This book is a fact-based fiction, fantasy adventure that creates awareness of environmental issues such as shark finning and whaling, without being too "Greenpeace"-like. Aquariana, the ocean comes to 12 yr. old Saphira in her dreams taking her on journeys to show her how we humans are destroying her children. Saphira must find her way through a maze of dreams to save the sharks and King Dakos, then find her way back to reality to save herself. You are sure to fall in love with the magical, mystical and mythological characters all while learning about the horrors that we are inflicting upon them. Would make a wonderful movie. Young-adult, but a great read for all ages.
