Oh the Gilbert family, how I love them. Laura tells of her heart wrenching, life changing journey of grief and I can testify first hand that she lives it out every day. Knowing her and reading both the depths of sorrow and comfort of God together is simply beautiful. The line that hits me deeply is when Laura tells of David saying “if one person comes to know the Lord because of this, it will be worth it.” The he had and genuine heart behind it is told over and over not only my Laura but everyone who knew David.

She also mentions the organization in his honor. Being a part of that is simply an opportunity of a lifetime. Getting to carry on David’s legacy and see the character live on through is his family is compelling. David’s story is one to learn from.

How could someone I haven’t met impact me so deeply? I can’t wait to meet my brother in Christ in heaven.
