These little Novellas are a breeze to read, in less than an evening I can knock one off!

This second instalment provided a little more depth into the mystery surrounding the murdered girls from 1959, which we were introduced to in book one. I felt the completion of this book was excellent, no cliff-hanger or major unanswered questions like book one, but still enough of a mystery surrounding Patrick and the prophesy that relates to Sophie to keep me going in the series.

I do wish they were novel sized. I am not a Novella convert, merely intrigued and impressed enough by Amy Cross to keep reading - for now.

The Sentinels were an interesting mystery, one that could quite easily have been lengthened and investigated further. Ms Cross has the ammunition for a full-length novel, but by the looks of it, not the impetus. Shame.

Still, great, quick read. I will read the next in the series and this one gets a 6/10: "Good light-weight read, well done" on the NBRS. Why slightly lower than book one? Well, book one hooked me, book two merely kept me intrigued enough to read on. I believe, once the initial reaction to a story is passed, it takes a certain step up by the author to garner a similar score. Sentinel, although good, was not the same as the great of The Last Vampire in my eyes.

I am having to read this book in a bulk… It is all eight book available in one… on my Droid Phone… so I am missing some of the features I have with my nook ereader. But NO ONE cares… because if they did I would be able to get the damm book on B&N. The author has her books only on Amazon which is NOT friendly with nook owners. ugh!

There are these spirit like things that posses a body and they are called sentinels. In this book we learn Jess and Rose’s story and more of the history for the last vampire.

I liked this book and at same time was disconnected as it was sorta hard to connect.

Sophie went to Rose’s brother’s house and he gives her a book / diary that Rose wrote. Later he dies and she meets Adam his grandson who falls-in-love with Sophie. She later learns Rose is still alive / barely and in a nursing home where she goes to meet her and believe it or not … Rose gets up outta bed to touch Rose. The sentinel thingies are in Rose and need touch to transfer to Sophie. Patrick jumps in the window and saves Rose from being touched then rips Rose’s head off.

It was a sorta wacky book.

Meh? This review is for the series as a whole. Had a distracting number of typos and no character development to speak of - just a disjointed series of events happening to an unworthy character. Kept referring to a prophecy but never actually disclosed it or built towards it. Never set out what was special about Sophie. Never explained the wild improbability of the last installment - a perpetually uninterested mother somehow cares enough to commit Sophie for no good reason to the same facility as some unethical doctors who for some unspecified reason insist on trying to give Sophie electroshock therapy? Writing style was easy to read, but I won't get more by this author - very unsatisfying to put that much time into stories that go nowhere in particular.

There goes are girl Sophie getting into trouble. She is being told to not do something but she does it anyway. It's like she's looking for ways to die,,, faster. It was very violent what happened to the two girls that were killed. We got to learn more about that. It was crazy but I liked it. :)
