Although geared towards children, this is an excellent summary of Irish history. The narrative style is engaging. Each chapter has enough content to present a solid summary of the specific period, while not overwhelming the reader.

I read this to my five children. They were thoroughly engaged throughout, although they rightly observed that Irish history is very bloody.
