Much more informational and interesting than the first one!!! This was a great read. Sadly, it also did nothing to challenge sexism, as instead of honouring and acknowledging women throughout and going through the effort of unearthing women's historical contributions (that have, in fact, existed since the dawn of time) it relegated women to a couple of extra "women's" sections. This was already lazy and sexist in 2007, when this book was published, and it still reads as lazy and sexist today.
I found this book to be funny and informative. I found a lot of lists of names and historical events that I hope to research sometime in an attempt to better understand my faith. Ten Important Lutheran events since the reformation is one list. I am somewhat familiar with the first two entries and the last two entries. I like the fact that the tenth one is your own life and work. Since the book consists of lists of things, it is easy to read and use to find areas that you want to research further.
Gives the basics of what it means to be a Lutheran Protestant in the Christian church today. Tries to be light hearted and humorous, but is not entirely successful.
