This book is set at the building site, where people come and go, and lots of different things happen. In a day at the construction site of a skyscraper, the various machines and workers do their jobs. At the back of the book are some fold-out flaps with lists of puzzles to solve on every page.

Philippe Dupasquier is an author and illustrator of children’s books. He attended art school in Lyon, France, after which he became a freelance illustrator in London, England.

For his illustrations in Bill's New Frock, he received the Smarties Prize (1989) and the Carnegie Medal commendation (1989) from the British Library Association, and the Oak Tree Award (1990), from Nottinghamshire Libraries.
