Gabrielle Deangelo is troubled – by an apocalyptic dream in which she resists sexual submission to the Devil himself. Her friend Pandora sees a need in the dream for Gabrielle to abandon her puritan morals if only for one night. Together the girls attend a Halloween costume party with a reputation for crazed decadence. There the angel Gabrielle will encounter a suave horned seducer – red-skinned, with a nice line in chat. Is his presence there a set-up arranged by Pandora? Or is Gabrielle to be ensnared by something darker, something which will confront her with her deepest most infernal desires?
A short story of Gabrielle, an almost innocent young church going woman who's "corrupted" by her friend more than the devil himself. Although he does make an appearance...or does he?
While Gabrielle is no virgin, she's refrained from pretty much anything to do with sex since her breakup a couple of years ago. Her friend, Pandora (love that pun) entices her to attend an "adult themed" Halloween party dressed as an angel from Gabrielle's erotic dream, and tries to get a male friend to dress as the Devil - from the same dream.
Despite things not going quite as planned, Gabrielle does...shall we say..."fall from Grace" and have a more than decent evening...
What I enjoy about Malden's writing is that both men and women are strong characters. There might be an annoyingly innocent flower female type, but there is also a strong, commanding and sexually confident female type as well. Balance: this man knows it. He also has a strong command over the English language. Other male erotica writers, particularly those who are independently published, have a lot to learn - and they can learn it from Jake Malden.
I only gave this a 4 instead of 5 b/c I'd have liked it to be a bit longer, particularly going into the story after Gabrielle's life changed (by no longer attending church, etc).
Gabrielle and the Devil is a short read at about 40 pages. It’s about the almost virginal Gabrielle and her experience with a very devilish figure. The end hints that there are more books to come.
It’s well written with only one typo that I saw. I liked this book because it’s a different take on the Adam and Eve story without being really religious. Lately I’ve really been into fast reads and this book totally fits the bill.
There are sex scenes, so it’s meant for the over 18 crowd. They aren’t spectacular, but they are good.
Overall the story is a light read, with not enough time to really get into the two main characters, but still interesting.
I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review.
Brilliant short story by Jake! The prologue is vivid, intense, and well written, as is the rest of the book. Sex scenes are HOT! The dialogue between the characters is engaging and funny, and I especially loved the ending. There are no slow points in the story line. If you like strong, devilish, male characters dominating and rescuing sweet, angelic women, you will love this!
