A good read for a hurtful topic like this. I like that its written as not too complicated and also not too simplified. It covers the main things an incest survivor has to face. Its useful for all who want to understand this topic better, whether you are going through this yourself or helping someone close to you. Its definitely more helpful when you work this book through with a therapist, because it can be bit too much to do it alone.

This is an EXCELLENT book! Written by a woman who was sexually abused by her father, and written for the teenage audience, I STRONGLY believe that EVERYONE should read this book!!! If you were ever sexually abused, if you know anyone who was ever sexually abused, or if you are a parent of someone who was sexually abused, then you should read this book. And, unfortunately - this means EVERYONE! There is literally no one who has not been touched in some way by this issue. I am hopeful to get several copies of this book donated so that we can give it to every one of our clients. This book is the essence of what we are doing here at the Children's Advocacy Center. If you have ever been abused - IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT!!!!! And, you CAN heal! Choose to heal! Choose to not be alone in this world. You are worthwhile. You are valuable. You deserve happiness. And, you should read this book!

This book is well written and very instructional for children dealing with sexual abuse, as well as their friends and family. My only issue with it is that in an attempt to speak to children in familiar language, the book uses some outdated slang. It also uses illustrations of teens from the early 90s. Aside from that, it's a useful book that won't overwhelm kids.

This is upfront, clear and surprisingly not bitter. Very recommended for people who work with kids (teachers, etc.) or people who work with people who used to be kids. Opens the discussion quite a bit.
