I loved this story – I’m was a cheerleader when I was 8 – my brother played football and my dad was the coach for a few years.
We watched it on TV every Sunday and Monday, And then I married a man who hates football *is that possible??*
Reading this story brought back a lot of fun memories from when I was a child. I love the games and the action. Although this story didn’t have a lot
To do with football, being familiar with the “Hot” players out on the field, I could visualize just how big and rowdie the players were in this book.
I am in Love with Ryan and Jake – In this story, we got not only one great story about Ryan and Samantha, but we got TWO fun stories
About Jake and Hanna as well! Awesome!
The story starts off with Samantha jumping back into Sports. She’s a writer for the paper, and she’s good at what she does. Naturally, since her father
Was a sports news writer before he retired, she grew up knowing about the game.
Ryan is the star of the NY Cougars football team. He’s also a close friend of Samantha’s family. He went to High school with her brother. And her father was the
One that called the scouts out to watch Ryan play football and got his career on the move. He went to Notre Dame with Samantha. And even though they both
Had feelings for each other, Samantha was forced to keep her distance because of her writing. Being a sports writer and sleeping with the captain of the football team
Would only cause gossip and chaos to her career. So they kept their distance.
After 10 years, while Samantha was writing news for a paper, she went to Iraq to get a story about the troups. She was involved in a car bombing and went missing for 3 days.
She didn’t want to talk about it. She lived the nightmares every night – What she didn’t know is how Worried Ryan was during those 3 days he sat with the family.
After Samantha decided it was time to get back into Sports… sports were safer (so she thought)
SO headed into the locker room after the game, she gets stopped by the security guards. Being a female sports writer caused her more delays then not. Everyone thought
She was a groupie, So she had to prove herself. She was nervous about seeing Ryan. When he was in college playing football with her brother, he viewed women as playthings.
Sure, he had a great packaging, but underneath the chiseled exterior was a man who hadn’t socially evolved from dragging his knuckles on the ground.
After she got into the locker room, she walked straight up to Ryan. Fresh from the shower with a towel wrapped around his hips. She reminded herself she was a professional journalist and not some love struck teenager.
Ryan bend forward to give her a quick kiss on the forehead, like she was his kid sister. She didn’t want to be his kid sister, but never wanted to be one of his “women” either.
After she asked her questions and moved on to the other players, Jake walks over to Ryan stunned. “Man you’ve got it bad, not that I blame you. She is – “ A lesbian.” Maybe if they believed it the guys would leave her alone. Ryan didn’t want other women – He had talked himself into believing he could treat Samantha like his best friend’s little sister, but that wasn’t going to work with those sex scenarios kicking into drive.
He knew Samantha wasn’t the time for a fling, and he couldn’t imagine himself as the settling down kind. But a woman like Samantha could make a guy re-think his position on the state of matrimony.
Samantha follows the team to an away game, getting out of her cab, she noticed the players getting mulled by the groupies. Mostly slipping their hotel keys in their pockets, or trying to pick them up for a good time.
She knew this, and expected it, but she couldn’t believe her jealousy when she saw a blonde slipping her key into Ryan’s back pocket. Yikes!
That night when she slept in her room, her nightmares from Iraq woke her up. From experience she knew she wasn’t going to get back to sleep. So she went downstairs to the hotel’s gym. Walking in on Ryan who was lifting weights, she waked over to the treadmill to begin her run.
When Ryan took off his shirt , her mind got distracted and she lost her footing and slipping on the treadmill, Ryan was right there to catch her… “are you ok? “ “yes” “Are you sure? Because I trained as a doctor between the ages of 4 and 5” – she laughed “What’s the cure for a bruised ego?”
“This” He leaned his head down and brushed her lips with his in a gentle caress. “Feel better?”
HA! Not even a little bit Things pick up and let’s just say – WOW! I’ll never be able to look at another inner thigh machine the same way again
So now that Ryan and Samantha are having a secret fling, let’s see about Jake and Hanna, Hanna is a model who is Samantha’s roommate. They went to high school together, and after Samantha got home from Iraq, she didn’t want to go home, but didn’t want to live alone. So Hanna took her in. They became best friends.
Because Samantha is a writer for the football team, Hanna knows enough to know that Jake is HOT and she is interested.. They are similar in a way. Being a top model, she has had her share of wine and dine and hot dates. She is afraid of her heart being broken so she never dates more than a few dates at a time. But there’s something about Jake that has her interested.
When Jake finds out that Samantha is Hanna’s roommate, he asks for her phone number. Samantha gives him the “be warned” bout Hanna and gives him the number. Jake asks Ryan what that meant, and he shrugged and said “she’s a man eater”
Ok this is too long. Too much awesomeness in this book! I couldn’t stop reading. I have a ton of quotes that I marked that I wanted to add into this but I don’t want to give away too much .
Let’s just say this book is Great! I loved the sense of Humor.
I loved the friendship between the 4 of them. And I’m looking forward to April 2012 when Jake and Hanna’s story comes out. We got to see how they met, and you could defiantly see the sparks there
