I just don't buy the premise. There are somethings in this world that are beyond our control. Our strength comes from learning how to deal with that with grace.

The basic model of this book--that our apparent experience in this world is a holographic projection from another dimension of our selves--maps fairly well onto the claims of A Course in Miracles. Your real self is an expanded, infinite being; or an extension of God if you will.

What A Course in Miracles (ACIM) might describe as this world when seen through the Ego/Wrong Mind parallels what Scheinfeld calls Phase 1.

What A Course in Miracles decribes as the happy dream or the real world (as contrasted with Heaven) might parallel what Scheinfeld calls Phase 2.

Both see that your experience depends on CHOOSING, reclaiming your power as the DECISION MAKER. If you choose to give up judgment and instead focus on what Scheinfeld calls appreciation or what ACIM calls forgiveness/atonement, you find life much easier and happier. Scheinfeld seems to think it is an odd thing that what he calls your Expanded Self makes life seem like a struggle in Phase 1, but once you break through enough "cloud cover" to reveal your true self the Expanded Self is then on your side. Why would the Expanded Self really have two opposite goals for your experience? It's not so paradoxical in ACIM terms, where the Ego *is* against your true self but through the process of breaking down the Ego and putting the H. S. in charge you achieve happiness, atonement, abundance as well.

Bummer for me is that a lot of the URLs listed at the end of the book don't seem to work.

I read Busting Loose from the Money Game first and I'm glad I did. Because I think this book helped me even more to remember the concepts and apply The Process and to Trust. I think along with other concepts that we may be working with, it's likely important to spend time focusing on ONE at a time, and the Busting Loose concept is one of those things. At least for me, I need to focus my energy on the tools and spend time practicing them in order to make progress, instead of using these tools a supplements, they need to be the main things. I say that now, but will I apply that to my life? I would love to bust loose and need to increase my belief that I can. And that's all on me.

“Your Expanded Self sees no horror in any of those experiences and is actually having an absolute blast playing The Human Game, no matter what story is playing itself out on the illusory playing field. The Real You knows none of those experiences are real and it’s all just a game.” pg. 25

“Self-help tools like visualization, affirmations, manifestation techniques, the law of attraction, and other popular self-help techniques are brilliant Phase 1 creations. Why? Because we create them, we convince ourselves they’re real, and we apply them, but they don’t work consistently (or at all), and that creates confusion, frustration, and limitations that perfectly reinforce the goals of Phase 1.” pg. 29

“It’s always about feelings. The external experiences matter only to the extent that they trigger the inner feelings we love so much.” pg. 37

“As I mentioned earlier, Phase 1 of The Human Game is about totally immersing yourself in the illusion of the three-dimensional world and convincing yourself it’s real. Your Consciousness and your Expanded Self are real. The Field is real. The patterns your Expanded Self creates in The Field are real. The power your Expanded Self applies to the patterns in The Field is real. But everything else you see and experience in your hologram in Phase 1 of The Human Game is just a holographic illusion. You may be able to accept this now, or you may not. But if you want to bust loose from The Business Game, you must get to the point where that Truth becomes very real for you.” pg. 71

“You can’t see or experience anything unless your Expanded Self creates a pattern in The Field and adds power to pop out the illusion of it—and whatever is in the pattern is what you see and experience (including money, bank balances, and financial statements). Like Hollywood, Consciousness is constantly pushing the envelope on making the patterns more and more sophisticated and the illusions appear more and more real.” pg. 73

“Key Points
- You + Your Expanded Self = Consciousness.
- You’re not just watching a hologram; you’re actually creating everything in it—including yourself.
- Nothing you experience is real.
- It’s all completely made up.
- It’s all a creation of your Consciousness.
- Your Expanded Self has direct access to The Field.
- Your Expanded Self designs the patterns.
- Your Expanded Self manages the application of power to the patterns.
- Your Expanded Self controls what pops into your holographic illusion as guided by the life purpose and mission you chose when you decided to play The Human Game.” pg. 76-77

“Key Point
As hard as it may be to believe, when other Players appear in your hologram, they’re 100 percent your creation. No one has any power of independent decision-making authority in your hologram beyond what your Expanded Self gives them through the script details to support you in playing The Human Game.” pg. 80

“Key Point
There is no cause and effect within the hologram. Your Consciousness, your Expanded Self, is always the cause and the hologram is always the effect.” pg. 90

“Key Point
Everything that happens as you play The Business Game is coming from patterns in The Field, shaped and determined by your Expanded Self to support your playing The Human Game the way you really want to—in Phase 1 and Phase 2.” pg. 92

“Key Point
Your Expanded Self writes the script for what happens in your business and for all the people, places, things, and events that appear to affect or influence it. You’re just an actor playing your part!” pg. 92

“Critical Key Point
Judgment is the glue that keeps illusions locked into place and appearing real in your hologram.” pg. 113

“Key Point
Whenever you create and experience the illusion of receiving a good or service in your hologram, there are three aspects of the creation to Appreciate:
1. Yourself for how amazing you had to be to create that illusion and make it appear so real.
2. Your creation—be it person, place, or thing—for how amazingly real it seems; for how perfectly he, she, or it is supporting you in playing The Human Game and The Business Game; and for the specific benefit you received from it (the enjoyment of the contributions of an employee, a meal, printing, advertising, accounting services, raw material for an inventory item, and so on).
3. The True Creative Process that made 1 and 2 possible.” pg. 122

“So, what happens in Phase 1? First, we don’t allow ourselves to Appreciate ourselves or what we do very much, if at all. What’s that experience typically called? Insecurity or low self-esteem, and we all have huge amounts of it buried deep within us. Even if we’d say we feel pretty good about certain aspects of ourselves or our achievements, deep down we don’t—and we can’t after The Phase 1 Miracle has been locked in.” pg. 123

“I express this Appreciation from the infinite abundance that’s my natural state, knowing that as I do it, this expression will just expand and reflect right back to me.” pg. 127

“Key Point
It’s possible and very easy to fully Appreciate what you already have, even if you may choose to create something else at another time.” pg. 132

“If resistance, anxiousness, anxeity, or worry come up as you consider letting go of the illusion of power or control over events and experiences in your hologram, or as you actually begin to let go, you have the opportunity to apply The Process to it. You were never in control in Phase 1, anyway. There never was any power in the hologram, regarding your thoughts, actions, or decisions. It was all an illusion. Your Expanded Self was always in control and always had the power, so by letting go and trusting your Expanded Self in Phase 2, you’re just affirming The Truth, living from it, and expanding beyond all the stress, pain, and limitation you experienced while pretending the opposite was true.” pg. 168

“. . .let me share three additional insights with you to complement what I just said about judgment:
1. You can’t fix, change, or improve an illusion. It’s not real. There’s nothing to fix, change, or improve. It’s all smoke and mirrors!
2. As you use the tools, drill through the cloud cover, and expand in Phase 2, you’ll get to a point where you’re feeling massive Appreciation for everything exactly the way it is, without any desire to change, fix, or improve anything.
3. When yo reach the point just described, that’s when the door will open for a new pattern to be inserted into The Field, but not before. In Phase 2, in general (as an Infinite Being, you could create something different) as long as you want something to change, it won’t!” pg. 173

“All your creations, all illusions, are perfect exactly as they are. They wouldn’t be in your hologram if there weren’t a pattern in The Field that got energized to create them exactly the way they are. There wouldn’t be a pattern in The Field if your Expanded Self didn’t put one there—intentionally, based on a brilliant plan—to support you perfectly on your journey, no matter what definition, label, or judgment you might apply to the creation.” pg. 175

“Because your Expanded Self will be writing new stories with new characters who will say and do new things, all designed to help you play as you choose to play, with no need for any Phase 1 limiting dynamics to be a factor.” pg. 212

“When you expand to the point where you have a direct experience of your infinite abundance—and not before—money does take care of itself—however it takes care of itself. You have no limits or restriction of any kind related to money. However, you cannot rush your journey to that experience or make it happen out of intellect, willpower, self-discipline, desire, or intention. You can only use the drilling tools and expand to the point where it becomes True for you as a direct experience and direct knowing.” pg. 216

“Expressing Appreciation in the form of money then becomes like breathing. You don’t worry about where your next breath will come from, do you? You don’t measure or track how much air is available to you right now—or how much will be available to you in the future. You don’t try to get more air or protect the air you already have. You just breathe without thinking about it, and you have total faith that air will always be there for you. Living from your natural state of infinite abundance works the same way. You just breathe your abundance as the supply appears to move in and out.” pg. 217

“Key Point
What you do in Phase 2 doesn’t matter. How and why you do it and the overall level of fun you experience are all that matter.” pg. 221

“Key Point
Opening to your infinite abundance means letting go of thoughts and concerns about how you will receive it or how you must act to receive it.” pg. 225

“Trust
As quickly as you’re able to do it, and you will be able to do it as you knock out cloud cover and expand, I invite you to let go of the illusion of wanting to control or manipulate the hologram. Let go of the Phase 1 trick of needing to be proactive and taking massive action to make things happen or get things done. Let go of goals, agendas, and investments in results and outcomes.
Trust your Expanded Self and simply follow its lead. Relax into the Phase 2 game and allow your Expanded Self to lead you to the treasure. When you’re unable to fully trust or let go, give yourself a break and recognize it’s just another opportunity to apply The Process, because distrust and holding on are just different forms of discomfort.” pg. 239

The ego controls Phase 1. Phase 2 reveals your True Self. Let go of the Phase 1 illusion of control. Scheinfeld teaches a simple process that replaces the Phase 1 illusions with Phase 2 abundance. The Phase 2 process opens your business to so much more. I highly recommend Busting Loose from the Business Game for your business and personal life.

All the "busting Loose" series (Busting Loose from the Money Game:, etc) have pretty much the same message -- you can struggle and suffer, or just lie back and enjoy the ride. Control is an illusion with painful consequences. Facing and diving into the 'painful' things that occur, that push your buttons, is actually the way out. Another way of putting this is, it's about how to get into, and stay in your zone.

This is a very unique book to say the least. It's downright odd but very captivating and very thought-provoking. It is somewhat along the lines of "The Secret" in terms of changing your mindset to look at the world differently. You will really need to be open minded while reading this book.

I recommended this book to two friends and neither of them could get through it. But I think it's pretty cool. Give it a try and see what you think.

This book take the cake for, "Can't judge a book by its cover." I have little desire for business pursuits, but anyone chasing enlgihtenment, empowerment, or freedom from their compulsive egoic misperception and the illusions of life, then this is a 'must read'
