n "If I Profane with My Unworthiest Hand" Mr. Rose crafts a juicy cerebral short story that starts normal but soon veers off course leading the reader on an outstanding ride through the downfall of a married couple.
Don't be fooled into thinking this is just an other failed love story because it's not. The age-old debate of Science versus Religion enters and a man must choose his marriage or the greatest scientific discovery.
If you're a Science Fiction fan and love quick reads, do yourself a favor and read this along with Michael K. Rose's other works
I read this story in another collection of shorts by Michael K. Rose. This was definitely one of my favorites. It involves a couple married for a very long time. In the end, their neglect to realize how wrong they are for each other is their undoing as the husband delves into a project that he has obsessed over.
A great sample of the intricate storytelling that is a staple in all of Michael K. Rose's work.
Reminiscent of some of the more obscure Ray Bradbury shorts, "If I Profane with My Unworthiest Hand" is a thought-provoking, well-written and sad story. Rose answers the question "does love conquer all?" in a way that's not what you might expect.
