After falling in love and marrying the devastatingly handsome man who had saved her life, Eden soon discovers that her new husband Logan is a Yankee soldier who used her to infiltrate the Confederate cause when he disappears from her life, leaving only a note declaring his love. Original.

The blurb was strong but for me it wasn't executed well. For me it lacked depth in angsty portion. Moreover, it was not clear how Eden helped the rebel it was just mentioned she helped them even I didn't understand her role on board as well because she didn't do anything except looking here and there. I wanted to see desperate yearning b/w the characters after deception which was lacking for me. What happened to the captures like Adrian?? Was he changed or punished?? Beside this how Camille character's was changed sudden. In the end there was no mention of Mark and Connie like how they both loved Logan and ending was abrupt. It was an ok reading.
Back in 1863, Logan was looking for his brother who had been wounded and captured by the Confederate soldiers. Logan was a government agent spying on the Confederate "helpers" to thwart their attempts to smuggle drugs and weapons and ammunition to their soldiers. Besides, he needed to find his brother. When he used the unsuspecting woman, Eden, at the orphanage. He had betrayed her, loved her, and married her, he was a Yankee soldier, she was a Confederate. Could their love be strong enough to survive?
Bobbi Smith is one of my favorites. Usually her stories are full of intrigue and more dramatic instances. This one was wrapped up on a bow rather quickly. The characters weren’t as deep and complex but as always she ties each character together at the end. It was a little too easy for her usual work but still an enjoyable read.
Wow!! This war time love story was intriguing and amazing!! I can see this being a true story and to think of such is heartbreaking! Logan was a true honorable war hero. As was Eden, and together they were perfect even if they fought on different sides of the war.
