Do you know how long it’s been since I eve saw a choose your own adventure book? I was a child. I saw this on the shelf in the house I’m housesitting and I had to read it. This was my cousins when she was a child, it’s now her nieces. It is fun using the hunt for a diamond as its lure. The reader has an aid, a not always helpful fox called Rusty. Regardless of which paths the reader takes there will be similar problem-solving exercises, counting, pathfinding, differentiating. Even as an adult I didn’t get there on the first try, so it isn’t straight forward. Not sure if that is a good or a bad thing, that definitely gives it repeatability. I quite like the art style, it’s fun and perfectly suits the story.
