Samantha Bretton was seventeen when she got pregnant. It was the most confusing time of her life, when outside pressures helped her to see that she was too young to raise a child and too young to get married to Nick Kincaid.
When Nick took their baby girl to raise by himself, Samantha gave up her rights to be Jessica's mother. But now, thirteen years later, Sam needs to see the little girl who—wonder of wonders—is dying to meet her. And Nick—ever-patient, strong, loving Nick—still looks at her the same way. Almost as if he's been waiting for her to come home. He's a man on his own, trying to raise his children. Sometimes he gets things right.
Sometimes he needs a little help...

I just could not stand the cold-bitter way in which h let go of her daughter . Agreed , she is just 17 but how could she ? She didn't even look at her own daughter even when H literally goes on his knees and begs her . Ice-Maiden , I can never believe she truly loved H . H being , just 20 took the responsibility of his daughter , he went against his parents , h's parents and h but he didn't give up his daughter , I think h doesn't deserve him . somehow I could not go past that bitter-cynical-cold prologue .
I love reunion romances and this is a very touching story of young lovers forced to make choices and pushed into decisions they have to live with. Samantha was still in High School when she found herself pregnant to her first and only love, Nick who was at college.
Pressured by her parents and afraid of trapping Nick, Sam gave up her baby for adoption but Nick kept baby Jessica to raise himself.
13 years later, in remission from cancer, Sam wants the chance to see her daughter. When Nick agrees it begins a journey for all three of them through grief, anger, repentance and forgiveness.
I enjoyed this story with it's charming cast of characters including a linked book set immediately prior to this one. There were some very moving moments as you would expect with this story line. It works beautifully with a satisfying ending.
