Lacy Steele has no Christmas spirit. Instead the holiday is a sad reminder of her fiancé’s abandonment and her sister's betrayal. Not only that, but her two friends, Tosh and Jason, have seemingly dropped out of her life. Now, alone and eating herself into oblivion, she doesn't think things could get much worse. And then her mother arrives, Meanwhile a distraction arrives in the form of a mysterious locket with the inscription "I Love You" etched on the back.
It's up to Lacy to determine who sent her the present--her recently discovered grandfather, her best friend, Tosh, or Jason, the self-proclaimed eternal bachelor who fears commitment more than a root canal. Lacy's determined to get in the Christmas mood, even while navigating the emotional minefield that exists between her mother and her grandmother's new boyfriend. With so much on her plate, the mystery locket becomes a source of solace. But the answer of who sent it just might be more than Lacy's fragile heart can take.
Vanessa Gray Bartal is primarily a foodie who began writing when she was unable to find people willing to pay her to eat. She believes everyone deserves a happily ever after and works hard to make it happen, even in a murder mystery.

I noticed this novella when I was getting the 3rd book of this series. This one fit between the 1st and 2nd book, so I decided to read it. The story was sweet, but I'm not sure it added anything to the series.

Not much mystery to this, but another fun read, especially if you have not read the Lacy Steele Mystery series. This book could/should stand on it's own. It is difficult to tell just where it would fit into the series, because it doesn't really follow any of the timeline. However, if you have read the series, you can get some information about the characters that you haven't had before. If you have not read the series, it is would probably fit best after book one, as this does have a couple spoilers for book one. It's a good read.
This book was a nice break from the story line, but left me a little confused about where it fit in. Predictable in part, which was good. I'd like to see the story move along just a little bit, but I'm always ready to start the next in the series when I finish the last one. I'll keep coming back to the author for the rest of the books I am sure
This book was full of wonderful moments and tricky choices. I had been rather annoyed by Lacey and her constant desire to wallow, but we get a much better perspective of what she is feeling. Jason is the guy I am cheering for and I wish Tosh would do something truly annoying and she dumps him soon.
Another fun Lacey Steele book. This girl has two great guys you would love to have her but she just can't decide or rather is not ready to decide. One is a minister and the other is a policeman. They are both great guys and she would be happy with either one I think but is just not ready to commit. I really love this series.
After reading this series of books I can honestly say they are equal to the Nancy Drew stories from years ago. They entertain and make you laugh at the crazy things that happen to Lacy. Excellent writing and I will be encouraging my grandchildren to read them. Enjoy.
This is a between the numbers novella in this series, and it helps explain a bit more about the characters and how they work together. Another great read from Ms Bartal. Read it. You can't go wrong.
Very enjoyable story, missed it when I bought the other books so I read it somewhat out of order. It had a little mystery, involving a Christmas present with some family drama thrown in.
