Who knew medical school could prove to be so dangerous? Higurashi certainly never expected his education to include this! Asakura Medical School proves to be a place to learn a lot more about the human body than Higurashi ever dreamed of -- or even thought he wanted -- when one of the Asakura family set his sights on him. Higurashi discovers that he just may have set foot into the devil's own infirmary...
I'm a bit surprised I enjoyed this book as much as I did. I didn't know anything about the book, or mangaka when I preordered it, so I didn't know it is set in a school. I don't usually like school-based yaoi because it limits the characters so much: high schooolers (errr, college) with limited experience, surrounded by the same. However, this setting actually is believable as medical school/college, especially since the seme, Asakura , is the doctor in charge of the infirmary, and not the usual teacher or upperclassman. The story begins when Higurashi walks in on Asakura receiving some intimate attention from another student. Before he can rush out to gossip about it, Asakura reveals some embarrassing information he has on Higurashi - Mexican standoff! Asakura proceeds to pursue his reluctant uke, and the sparks fly from there.
The couple is very likeable, and the mangaka throws an obstacle in their way when Higurashi's friend asks him to pose as a boyfriend to avoid the unwanted attentions of an upperclassman. Also, I loved the character of Asakura's mother. She added a lot of humor, especially her interest in her son's love life because she reads gay romance! This is hard yaoi - the sex is explicit, and there is a scene of near-rape that could bother readers sensitive to that. Overall, an excellent title and I hope to read more from this mangaka.
Higurashi went to the infirmary to take care of some urgent business only to find himself as a cell phone background. The school nurse, Asakura teases the not so bright student mercilessly but doesn't do anything deviant until Higurashi puts the moves on him (only to get the cell phone but ends up with a whole lotta nurse in a very confined area) Now before you say ewww, Asakura declares his love and chastity before he plucks the cherry. The rest of the book is a trial of love where Higurashi gets himself in a very nasty situation because he has a pure heart and is a little dim but the nurse arrives like a white knight.
You can definitely tell this was one of those books written in the early 2000s. The artwork is fine, but the story itself could be very triggering for some people. The relationship between the two characters is very non-con throughout the whole book and made me uncomfortable. Even the extra story about another set of characters (which was very good) didn't take away the feeling.
I will admit, though, I would be the Asakura matriarch if I had children.

There's a comment that said this is very much a BL plot of its time period, and I must agree. For a non-con 2000s BL manga, it wasn't that bad. The additional side story was nice-ish. ~3.4/5
2.5 stars only because of the short story included after the main story's completion. Loved the king and his teacher, but struggled to connect to the other two. Some panels were impressively drawn.
