Her mate.

There are recurring characters in this hot paranormal series but each book can stand alone.
From the moment bear shifter Pola gets a whiff of a particular wildflower scent she's a goner! Human Shekita's scent has been left on a desk she custom made for Pola's best friend Saffron. It takes some coaxing but the mating call cannot be denied. The bear will protect her human and eventually (when allowed) mark her. Happiness calls for Pola and Shekita.
Ariel Marie has written another quick, hot, raw shifter romance with some humor and angst expanding on life in Lurton. My guilty little pleasure.

I rec'd a copy through Booksprout. My review is completely voluntary.

Meh. This was fine, but even though I went into this with the correct expectations, it still let me down? It's about a possessive bear shifter meeting her mate, who happens to be a woman who just got out of an abusive relationship. I read the first book in this series, which didn't wow me, but it definitely had less typos and mistakes than this. I swear I try to ignore mistakes in indie books, but I can only ignore so much. To boot, the writing was not particularly good, and I kept rolling my eyes at random stuff. The concept of an "alpha bear" is so silly it's unbearable to me (shut up, I only noticed that after I typed it, and I'm not going to erase it) and the book also did that thing of having the "inner animal" and the shifter talk to each other, which I find cringey. It wasn't even as hot as I expected! I'm shallow enough that usually I'm just like 'hehe big muscly protective woman make brain go brrrr' but idk, other than a couple scenes, this didn't do anything for me. The 'plot', if you can call it that, was pretty predictable, and it really didn't feel like these women got to know each other.

Oh well! It was short and it occupied my brain for a bit. Technically it's more of a 1.5, but I save that rating for books that actively piss me off. This did not actively piss me off.

I didn’t read the prequel, nor do I particularly want to. It’s a cosy, low angst read.

Some parts were good, but I skipped a lot of it. Including the smut. I just wasn’t that invested in it unfortunately. I was just bored really and didn’t care to finish it.

Bear Shifter. Third Person. Dual POV. Fated Mates. Insta Love.

Immersive and evocative….

Pola Prime, a courageous and determined shifter, embarks on a quest to find her fated mate, driven by the longing she feels after witnessing her sister's own mate claim. Pola's yearning for love and connection is palpable, and readers can't help but empathize with her as she navigates the world, hopeful that her destined love is out there, waiting to be found.

Enter Shekita Harper, a fiercely independent woman with a haunting past that has left her skeptical of possessive relationships. Shekita's desire for freedom and self-ownership is admirably portrayed, creating a relatable and complex character. But fate has other plans when Pola and Shekita's paths cross, and the undeniable chemistry between them sparks a journey of self-discovery, love, and healing.

Ariel Marie skillfully crafts a tale of romance and personal growth, weaving together the lives of these two extraordinary women. The author's writing style is immersive and evocative, bringing to life the vivid settings and the emotional depths of the characters. The palpable tension and anticipation between Pola and Shekita as they navigate their newfound connection will keep readers eagerly turning the pages.

What sets Ariel Marie's shifter stories apart is her ability to infuse them with a perfect balance of passion, vulnerability, and authenticity. The raw emotions and intense longing between Pola and Shekita are portrayed with a depth that resonates long after the final page is turned. Their journey from initial hesitation to trust and vulnerability is a testament to the power of love and the transformative nature of true connection.

As a fan of Ariel Marie's shifter stories, I am constantly in awe of her ability to create dynamic and multidimensional characters that captivate readers' hearts. In "Claimed By Her Bear," she continues to showcase her talent for storytelling, delivering a tale that is both emotionally satisfying and exhilarating.

Furthermore, I share the reader's enthusiasm in hoping for Eddie, a captivating Alpha, to have her own story soon. Ariel Marie has a knack for crafting intriguing and memorable supporting characters, and I eagerly await the opportunity to delve into Eddie's world and witness her own journey of love and self-discovery.

I love all of this author’s shifter FF stories!

I previously read about Pola’s older sister Dasha falling for Pola’s BFF Saffron. Well, while this is technically a standalone, I highly recommend reading theirs first because it give Pola’s story more depth where the supporting character’s are concerned.

As for Pola and Shekita, I loved how they showed both stereotypically masculine and feminine traits throughout. They also blended both awkward and uncomfortable with confident and sexy. Shekita has an abusive ex, Bobbi, and you see a little of that on page (TW). I really like how the author gave Shekita the ability to truly see the difference between an abuser who thinks of you as property and a dominant, possessive, yet still healthy partner.

I know I just blabbed on about the emotions, but better believe the spice was 🔥🥵🔥 too…if you’ve read Ariel’s previous work then you know 😉

HEA guaranteed!

Steamy, swoony, and wildly addictive!

Ariel Marie does it again with Claimed by Her Bear! This sapphic paranormal romance is everything I love in a shifter story, intense chemistry, emotional tension, and a fiercely protective lead who’ll do anything for her mate.

Pola was such a lovable powerhouse, strong yet patient, and her devotion to Shekita was genuinely heart-melting. And Shekita? Relatable, independent, guarded, but watching her slowly open up to Pola was beautiful. The dynamic between them felt real and electric.

I loved the supernatural layers woven in, and the pacing was perfect, not too rushed, but not dragging either. Also, major props for centering a queer love story in the shifter world, it felt refreshing and important.

This book had me smiling, blushing, and rooting hard for these two. If you’re into steamy paranormal romance with a sapphic twist, Claimed by Her Bear is a total must-read.

Bravo, Ariel!

3 stars. Don’t look at me but….I LOVE a possessive heroine. Pola did it for me I’m sorry. She’s possessive and protective over Shekita and that shit was hot. I liked this one better than the first book. I liked both characters and the smut was really good but these books need serious editing. It’s distracting as hell how many errors are in this. I liked the plot and that ending confrontation between Pola and Shekita’s abusive asshole ex was really good and made me swoon over Pola even more. If the writing were better this would’ve definitely been a four star for me because it does a lot of things that I really enjoy.

I love bear shifters and fated mates always leaves me wishing it was real. As usual I was excited to see another Ariel Marie book, unfortunately, this one didn't quite hit the mark for me. Dare I say, there was too much focus on sex, not enough on the story and the words were often repetitive. Such a shame because I love this author so can't understand why there seems to be a regression in writing style given the talented storytelling in her other works. Bit disappointing.

This is the 2nd book in the series and we get to see Dasha’s (from book 1) sister find her mate. Pola and Shekitar scorch the pages once they meet. Pola has to fend off a crazy ex if she wants to mate for life. Good book. Enjoyed the world building.

Another good one

We finally get to know more about Pola and she finally finds her mate. It's kind of funny that Pola would find scent her mate around the Lick and Bite. The Lick and Bite has become an important character that is just a building, but an important one. An enjoyable read.

When you find your mate, others beware!

Some people have a tendency to not think clearly, especially when it stares at you and you are so thick-headed that nothing gets through correctly. When someone says no! There is no further need to say nothing but goodbye. Sound familiar? Enjoy!

A good quick read has a predictable plot (not in a bad way), love the concept of bear shifting similar to any other kind of animal shifting story. Mainly came for the smut, got the smut, and was left a happy reader.

It's exactly what you would expect from a book that is 125 pages long and focuses on lesbian shifters. It moves quickly but it was an enjoyable read with a small amount of action mixed in.
