Texas Druids #2

Dashing Druid

Rate this book
Riveting from beginning to end! A real page turner jam-packed with action, adventure and sizzling romance, topped off by a glimmer of supernatural.

Dashing Irish continues Lyn Horner’s unique Texas Devlins saga. This sensual western romance stars Tye Devlin, the eldest of three psychically gifted siblings. Descended from legendary Irish Druids, Tye is an empath. He “feels” others’ emotions. Over time, he has learned to block out most of the “racket” in order to save his sanity, but when he meets Texas cowgirl Lil Crawford, he has no defense against her hidden pain.

Unlucky in love, Lil guards her bruised heart behind a tough façade, working alongside her father’s cowhands. When a handsome stranger with an Irish brogue calls her beautiful, she thinks he’s mocking her, yet she can’t help wishing such a man might truly find her beautiful. Haunted by his own nightmarish memories, Tye faces an uphill battle in his pursuit of this spirited, part-Cherokee heroine.

Set in the 1870s against a backdrop of Texas ranch life and an iconic cattle drive, this epic love story pits Tye and Lil against dangerous enemies and their own feuding families as they fight their personal demons. Will they decide love is worth the consequences? Will Tye’s gift turn out to be a blessing or a curse?

Love will not be denied

This series just keeps getting better. Like his sister, Tye struggles to find a normal life free from his "calling". Lily refuses to let herself fall for Jessie's obnoxious brother. The Devlin's have done enough damage. But fate keeps throwing them together. Cattle stampedes, gun slingers, and families bent on revenge won't stop Lily from claiming her man once she accepts love in her life.

Dashing Irish Book 3!

I am loving this series and this 3rd book is as wonderful as the last one. I enjoyed the cattle drive, felt I was in the middle of it and I don't believe I've read a book with a cattle drive before, so it was very interesting. Wonderful characters and well written storyline. Sexual content, a little more than I like, but still a 5 star book. JudyE

I enjoyed Darlin’ Druid, the first book of this series. Its combination of a solid western romance storyline with a unique twist on the formula, provided by the infusion of a significant amount of the supernatural, was a fun read that was very different. Dashin’ Druid continues the story, this time focusing on Tye Devlin, the brother of the heroine in the first book, and the romance that kindles between him and a neighbor who has a history with his new brother-in-law.

For much of this book, the supernatural aspect of the series felt almost absent; mentioned, but low key and insignificant to the plot. However, the sexual tension between the hero and heroine was so strong that throwing in too much of the supernatural would have felt like overkill. During the later part of the book, the supernatural talents of the Devlin family come more to the fore, as tension of all types increases.

In the final analysis, I enjoyed this book even more than the first. I suspect part of that is that I (and I’m guessing most people) are able to become engrossed in a book easier and quicker if they have already “established a relationship” with the characters by reading and liking a prior book in the series.

Lily (Lil) Crawford considers herself an old maid that no one wants. She prefers to wear britches over wearing frilly dresses. She's a hard worker on her father's Double C Ranch. Lil despices how her family treats. Lil's world is about to change in ways she neither expects or can't ignore either. Tye Devlin, is of Irish descent, trying to escape his path by moving forward into the future. Tye also carries the gift of empathy and always knows what other's are feeling. Tye doesn't know whether to call it a gift or a curse. He seems to prefer the latter. When Tye meets Lil is stunned into near speechlessness. Tye asks for directions to his sister's home which Lil gives but is clearly hurt by him asking this. Tye is reunited with his sister Jessie but strangely his thoughts turn to Lil more often than not. Will Lil ever see herself as beautiful? Can Tye learn a new trade? What will Tye do about his attraction to Lil? Can Lil admit that Tye fascinates her? Your answers await you in Dashing Druid.

I really loved the concept of this book. I learned alot about cattle drives and what it takes to run one. I also appreciated the paranormal aspect of this book. I also appreciated the sense of history thru out the whole book. I look forward to my next reading experience with this author.

Great second book in the series did not disappoint. The book continues the story of the Devlin siblings and there Druid gifts. Tye Devlin is an empath who is careful of who he touches and blocks others emotions as much as possible and is very skilled at blocking others emotions ; until he happens upon Lil Crawford of his way to visit his sister and brother in law in Texas Lil is the f irst person in a long time to break through his barriers not only does he sense her anger buthe also senses her pain deep pain. He can not help himself and finds himself drawn to Lil , though he is warned away from her by his brother in law and her family. Lil is not the only one with issues , Tye has his own,he had left mining and his dream of striking it rich, after a cave in , and the loss of a friend leaving him guilt ridden. Story has some twist and turns but a romance develops.....

This Story is set in Texas in the mid 1800's, Druid powers, romance, gun fights ,rescues and love scenes.

5***** A good fun western romance. Lil has worked with her father on their ranch all her life. Told by a man she wanted to marry that she is a skinny tomboy Lil has no confidence. Tye is an empath this means he tries to protect himself from other peoples feelings. When he comes across Lil deep in mud rescuing a stranded calf her feelings batter through his defences. Tye's sister is married to Lil's neighbour
The man who hurt Lil so bad in the past. the tension between the two ranches makes life difficult in a time when they have to work together. This love story is very different to the first book in this series. Both the lead characters believe they don't deserve to have the happiness others have. We have the excitement of a cattle drive. That encounters Indians, a stampede, a mountain lion and a river in high flood. The people in this story are more stubborn than the cattle. I loved it and will get the third book soon.

I treated myself to the next two books after reading 1st one in the triology and most definitely impressed with whole series that im going to seek more books out by the author now!

Ms Horner certainly does her history.. you actually felt (well I did ) that i was on the cattle drive with Tye and Lil.. and mourned the loss of their friend along the way.

Though the supernatural side was their it didnt play a prompt part of the story. It was more about cowboys, and two people finding their true slef..however different that others may see them
Highly Recommend

The combination of cowboy and Celtic didn't work for me, unfortunately. The dialect-like conversations were too jarring for me in the cowboy setting and I had trouble really getting attached to the characters.

I loved every minute of this book! Didn't realize I was starting in the middle but that's ok. The backstory is explained in a way that they could be stand alones as well. So can't wait to get my hands on the next one.

A balance of historical, romance, mysticism and intense moments this is an epic adventure chronicoling Lil Crawford and Tye Devlin's story.

Bringing to life the majesty and the hardships faced by those who call the western territories home this was also a magnificent love story.
