the Fairy Tail guild by having everyone fight each other, leaving him in charge) ends with the unsurprising defeat of Laxus. The very ending of the arc is sweeter than expected. Then the guild has their fantasia celebration as part of Magnolia's harvest festival (Magnolia is the town where the Fairy Tail guild hall is located). A new storyline starts with several Dark Guilds teaming up to seize control of a special ancient magic called Nirvana. Fairy Tail teams up with other guilds to send their top wizards to fight the Oracion Seis, a Dark Guild with only six wizards. Naturally they are supremely powerful wizards so the fight will not be easy.
The book also has a side story about Lucy's father, who has fallen on hard times. It's also sweeter than expected but does seem more like filler than part of a greater story arc.
The repercussions of the Guild Civil War are apparent in the first part of this volume! Then we move onto something I definitely didn’t see coming….making alliances with other Guilds to combat a greater evil! This further introduces more characters and again allows the stakes to be raised yet again! I honestly was shocked a bit by this pivot in direction…nothing over the top and nothing that was weird but I guess because there has been so much investment in the Fairy Tail Guild I didn’t expect the expansion of characters to continue and go in this direction. It is a welcomed addition and I believe will allow for further character development and more fun stories. Blue Pegasus, Lamia Scale and Cait Shelter all are introduced in this volume. I can already see an interesting dynamic and think this will add more hijinks and adventures to an already pretty well stocked cast and crew!
The first half of this volume was 5 stars and had be crying by the end of Fantasia. The way the Laxus's story ended was absolutely perfect and I can't wait to see if he comes back into the story with how this next chapter of Fairy Tail is playing out. I am completely lost at this point with Gajeel and I have no idea what is true and what is not. Needless to say, I didn't think I could feel so many feelings in 58 pages of manga but man did I ever.
I was really hoping for another amazing volume that I could fall in love with but the meet up of the 4 guilds just really creeped me out. I'm sure it was meant on purpose but I can say 100% that I am not a fan of Ichiya or his magic.
3.5/5 The first couple chapters are wrap up of The Battle of Fairy Tail. I particularly enjoyed the Fantasia chapter it’s good stuff. After that we start building into the next arc. Much of the first half is explaining the Dark Guild Alliances and how Fairy Tail is joining and alliance as well with 3 other guilds to take on the dark guild Oracion Seis.
A ton of new characters are introduced as the alliances team up. There’s like 6 new characters there alone and then Oracion Seis introduces their 6 members as well.
The volume is interesting but it really is all build up and introductions.

Thoughts on this volume: • Did I cry? Yes, I did. Did I also play the Fairy Tail theme on Spotify when the fantasia festival was happening during the L sign thumbs up scene? Yeah baby that's why I was crying. • ORACION SEIS ARC!!! WENDY!!!! YEEEEAAAHHHHH!!! • I love the intros for the new characters and Lyon coming back! • I forgot about Ichiya's annoying ass which is so fucking funny considering Mashima also regularly forgets about him, too. • Jura had hair for like 5 seconds, right? He HAD hair?

This rating is confusing so I'm going to break it down.
End of the arc: 5 stars It's honestly an emotional ending and I really really enjoyed it overall.
Filler: 4 stars The filler chapters are interesting. They're honestly pretty amusing and there's even some character building thrown in.
New arc start: 2 stars They threw 4+ more guilds at you, plus a ton of new characters and are expecting you to keep up. It felt insanely rushed to fit into this volume.
The end of one arc, the start of another. This particular volume felt almost like it was more filler than story. Normally I like it when Hiro Mashima does side stories or small arcs. But this time it just felt a little too thrown together at the last moment.
Overall, it was a good and interesting start to the next arc. I look forward to seeing what happens next as always.
It’s so worth getting to read it translated in English with the Q’s I don’t feel as lost now in the story but.. there’s like 60 issues! And I wanna read them all I’ll go broke before I can get to the end! Waaah.. I love dragons too!
