The Soul-Linked Saga #2

The Lobos' HeartSong

Rate this book
The sexually-charged interstellar adventure begun in the best-selling The Dracons' Woman ramps up the action in Book Two of the Soul-Linked Saga, Lariah Daniels, newly-bonded Princess and pregnant soul-mate to the three Royal Princes of Jasan, has invited her best friend from Earth, library security guard and martial arts practitioner Saige Taylor, to visit her on that distant planet. What was planned as some pleasant girl-bonding time catapults Saige into a series of perilous adventures involving kidnappings, conspiracy, spaceship hijacking, galactic intrigue, a plot by the evil aliens known as the Xanti to destroy the peoples of the Thousand Worlds, and—not to mention—finding out that she may be fated to be joined spiritually and physically with the Lobo brothers, three incredibly gorgeous, nearly identical triplets who shape shift into enormous black and white striped wolves. Saige must call upon her wits, her skills as a fighter, and all the resources of her spirit and heart to meet these challenges and, perhaps, to fulfill her destiny as the Lobos’ HeartSong.

The Lobos’ HeartSong is a full-length 115,000 word novel, a fitting follow-up to The Dracons’ Woman, and is chock-full of the drama, excitement, and erotic energy that fans of Laura Jo Phillips have come to expect.

This book did end up being better than the first. What I liked about this book is that men, although protectors, did not act like they knew best for everyone sending problems to their headquarters and talking to their ruling council which makes more sense than some books I have read.

The relationship between this quadruplet was a little better although the men were very mild, with only small bursts of manliness (?). Anyway, I liked the book and am planning on going right to the third book as I bought this in a bundle.

4 1/2 stars. Entertaining read. Had a lot of similarities to the first book in this series. Reading the first book is a good idea--even though this story has it's own set of main characters and HEA--since it really is a continuation of the previous story. I really liked the heroine--not whiney, and very strong--in an emotional and "kick-butt" way. Heroes are good too--typical alpha males. Again, there were very spicy intimate scenes, but the plot came first--which I prefer. Looking forward to the next book!

This book is second in the series and did not disappoint. Scifi alien shapeshifter menage. The Lobos Brothers find their Arima (fated mate). We learn a little more about the bad guys and revisit the Dracons. Once again I think the author has done a good job world building along with some really hot menage lovin'. The mystery and intrigue continue. If you enjoy a well written, alien love story continue on with this book in the series. I'm moving on to the third book now :0

Sage wakes up bound with a gag in her mouth. And not in a fun kinky way. She was actually on her way to Jasan to visit her friend Lariah and getting kidnaped was not part of the plan. What a way to start a vacation!
She was rescued pretty quickly, but those who tried to kidnap her won't stop so easily.

The second book was rather repetitive. It basically follows the same script as the first one, but with a different set of characters.
Sage could be quite unreasonable at times. For example, the brothers told her about their mating fangs and how they can only appear for one woman and one woman only. And yet she insist they find someone else, who will bear them children. Hello? Were you not listening? They cannot physically be with anyone else!
And some things were completely ridiculous. Like, she cannot get overly exited in fear of causing another seizure, but sex is okey? Because that could not possibly get her exited, right?
And, I gotta say, for a species that want to have a quiet existence and mostly keep to themselves, Jason sure have a lot of enemies.

I don't know, maybe I was just not in a right mood for this book, but I did not enjoy it as much as I hoped to. The writing was still pretty good and I liked this set of characters a little more than those from the first book, but the plot in general was lacking.

Plowed through

It's been some weeks since I read the 1st one. I still have so many unanswered questions! The love story wasn't bad, it moved faster but was not the main focus of the book. While I always appreciate visiting former characters in a series it felt like the book was split between Lari and men and Saige and men. Oh, and Slater and the Xanti and evil Darleen and Lio and... With all that there is to keep up with I appreciate the longer books, though. If all that was crammed I to a 200pg book there'd be nothing left for the main characters. Please don't think this is pure criticism! I just wonder if it wouldn't be easier to do the previous character visitations and alien POV in in-between novellas? I love her writing style. The descriptions and phrasing don't leave you guessing or questioning. There is always a HEA...at least in the 2 books I've read by her. I love the RH romance, especially a sci fi one! I just am left feeling overwhelmed at the end of each book and need a series break before the next I guess.

I absolutely love this series! in book 2 you still hear from lariah and her rami but the main focus is on saige and the lobos. saige has been diagnosed with a very bad illness that causes seizures and could kill her at any time. the lobos end up injured and trust the wrong woman before they meet saige. this book has it all you begin to learn about the xanti and their role in the series. you learn what a berezi is there is alot of spice and i mean alot! this book has kept me interested since day one and i have read the full series twice now each book gets better and better i encourage anyone who likes reverse harems and shifters and aliens to give this series a try I'm glad i did.

Enjoyed

I am enjoying the series. Their is still some parts that I bypass, because it gets a little complicated in understanding the logic of the world, bit still enjoy. I think the cover could be a little more appealing, however the story is worth the read, will continuing reading.

Great story

Honestly, this one is just as good as the last, and yet just as bad. As long as you're patient enough to get through the writing errors and the formatting problems, I think you will really like this story.

Good read

A good book if you are looking for a paranormal romance with multiple mates. It does ring a bit like book one only with different characters.

Lovely!

Very much enjoyed Saige's story with the Lobos. It was fun to see more of Lariah and the Dracons, I loved that the story progressed with them too. Very satisfying!

Book 2 of the Soul-Linked Saga. It's advisable to read Book 1 'The Dracons Woman' first.

I liked this book as much as Book 1, 'The Dracons Woman'.

We are introduced to more new characters who could be in future books, and the mystery of what is about to happen to the Jasanis deepens.

The Hs and h are all likeable, but there is very little individual development of the male characters compared to the females. It would have been better if the male characters had some 'alone time' and conversations with the h... very little of that. we don't know much at all about them as individuals.

Regardless, the story line is good, and I will be reading the next one for sure.

NOTE ADDED 02/12/2012: I have re-read most of this because the third book has just been released and I didn't remember some things before reading the new book.

This one is much like the last the author did try to mix things up a little but some things are just revamped from the last book. Still corny dialogue. I don't think the author was as enthused about the lobos like she was with the dracons. She did more on the story and the characters were more of an after thought. After reading this book I don't feel like I know the lobos very well. She kinda sped through them, like the characters got in the way of the story she wanted to tell. But again good story development. I do have to say it was comical how Garen just kept popping in on the Lobos 3-way ritual like he just opened the dor and told them what to do and ran out! Haha the ritual in this book wasn't as sensuous as the 1st one. Sped through the 2 biggest events in the book the birth and the ritual.

Great story. Love this series so far. This book picks up several months after the ending of the first.
Saige Taylor is on her way to Jasan to visit her friend Lariah, who had disappeared with out a trace. Saige is kidnapped off the ship and rescue by the Beaten brothers. When the Lobo brothers come to escort her to the Dracon ranch they find their Arima in Saige.
Saige's near kidnapping brings to light that Lariah and Saige's near kidnapping's were not isolated. That potential Arima's are being targeted, and 125 human women have gone missing in route to Jasan.
A new enemy is revealed. A beautiful soul and friend is lost. Hope to the Jasan Clans in the birth of the Dtacan's female triples, and the Lobo's finding their Arima.
Fun, fast paced and steamy story.

Security guard and orphan (Saige Taylor/virgin) ignores her disease impairment and boards the Cosmic Glory to visit her friend, now Princess Nahoa-Arima Lariah Dracon living on planet Jasan. Royal guardians, shape-shifting (loboencas/wolves), and magical (fire/earth) male-set (Faron, Davon, and Banon Lobo/414/nearly identical triplets) protect their genetic mate, after her rescue from being paralyzed, abused, and stuffed in a slavery ring’s crate.

REC: Storyline evolves with good continuity, presenting more enemies, a jealous wanna-be, and more about a high-tech woman-oppression device. As
these alphas welcome an equal partner, the courting and loving are tempered (warning: all orifices). Enjoyable; read on.

I'm really enjoying The Soul-Linked Saga! And I think Laura Jo Phillips created a wonderful fantasy world where we almost see you there with all those characters we've come to love.
This is the second book of The Soul-Linked Saga, where we learn some of the answers that were pending in The Dracons'Woman and a few more that were left unanswered in this book.
You are welcome to Jasan and read the love stories... and other things * wink * wink *, you are also welcome to join the mystery and become Sherlock Holmes and try to solve the questions that appear in the books.
I loved the story of this quartet! :)
I want to know more ... I want more books. :)

I enjoyed the continuation of this series. The plot starts to get a little more involved and Saige is a strong character. I think the only downside is that the storyline between Saige & the Lobos follows the same line as the previous book. But it is lovely to see the Dracons again & how they are settling into their lives together.

I decided to finally pull this book off my tbr list and I am so glad I did. It was a really good read. I liked that it was hot and the guys were nice. Plus there was no BDSM like in the first one so I enjoyed this one a whole lot more.

I didn't think this one was as awesome as the first one, but it is definitely worth picking up to read as a second string book.

This was actually better than book one so I would rate it at 2 1/2, but same issues. I am persevering with this series because it really does have potential.
