Though it has been years since I read the other "Little House" books. I remembered the stories instantly after picking this one up. In a time so focused on technology it is hard to forget what it was like before it all. Which is why I think these books are simply wonderful. Upon finishing the book I find myself day dreaming about an afternoon with Laura and Mary on the banks of Plum Creek.

This book is a great little snapshot of the parties that Laura experienced in her childhood. The descriptions are very vivid, and it is easy to picture what is happening in each scene. It is also interesting to observe all the different types of parties that occurred during this time.
