Tortured souls and healing wounds
This is a good continuation of Heidi's story, which we got just a taste of in Allie's. I love a good interconnected story. You may still want to read the other book first for context but could get by with this as a standalone. Christopher is a tortured soul who isn't looking for love again, but it was so sweet to watch him slowly crack, then break apart all at once!

The author paints a vivid picture of deep trauma and the recovery process, showing her readers how each character works through the hurts they've suffered in the past.
This story follows Heidi/Micaela (that is explained as the story goes on) and Christopher as they attempt and spectacularly fail at a "friends with benefits" arrangement in the Dom/sub lifestyle. Alexander gives the reader a glimpse of the lifestyle and takes care to point out the respect and trust the main characters have for one another, something that helps to explain the D/s bond but also helps those unfamiliar with the practice to gain some insight.
I loved the reappearance of Alexandra and Sebastian, their love and support being a crucial part of the story in addition to the main relationship between Heidi and Christopher.
There's D/s play, laughter, romance, heartbreak, healing and a bit of a thriller twist hidden in there...all the elements of a great story.

Heidi has everything she could ever want, until she discovers her Dom Tristan cheating on her with his ex, she’s done, she walks away from him, not looking back. She makes the decision to move to Seattle to be closer to her best friend Allie, making the most of a fresh start.
On a night out with Allie and Katie, Heidi is letting her submissive side come out to play at club Dominion. She is hoping for an encounter with a specific Dom and she gets more than she bargained for, being her birthday, one can hope, and when her wish comes true, her encounter with Christopher becomes more than what she hoped for.
But there is more to Christopher than meets the eye, he is a reserved man. He has known heartache and loss, between his role as Master at Dominion and running his business, he has closed himself off to love, but there is something about Heidi that makes him feel, and he is not ready to open that part of himself again.

She calls on her friends Allie and Katie, who help her to make sense of her situation and make a decisive choice. And in doing so Micaela enter into a friends with benefits D/ s relationship with Christopher, much to his excitement.
And when she discloses her agreement with Christopher to her brother Sebastian, she feels anxious about how he will respond and feel about the situation, however Sebastian accepts it for what it is, but is disappointed that Christopher didn’t disclose there agreement to him sooner.
The relationship between Micaela and Christopher intensifies, as he continues to draw out her pleasure, alighting her senses, manipulating her body, thoughts, feelings and emotions, testing her limits giving her heightened pain, giving her everything and more.
Yet the collaring ceremony between Dan and Katie, begins to illicit changes for the both of them, changes they are not yet willing to address, yet. But a phone call from Brianna, his stepmother changes the course of his evening when he learns his dad has been admitted into hospital. His prognosis dire.
But it is during an intense scene that Micaela utters those three words, ones she knows he will most likely not reciprocate, the tension is palpable, and when she comes clean to Christopher about her feelings towards him, and he questions the validity of there relationship, he is hurt, but more-so when Micaela makes the choice to walk away from him, knowing in full awareness that he couldn’t give her what she wanted, breaking both their hearts in the process.
Christopher is feeling the loss of Micaela in his space, the concept of love, with her scares him, and when he sees Sebastian for the first time in a month, he feels guilty. He apologises for his actions and for keeping the truth from him, it is during this conversation that Christopher admits that he is in love with Michael, and sets about making amends with their relationship.
After his revelation, he reconnects with his father, both having a heart to heart, making amends for their future, atoning their past mistakes. This gives Christopher the confidence he needs to put his past behind him, for what was, he will now accept what is, and that is a future with Micaela.
Christopher reaches out to Micaela, to start making amends, yet her anxiety about seeing him gets the best of her, with Allie and Katie by her side they help her to see sense, yet when she learns her brother has ordered Christopher to fix his mess, does she become exasperated by there meddling, but she knows there hearts are in the right place.
And when an accident lands Micaela in the hospital, he comes face to face with his step mother Brianna. And when he learns the shocking truths about her machinations against the people he loves, he doesn’t have anything else to give, simply walking away, justice served.
And then the moment of truth, he finally comes face to face with Micaela, apologising to her for how he has handled everything, but more so how he has come to accept his feeling for her, he is all in, both finally exchanging those all important three words to each other.
Because that HEA, it was bittersweet as it was perfect, and one couldn’t have asked for a better ending than that.
And those blazing hot BDSM scenes, whew! Christopher’s possessiveness and obsessive need for control and dominance with Micaela, their foreplay it was off the charts. Their need for each other was possessive, wicked and depraved, Christopher own’s Micaela’s heart as Micaela own Christopher’s. Those s*x scenes were blazing hot, downright dirty and physical, it had all the pleasure and passion one would expect for Christopher will be all that Micaela will need for Christopher will always get what he wants, each giving the other the passion and pleasure, they deserve.
This book has it all a possessive, hot alpha Dom, a strong, sassy, yet bratty submissive female, friends with benefits, angst, family secrets, betrayals, hot as spice, touch her and growl vibes, family and friend dynamics, mayhem, defiance, jealousy, twists and truths.

Great read!!
This was an intense and entertaining read. I was completely captivated right from the beginning until the very last page. The storyline was exquisite, and the spice was perfection. It had a bit of everything: romance, suspense, drama, plot twists, and exotic spiciness. I really loved Christopher and Michaela. Their relationship was sexy and caring. I want to say so much more, but I will leave it with - read this book!

I read this in basically one sitting. Putting it down long enough to make some food. The story had me drawn in within the first couple pages. Everytime I thought I had it figured out, it would surprise me. I really enjoyed this read.

Exquisite Temptation tells the story of Heidi and Christopher, both damaged souls from past events. Christopher is afraid to love, and Heidi has been betrayed by the people she loves.
I'm not massively into BDSM romances, but I'm a bigger fan of the BD, less of the SM. Each to their own, but I don't love degradation, so some of the scenes were a little difficult for me. The intimate scenes were well done but might not be to everyone's taste. But these acts are all consensual and what the characters enjoy, and they act responsibly with safe words and contracts.
The storyline was interesting and kept me invested. Along with the spicy scenes, we have betrayal, secrets, a hint of danger, and heartbreak to contend with. Along with a stubborn Dom that finally learns his lesson.
This story was a fun read, and I'd absolutely recommend to those who enjoy BDSM romances.

While on a girls night out at a bdsm club, she crosses paths with Christopher. Insta connection but Christopher has a broken heart as well and is not willing to commit.
This is an alpha Dom but not an aggressive one outside the playroom. He is respectful and knows how to push all her buttons to get the O's.
There were times where I would have liked to know the time lapse between chapters but overall the story had good pace. FYI, Christopher is hot.
The play scenes were spicy and a great variety which was refreshing. Also a healthy representation of BDSM. Definitely a good book and series for the kink without being too aggressive. Book does contain trigger warnings so if you're likely to have any, read them.

Whoa….I’m still fanning myself to cool down after reading Exquisite Temptation by Lillie Alexander! This novel is burning hot! If you are into BDSM and/or Dom/sub sexy time, then you NEED to read this novel because it is exactly what you desire for your next read!
The main female character, Heidi, embodies everything that I look for in female main character. Yes, she’s a submissive BUT she is definitely not weak. I really enjoyed the fact that all of the characters are well versed in the BDSM and dominatrix club scene. There wasn’t any of the wishy-washy, “I don’t know if I should be doing this…” type monologue. Nope. Heidi knew exactly what she wanted and she wasn’t afraid to relish and indulge in her desires. Her friends were also involved in the BDSM scene, which created a supportive environment within the characters’ circle with absolutely NO slut shaming! The environment Lillie creates is like a breath of fresh…steamy…air.
Consent is another thing that Lillie features in Exquisite Temptation that is unfortunately left out of other novels in the same genre. BDSM encounters, scenes, relationship, etc need to have rules (more like expectations/limits) and expressed consent. By having consent, Lillie makes the story more believable.
The men of Exquisite Temptation are F.I.N.E! Oooh my goodness if a man ever called me “Pet” like Christopher calls Heidi….I would be a quivering puddle on the floor. So. Freaking. Hot!!
Finally, this novel also has suspense tossed in for good measure. The characters are flawed with their own background issues, which are revealed in page-turning ways.
Overall, Exquisite Temptation was exactly the hot & steamy story I’ve been needing in my life. There’s no doubt that this book isn’t for everyone. If you don’t enjoy BDSM flavored relationships and everything surrounding them….you won’t enjoy this story. However, if BDSM gets your happy spots tingling, make sure you add Exquisite Temptation by Lillie Alexander to your Reading Right Now List!!

While I enjoyed parts of this book, I honestly struggled to like either character. I thought Christopher was nothing but a sadistic AH who didn’t have a single redeeming quality to his name. He got his kicks on hurting women but to me needed some serious counseling. I felt sorry for Heidi on the other hand as I thought she was so desperate for love, she’d have a relationship with Christopher. Are women really that pathetic and weak to allow a man to gag them and put them in a cage? What is the attraction there? Then he inspects her? WTF! She’s not merchandise..she is a human being. Treat her with respect for gods sake. He treated her worse than an animal! He made her crawl? What exactly am I missing here…as I honestly don’t understand. She thinks with her V and not her brain. They both need counseling not BDSM. This book was so not for me. I’ve read mafia romances where the characters treat their women better! Heck, my pets are treated much better than Heidi was. Steamy, Sweet, and full of heart!
I don't normally read such a genre, but I must admit that I was quite hooked while reading this story. Not only do I find it very intriguing to read about such activities that I could never see myself doing, but the twists and turns in this story kept me reading as I wondered what on earth was going to happen next. Family secrets finally brought to light, intertwining of lives in a surprising way, and newfound love for two people who wondered if it was ever in the cards for them again. There's so much here to unravel and dig into, and I loved every second of it.

I'd like to give Heidi and Christopher's story a 3.75. Their dynamic is unique, and Lillie was able to capture that perfectly. I love when an author introduces characters in one book, then creates a whole story around them, so if you haven't read Exquisite Surrender, you should, though it is not completely necessary to this storyline. While most of Exquisite Temptation is well written, there were a few parts that had me wondering 'what is going on?' and 'seriously, did that just happen?' But the spice is great and it may just be an introduction to a different BDSM dynamic then most are used to reading about.

Exquisite Temptation is a standalone contemporary BDSM romance. This is and interconnected series and in world as Exquisite Surrender. (It's not necessary, but recommended to read that one)
This is soooo good! I binge read both of these books in a course of two days. TWO DAYS of heartbreaking trauma, two days of the hot tension between Dom/Bratty Sub....and I'd do it again too. Heidi(Micaela) and Christopher were such complex characters and very well developed. This is such a very well written and love the character crossover. Hope we get more from this universe.
This is soooo good! I binge read both of these books in a course of two days. TWO DAYS of heartbreaking trauma, two days of the hot tension between Dom/Bratty Sub....and I'd do it again too. Heidi(Micaela) and Christopher were such complex characters and very well developed. This is such a very well written and love the character crossover. Hope we get more from this universe.

First let me say that I read this book out of order. To get the best experience Exquisite Surrender should be read first. With that being said I really enjoyed this story. Christopher and Heidi have both had suffering in their lives and they come together in such a relatable way. There is no easy road to their HEA but the fight is worth it in the end. In addition, the BDSM scenes are just wonderfully spicy and delicious. Definitely going to go back and read the first book.

This book was amazing and hawt Af! I want to find someone like Christopher that man not only is drop dead gorgeous , he’s smart and a little damaged. Heidi also has a big heart and she likes pain. When they both meet at his club well things go really hawt and heavy . Despite their escapades there were a lot of discoveries some were bittersweet others made you want revenge . This book was well written and the ending was just amazing!

A fantastic read from Lillie, it was the perfect blend of spicy, a little darkness, humour and suspense.
I adored Heidi, she was strong, knew what she wanted but was also vulnerable- you instantly get drawn into her story and want to everything to work out for. Then we have Christopher who has gone through so much that he's closed his heart off - in walks Heidi and changes everything. Oh, and there's a lot of BDSM (D/S relationship), which definitely added to the spicy scenes!

Oh yeah this is a BDSM romance and it has a lot of smut. There is action and and an evil antagonist and I figured out who it was, but I don’t do spoilers. There is a smutty HEA at the end and I recommend this story and I will look for more by this writer. This is her first story that I have read by her and I wasn’t disappointed

Michaela and Christopher go through every emotion in this book. I read this in one sitting ,yes I stayed up all night and it was totally worth it. Hot AF. Loved it I would love to see more from this series as the first in this series (Sebastian and Alexandra) was just as good.

Christopher and Heidi's story is about overcoming the past. It is also about being comfortable with who you are. Heidi spent a lot time trying to figure out who she is and Christopher I feel helped her along the way. This book kept me turning pages and invested in how these two turned out.
