I have a dark secret, one that can never see the light of day…
I’m obsessed with my best friend. What I feel for him goes beyond love.
Bastian is the only person who makes my black heart beat, but he thinks our relationship is wrong.
He’s afraid of what others will think about us.
Until we meet Alex.
She’s the glue that holds our unconventional relationship together. The one person who can make Bastian see that what we have isn’t dirty and shameful.
I’m a hunter and go after what I want, and I won’t stop until…
This was a good backstory/prequel for Damien. Gave a lot of timeline on the entirety of the series which was sort of nice since it’s been a minute since I read the series.
This is basically a novella that should be read before the first book in the Devils Creek series. It gives a great insight in to the Salvatore brothers, and especially Damian and Bastian.
We follow from Damians pov from high school, thru college, past initiation to the Devils Knights, all the while testing, teasing and basically mentally torturing the girl who is meant to marry one of their brothers, either the elder Luca or Marcello.
The brothers are all cold and cruel but have their own weak spot. Damians and Bastian is each other. They are secretly together but "what happens in the dark must never see the light".
Bastian is terrified of coming out and won't entertain it. So much so he won't kiss Damian or have full sex - until they're allowed to have Alex join them.
Alex is the heiress that needs to marry Luca or Marcello but the brothers all agree to share her after.... Not that she knows this. Yet.
I wonder how she's going to affect them because she seems to affect them from day one. Luca gives her a nickname which he would never normally. Bastian falls for her quickly, which means Damians is on board happily. Marcello watches her constantly.
So how will this queen to be affect the kings to be? Be interesting to watch!

The tale of Bastian Kincaid and Damian Townsend's integration into the Salvatore family is a blend of intrigue, sorrow, and darkness. These two have chosen to be brothers since birth, destined to be in each other's lives as their families were best friends. Bastian, the elder by three months, and Damian experienced tragedy when their parents, owners of Atlantic Airline, perished in a plane explosion over the ocean—a terrorist act unknown at the time. After enduring cruelty at the hands of Bastian's grandfather, they were rescued and adopted by Arlo Salvatore, who raised them alongside his biological sons, Luca and Marcello. Luca, the eldest and leader, is just a few months senior to Bastian, followed by Damian. The narrative unfolds primarily through Damian's eyes, presumably the 'darkest prince.' Despite Damian's deep love for his brother Bastian, their bond transcends traditional labels, not quite gay but perhaps bisexual. Damian struggles with social interactions, while Bastian, a musical prodigy since age two, provides him with solace and protection from self-harm. Their saga, entwined with that of Luca, Marcello, and Alexandra Wellington—their focus of affection and key to entering the Founder's Society due to her birthright—unravels complex layers. Unbeknownst to them until recently, Alexandra and her brother Aiden's lineage is significant; their mother was responsible for the death of Eve, Arlo Salvatore's wife, and the mother of Luca and Marcello. Luca's impending marriage to Alexandra will grant his family entry into the Founder's Society, a status Bastian and Damian do not require. Can't wait to start the journey of the Salvatore brothers.
The Princes of Devil's Creek was my first series back into reading...
Yes dark romance is was brought on my love of reading. With that in mind these brothers and Alex hold a dear spot within my heart!!!
While all the brothers a delicious in their own ways the dark prince - Damian has always intrigued me. With his psychopath tendency and blood lust it has made me wonder about how he was able to have the STRONG connection with Bash for all these years. Then once knowing Bash wants to bring Alex into the mix how he was able to handle that, along with sharing with Luca and Marcello.
Jillian lets us get to see how Damian truly seen everything that happened between Bash and him. Damian was always a interesting character. We get to see how he truly fell for Bash and then Alex. Once he knew the way to get Bash to FULLY commit to their relationship was to make sure Alex was with them.
Thus turning his obsession from just Bash to also include Alex.
While I do wish we could have seen more of Damians POV later after the brothers brought Alex home. Like the time the brothers took her v-card, or the first time Alex, Bash, and Damian were together.
I'm not a huge fan of bully romances, but I think this one worked better for me because it was clear that Bastian and Damian didn't like what they were being asked to do, so they really didn't do the bullying well. Plus, it wasn't bullying in the way that has gotten on my nerves in the past. The kind where it's not explained why the hero or heroes are bullying the heroine. She may not have known, but it was explained to the reader.
I always having a hard time picturing teenage boys having this much power, and it's even worse when they are in HS instead of college and if so, much of this book hadn't taken place in high school I may have thought they were older.
I was glad to see the moments where Alex gave back as much as she got but hated those moments when they ignored her, and she just seemed to be so happy to have their attention. I wish she would have let that defiant nature hang out more in those instances.
By the end I was curious enough to want to see how things are going to progress in the rest of the series.
I got it free on kindle so i wanted to give this a try and finish it. Idk if the world built on this series was already established upon the release of this book. But this one is ONE MASSIVE TEASE. And on thing i hate abt this is the REDUNDANCY. like frigging owning her and so and so feels like is said every other page. Or it felt like the author kept reminding herself of it upon finishing each chapter. It was infuriating to be honest. I like fmc whether they are a tease, a naive or a frigging addict, but man i hated the FMC in here. I hoped this book just meant that she is already the queen they felt her out to be, cause if it wasn't the case this was such a trying-hard dark book, it's a shame. I've read darker highschool romances but even then the fmcs isn't a pushover.
This story is told from only Damian's perspective before the events that start to occur in Cruel Princes. I loved reading this book because it truly gives insight on Damian and Bash's relationship. It's obvious that Bash and Damian love each other.
It was fascinating to read how Damian loves Bash but doesn't realise that what he is feeling for Bash is actually love, just his own unique style of Love.
I Love that Alex just fits into their relationship so effortlessly and I am so glad that I was able to read the series!! It's definitely worth the read!!!
Super spicy too!!!

When I picked this up I didn’t realize it was a prequel of sorts. So the ending really pissed me off. But, now I guess if I want some sense of satisfaction I need to pick up the series.
It’s a slow burn, that doesn’t actually ever culminate. So beware.
The back story of the two MMCs is pretty good, it really builds them. But the LONG timeline and jumps were a struggle for me to keep interested.
I find myself attached to Damian so I will probably try to continue this story, but the FMC I don’t like at all at the end of this. Hoping she really blossoms and the series unravels.
I just finished this book and now I want all the serie from Damian POV.
I loved the fact that we could see Damian obsession with Bash and how it extended to Alex. I loved the dynamic between Damian and Bash and being able to see how much they both care about Alex in their own way even before they had the possibility to know her. We get to see how different they all were before Alex entered the equation and knowing were they ended up it was an amazing change to witness.
Please please please give us something else from Damian POV, or from Bash, that would be amazing.

This book may have been a 5 star read for me because it was the head space I was in after the last book I read, but I ate this book up! I loved it so much I immediately got the rest of the books to read. It was exactly what I needed to read. Good, solid plot, heavy on the smut, and not a whole lot to try to figure out. It was great and I read it in a day. I was using it as a kind of palate cleanser, and loved it. I love how different, yet tied together and kindred the characters are. Give this a try. It a lot of fun and keeps you engaged.
I am glad I read the prequel first... because I am unsure on this series. I understand it was meant to be a shorter book and a pre-lude to the next but it states that it can be read before or after the first book. I feel like you get a lot of back story to Damien and Bast, and some of the other two brothers but it jumps around a LOT and it was a bit hard to follow the time lines that were set.
3/5 Stars 2/5 for Spice 3/5 For plot
This is an iffy for me on if I will read the rest of the series.
I’m so torn with this rating/review because ultimately I did like this story. Damien is one of my favorite brothers and I love that I have a book from his POV. I thoroughly enjoyed the spice between him and Bash but ultimately I felt let down that I never got to the dynamics of the throuple between Damien his “Pet” and Bash, maybe I just went into this TOO blind but felt like this was a slow burn that just never gave me what I truly desired.
Just don’t. Another dark romance that focuses on Stockholm syndrome and tries to make r@pė look like CNC. No means no, bro. Four dudes telling a woman that her No doesn’t really mean no, it doesn’t matter what she really wants, and they know better than she does is super icky. They make her wait for years only to abduct her and force her to bend to their will. I couldn’t even finish it at that point.
I have always loved Damian since Cruel Princes. And after reading the Darkest Prince I love him even more. Getting inside of his head and his emotions added so much to the character. And of course there was some great spice and the connection between him and Bash is just perfect.
This was awful. I wish I would have known the book starts off with the cast in high school before I picked it up. There is nothing less intimidating to me than edgy teenage boys who think they are sooo powerful. Bleh. It doesn't get any better when they move to college and beyond. Bland, repetitive, lacking in plot, and with a heroine that has no personality, I'm just glad the book was short.
I loved reading the beginning of the cruel princes story from Damien’s pov he was a character that initially had to grow on me but I came to love towards the end of the series. I hope to get more books from his pov for the rest of their story with Alex.
Bash and Damien have a place in my heart that I don't think should be there, but is. Luca can just fuck off honestly. I'm really going to need to read the next books, I'm emotionally invested now. I'd give this a 4.5 star honestly.
What did i just read? This is dark and dirty as hell. The first few pages were literally dirty deeds but weirdly enough i finished the book without issue. I want to read all the others. But it was repetitive stuff with no real end point. I guess thats how you keep people hot for it hahaha.
Usually Prequels feel like an afterthought. This one feels like a standalone book, which I loved. From the point of view of our lovely Damian, which makes the story even better!
Yeahh so....i liked it. It's my first MMF romance. I like that it's fast-paced but it's a bit cringy at times and i needed more spice. I get that its a prequel tho, but i like it but i dont like it enough to actually read the book.
I didn’t think there was a ton of plot here. Lots of smut, may try the next book to see if it gets any better but won’t be in a rush to pick up the next book
