An easy-to-read, pocket-sized primer on brief coaching basics. Filled with sample dialogues and a variety of tools and techniques, this pocket guide offers a highly practical and condensed introduction to the principles of solution-focused coaching.
Short and fast read. It's basically motivational interviewing in a shorter scale, more compact in this book. Still a good one, given its a good method.
This book was required for a certification I'm working towards and I'm honestly so thankful. I don't say this about many books, but I plan to read this as often as I need to in order to keep the concepts fresh in my mind.
I had never heard of brief coaching prior to this book. The authors break down each part so clearly and concisely. There are "experiments" included after every section and summaries of the main scripts used.
If you're looking for a coaching method aimed at actually equipping clients with self-confidence & tools to work towards their goals (while maintaining your own boundaries).... Here it is.
Super practical and quick intro on solution-focused coaching. I read it in preparation for my interview with the book's transcreator Kirsten Dierolf where we explored the philosophical foundations and then demoed the coaching approach: https://open.spotify.com/episode/7rCZ...
I guess it will replace 'The Coaching Habit' as #1 coaching book for leaders and "everyday coaches".
The book coaching plain & simple (affiliate link) by Peter Szabo and Daniel Meir will provide the reader with some simple techniques to become a business or personal development coach. Their concept of solution-focused brief coaching helps you move the client to a solution sooner than focusing on the problem.
