In Short
- Don't let my rating put you off, this is a good series
- Belinda is a great author and shouldn't be over looked
- The storyline didn't grip me until the end of the book
- I found it hard to get into the steamy scenes.
- The ending is such a big cliffhanger!

In Long
I was excited to read Blood Oath, Belinda has always ended her books with big cliff-hangers so I was eager to see what was going to happen next. I was also looking forward to spending more time with Darcy as I really like her character.

I guess my first disappointment with this book was that I felt like I didn’t get to know Darcy any better which was something I really wanted to be able to do in this book. The second was that I sadly wasn’t as drawn to this book as I was with the first in the series. I really enjoyed the first book because it was so action packed but I felt Blood Oath just didn’t have enough action to keep me entertained at the beginning of the book. Towards the end I felt things picked up much more and I really enjoyed the last 20 or so pages. I felt this really made up for the rest of the book which I felt wasn’t really necessary to the book and storyline.

Another thing, which was an issue for me in Cherished too, was the scenes which were a bit steamy. I just feel like these sort of scenes don’t suit this type of book. I read paranormal books for the paranormal factor, I guess I just don’t like the two things mixed together (paranormal and erotic – Although it’s nowhere near as steamy as proper erotic books). I can see that other people would enjoy this factor as it may help you to get to know them as a couple more!

As I said above, the last 20 pages got my attention and the last page or so totally shocked me. I have to say that even the last page was worth it all for me! I can NOT wait to read the next book! I need to know what is going to happen! What a WONDERFUL twist to the story – Can’t wait!

Final Thoughts
Blood Oath was a good book but quite slow for me. After reading the end I am guessing this was more of a fill in book for what’s about to come next. If you haven’t read this series definitely do so, Belinda is a talented author.

Once again, I am left wishing the stories in this series were longer so that I could just keep reading. Blood Oath has to be the best one yet. I suppose it is some comfort that because they are novellas it takes less time for the author to write them and therefore I won't have to wait as long for the next one as I would with a full-sized novel.

Picking up right where Cherished left off, the story smoothly drew me back into Darcy and Mason's world. Their emotions are not quite as far to the forefront as they were in Cherished, but still beautifully written and very important to the plot. Especially as someone is using Mason's love for Darcy against him. I do love how well they know each other and how they can anticipate the other's responses.

There was some humor scattered amongst the peril and grief for Mason's sister. I enjoyed pretty much any conversation with Devlin. There were also quite a few hints as to the next installment, hints that I can't wait to see elaborated on. I won't tell you what they are so you can read it for yourself. :)

I would recommend this story as well as the two previous novellas in the series to lovers of paranormal adventure and steamy (but still fairly clean) romance.

Blood Oath, the Mystic Wolves novella number three, is a quick and delightful that is emotion and action packed. The end is a cliff hanger that had me dying to know what would happen to our beloved Darcy and Mason. The stories may be short, but in each one I fall in love even more with the characters and setting. I can't wait to read the next installment!

Love the cover too!

4.5 of 5 stars**

Belinda Boring continues her mesmerizing Mystic Wolves series with book 3, Blood Oath. Blood Oath picks up right where Cherished leaves off. Mason and Darcy join a meeting with some of their pack members and the vampire Enforcer, Devlin. The pack and their friends are trying to determine where the vampire blood Gary had ingested came from and determine who was really behind the recent attacks. At the same time, the pack prepares to lay Jasmine to rest. However, an enemy is on the loose and he is targeting those closest to Mason, that includes Darcy. Darcy is kidnapped, and Mason must find and defeat the enemy, before it's too late.

Blood Oath is different from the previous books in the series, there is more taking place, more events. The first 2 books were centered around solitary events or time periods, but Blood Oath spans a few days and multiple different events. The story really continues forward, and the story line changes quite a bit. Just when I thought the story would wrap up a certain way, Belinda Boring throws in a curve ball. I read this novella in one sitting, I just did not want to put it down. I was completely absorbed in the story.

While Blood Oath is a novella, the story line is again fully developed and the book is very well written. I don't think Blood Oath is my favorite installment in this series. Mason's attitude is a little all over the place (with good reason), but I still LOVED this installment and as long as Belinda Boring keeps writing this series, I will keep reading. I love the way each book in this series picks up where the last left off and how the story really keeps my attention.

I very highly recommend this series to paranormal readers. You do need to read these books in order though, so pick them up and start reading!

Romancing the Dark Side Review:

Mason and Darcy are simply spellbinding!

In book two, Cherished, Mason and Darcy learn that their love can overcome any obstacle. Book three, Blood Oath, wastes no time in getting right to the action. While the pack is preparing to say their goodbyes to one of their own, Mason receives a message threatening those he loves. Measures are taken to secure everyone's well being but Mason's adversary proves to be one step ahead of him. When Darcy is kidnapped Mason's inner wolf is ready for battle and will stop at nothing to get his love and future mate back where she belongs.

This installment in the series gives us an inside look at the members of the pack, its allies and their close knit relationships. Mason and Darcy's bond goes way beyond the physical and will melt your heart! Devlin and Daniel are great supporting characters that add a touch of humor and a little spice to the story. Never a dull moment, Blood Oath had it all, emotion, romance, action and a few laughs. Belinda is a natural at writing raw, emotional scenes that jump off the pages and into your heart.

Blood Oath ranks as my favorite in the series so far and I'll be anxiously awaiting for the next action-packed adventure in Mason and Darcy's lives. The cliffhanger at the end left me stunned and wanting more and I know Belinda will deliver! If you're a romantic at heart and love a book with a true Alpha, this is the series for you!

Belinda does it again! I didn't think this series could get any better. I just love these characters Mason and Darcy as well as Daniel and Devlin who give some comic relief to this wonderful tale.

There are a couple moments I actually laughed out loud, okay more than a couple - a certain reference to a certain series as well as making fun of a certain genre, we all love to read. I don't want to divulge more than that because I don't want to spoil it for you. But I laughed so hard.

I cried as well, the farewell ceremony for Jasmine was well written and so beautiful. Those are just a couple of points I can mention. But why!! Belinda! just when I thought everything was fine and dandy and happily ever after then boom, she does it again! Another cliffhanger! One that just nearly knocked me off my chair! Now I must have to wait to see what happens. Write faster please I have to know!

This book is a wonderful continuation to this series and I am going to be waiting on pins and needles to find out what happens next. IF you haven't read this series then I say what are you waiting for! Go do it now !!

Blood Oath is the third book in the Mystic Wolves series and it is as amazing as the first two! While both of the first two books were centered around a single event, this book allowed us to know the characters even more as the story was even more involved. Boring creates characters that just grab you and you can't put the book down without what happens next. Darcy and Mason are not only scorchingly sexy, but they also have an emotional connection that pulls in the reader as well. There was also more of Devlin this time, one of the most intriguing characters, in my opinion. One of the things I love most about this series is that each novel picks up right where the last left off. There is no feeling that unknown events took place between books. I like that because it pulls me straight into the story without any feeling that I missed a thing. She is a genius at leaving you hanging! I can't wait for the next book!

I love this series!! And I am so happy to have heard the news that book 4 will be a full length novel because my only complaint so far is that these books end to soon!!

Blood Oath brought me to tears and made me laugh out load. The story was intense from the beginning. The story will have you hooked. Mason and Darcy relationship is beautiful they are both funny and loving and every second they are together you will cherish. The funeral was incredibly sad and will have you tearing up. I loved getting to know some new characters and seeing more of the pack together.

I don't to give to much away but these are must reads for any paranormal book lover!! Trust me on this you will love these books!!

I just loved this novella! The pairing of Darcy and Mason is so romantic and sensual - a perfect couple. Plus, I'm really intrigued by Devlin, the vampire enforcer and hope we see more of him in the future....(hint,hint,Belinda!) I like the ability of compulsion the author gave the vampires. With so many books about vampires out there,it must be difficult to think of a way to make them unique, but Belinda managed superbly. And did I mention humor? I laughed out loud at the antics of Vlad, the poor doofus,LOL! To top it off, that ending was totally unexpected and left me reeling and avidly anticipating the next installment.

Darcy and Mason . . . Will he ever be able to keep her out of trouble? Probably not. He loves her anyway. In fact, I swear their bond grows more with each episode of trouble Darcy finds.

Another wonderful installment in the series Mystic Wolves, that leaves us hanging. One those endings where you had to go back and read the last pages again . . just to make sure you read it correctly the first time. Only to discover nothing has changed. Now you have the urge to email the author and ask WHY.

A must read!

I could feel the action building up right from the beginning, and it lured my senses right in harder than before.
Mason and Darcy are more grown in this story and it shows. I really like that.
But the intensity of the stuff going on around them is more exciting this time than the actual romance. Doesn't make the romance insignificant at all, quite the contrary. It shows the maturity of the writer to allows us to know the love is still strong but let's focus on other things too.
This is my favorite of the series, but I can't wait to find out what happens next!

I am waiting for Belinda Boring to release a novel length version of her intoxicating Mystic Wolves series so I can spend more time reading about Darcy, Mason and their pack. Mysterious, suspenseful, sometimes sweet and other times hot romance, this series is highly addictive and definitely swoon worthy.

In the previous two Mystic Wolves books, I only gave them 3 stars because there was not enough action and comedic relief for me. However, Belinda Boring has a true hit with "Blood Oath" because it contains all of that and more.

Darcy and Mason are preparing for the meeting with the Vampire enforcer,Devlin. Unbeknownst to them, Devlin brings in another vampire for the meeting. What follows is one of the funniest scenes I've read in a long time. You see, the vampire has named himself 'Vlad' and Wade (one of Mason's were's) goes into a dialogue that left me in tears.

As everyone prepares for the farewell ceremony for Mason's deceased sister, Jasmine, Darcy finally comes to grip with her death. The ceremony is beautifully written and after it is over, Darcy and the guests partake in the repass. Unfortunately, when Darcy goes to the house to obtain cleaning supplies for one of the servers she is kidnapped and a whole new set of problems are about to emerge. I will not say what occurred because I do not want to spoil it for anyone. However, the story line continued to become more interesting by the second. Why? Because is was filled with mystery and action.

One final note, after reading reviews from other readers, I knew that the story ending in a cliffhanger; however, I had no idea it would be so shocking. The next book in the series promises to be very interesting and I cannot wait to see what will happen next.

I read this novella last night and all I can say is that this series does get better! The funeral service for Jasmine is beautiful, but ends in tragedy. Mason has a message delivered to him and the whole supernatural community is in danger of having a maniac in charge. Once the threat is taken care of,life seems normal again, only for the story to leave us off at yet another cliffhanger and is it ever a cliffhanger!!
I think one of the things I like about this series is the fact that the different supernatural beings are all working together to keep themselves secret from the humans, and from each other. I also like the relationship between Mason and Darcy, they are the perfect couple. I'm looking forward to the next book to see how their relationship can handle the upcoming events. Another character is introduced, Devlin, a vampire inforcer, he and Darcy are great friends and he is who Mason trusts to keep Darcy safe while he takes care of some pack business.

This was another book that I wasn't able to put down, it's a good thing they are short novellas because my reading time is normally interrupted by a pretty baby. I definitly recommend this book, the whole series is awesome and I can't wait for the next book to be released.

Blood Oath is the third installment of the Mystic Wolves series. Belinda Boring a fellow book blogger, and an amazing author has taken readers by surprise with her raw talent. Over the past two books readers have followed Mason and Darcy through an emotional and tragic order. After the loss of Jasmine it has finally come time to lay her to rest. As Darcy and Mason try picking up the remaining pieces; new discovers will beg new questions and predict danger for their future. As an Alpha, Mason, is used to danger around every corner; but these enemies just might have the upper hand. I love this series, and always find myself eager to continue the story. This installment seemed a tad slower than the two prior reads, but the ending left me desperate for the next book. Belinda Boring has proven to be an incredibly talented author, and I anxiously anticipate a bright future with much more to read.

I really loved the first two book in this series, but for some reason this book just didn't appeal to me as much as the others.

I did enjoy reading it, and in no way has it but me off the rest of the series. There just seems to be something that I can't quite put my finger on that was different about this book.

Mason and Darcy are both really starting to grow on me now, I like them both as main characters and cannot wait to see what the future holds for the couple.
The ups and downs that they have to go through just to stay together does keep me gripped to the pages.

This is another series that I will be carrying on with as well.

I am really enjoying this series but I feel like the three books that are out could be one book....I wish she would give us more background history on the characters and will also give us books on them...I really like all the characters and I have a feeling if Belinda gave us a little bit more on detail of everyone then this series would give some of the other wolves series a run for their money...I am really looking forward to the next book...

Again I really enjoyed this even if it was quite short! It was fastpaced with the reason for Jasmine's death and the death of Mason's childhood sweetheart being revealed and the pack and their vampire counterparts having to deal with the threat!
