I've no idea where this book came from. Must be the book fairy again.
I'll not rate it because it's not the book's fault it's not my style. I prefer Shabby Chic, Country/Pioneer Woman and/or vintage. This book seems more 80s or 90s to me. I can't really pinpoint the style. Plus it also includes recipes. But nothing caught my eye.
I did see a DIY I liked: vintage hankee stocking. And I also liked the Christmas tree decorated in tea cups.
Not nearly as dated as I thought this was going to be when I pulled it out from the basement. Some good ideas, some wtf, and some that I won't use, but it is staying in the library here for now...
Read the title again Simply Christmas: Renew the Spirit, 201 Easy Crafts, Food and Decorating Ideas. That pretty much says it all. The inside cover says:
The first Christmas was beautifully simple. As a single star shown over the manger, elegant gifts of love were brought to the newborn King and the world rejoiced.
As we think about that first Christmas and about those special Christmases in each of our lives, we think of genuine pleasures of handmade gifts, warm greetings, twinkling lights, shiny ornaments on evergreen trees, joyous Christmas carols, delightful flavors from the kitchen, and quiet nights with friends and family filled with smiles and secrets.
Renew the spirit of Christmas in your home by making your holiday one to remember with simple yet beautiful ideas you can make easily - oftentimes in an evening. You'll find perfect ideas for decorating greeting, cooking and baking, gift-giving, entertaining, lighting even a chapter on displaying those treasures from Christmases past.
Christmas can be beautifully simple. So, this year, celebrate and enjoy the most cherished of all seasons by making your holiday Simply Christmas.
What none of these people seem to understand is that I have no time at all to make any of their ideas in December. I am really, really busy in December, and November and October for that matter, any new Christmas ideas I'll have to start trying probably sometime in September.
