The Crossroads series is scorchingly hot & blends mystery, suspense & paranormal. All 4 books in the series can be read as stand-alones with the same characters, a happy-for-now ending & no cliffhangers. RAVES "Diablo's Crossroads Shadowland was an incredible story. Rand & Frank are so well developed they feel like old friends. The plot leaves you with the chills as you experience true evil and, then, relief when good intervenes. Hot passion & spine-tingling danger combine with the gratification and sorrow of the ending to produce a tale that will continue to haunt you even after you're done reading. We can only urge Keta Diablo to finish Book Five so we can see what happens next." CataNetwork Reads, 5 Stars. TOP REVIEWER PICK ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ " Shadowland is Keta Diablo's 4th installment in a series of novellas. If you enjoy a dash of the paranormal along with some HOT M/M action this book is for you. Keta Diablo is a great author and Crossroads is a wonderful series. I just wish her stories were novel length because she always leaves me screaming for more!" Top Pick, Night Owl Reviews ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Diablo writes gritty, emotional characters. Frank & Rand aren't on a sweet journey into love but one that leaves you a bit breathless and a bit abused. The sex is titillating and powerful. Their connection is palpable. I love how in each story, the author has upped the stakes for these 2 memorable men." Seriously Reviewed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "The paranormal element in Shadowland is not just ghostly this time but takes on a slightly more frightening aspect. Diablo keeps her readers on their toes & takes Frank's experience to a new level with the haunting at the Hotel Provincial. I enjoyed the intensity of this novella & will be looking forward to any additional stories Diablo might pen that feature this mismatched pair of heroes." Book Wenches ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Another great addition to the Crossroads series. Keta tends to dish it out on a platter, serving it up to give you just a taste with an unexpected twist & leaves you dangling with want for the main course & you haven't even hit on the dessert yet. In this one Frank heads back to New Orleans with Rand to crack the case of two boys gone missing at a local cemetery, only to discover there's more to this that meets the naked eye. What will transpire in this book will get your temperature soaring to unhealthy levels and I'm not just talking about the steaming sex scenes." Four Stars Sidney, Goodreads ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ " Shadowland is the fourth story of the Crossroads series.
Keta Diablo lives in the Midwest part of the United States on six acres of gorgeous woodland. When she isn't writing or gardening she loves to commune with nature. A pair of barn owls returns to the property every year to birth their young and show them off in the high branches of the oak trees. Nothing more adorable than these white fluffy babies with heart-shaped faces. A lifelong animal lover, Keta devotes her time and support to the local animal shelter. Emma LaPounce, a rescued feline, has been her furry companion for the last ten years.
Keta is an award-winning and best-selling author who writes in several genres: Western Romance, Historical Romance, Paranormal Romance and Contemporary Romance. In a past life, she wrote Gay Romance. Her books have received numerous accolades, including RWA contest finalist, Authors After Dark finalist, Top Pick of the Month and Recommended Review from top review sites, and Best Romance Finalist from The Independent Author Network.
Ps: For some strange reason, ghosts often show up in her stories, no matter the genre.
Hold on to the edge of your seat! This novella packs a punch full of action, mystery, suspense, drama and let’s not forget some steamy romance. There’s never a dull moment in the book and I for one can’t wait for more PI adventures from Frank and Rand.
Another great addition to the Crossroads series. Keta tends to dish it out on a platter, serving it up to give you just a taste with an unexpected twist and leaves you dangling with want for the main course and you haven't even hit on the dessert yet.
In this one Frank heads back to New Orleans with Rand to crack the case of two boys gone missing at a local cemetery, only to discover there's more to this that meets the naked eye. The whole ghost story is freakish, keeps you captivated with the added touch of a nun into the mix and keeps your reading mojo going throughout the story. But as it goes with Frank and Rand and it always does, what will transpire in this book will get your temperature soaring to unhealthy levels and I'm not just talking about the steaming sex scenes. This is all your getting on the book outta me. You'll just have to go read it yourself. :snickering:
Now...I think I need to go bang down Keta's door for the next installment of Crossroads before I chew my bottom lip off!
Another good one in the series, although I do need to warn you, there is a severe case of homophobia in this that lands an MC in the hospital hanging on to life. So if that is a trigger for you, please be careful.
Frank’s powers are growing and it’s really starting to annoy him, because the visions are coming to him when he meditates. Now they are coming to him at random times and it’s making things hard. But this next case he takes, is about to make things harder as he learns he has to struggle with powers he’s never known and about to find out how far his powers can go. In the heart of New Orleans, where ghosts are an everyday occasion, Frank has come against one that has ‘kidnapped’ two young boys, who were foolish. And with the help of a nun, it’s a race against time to save these boys and the soul of a ghost. And Rand. And with the help of the ghost, he has to save Rand.
I love New Orleans. I got to visit there many years ago and I love this history. I didn’t get to explore too much because of the circumstances I was in at the time, but it’s still a beautiful place. And I love reading the history of the place as well. So it was fun to read this one and the fact that Frank was having to deal with an actual ghost in this one. Of course, he has to deal with humans too, eventually, but his main task is to deal with a ghost set on vengeance and a nun who is more fierce than her looks let on. She’s got a spine of steel and gives Frank a run for his money in that stubbornness. It’s got some ups and downs with Rand in it as well, as Frank learns he has to compromise and realize what’s really important. Being right and protective or being with the man he loves.
It’s been a good set of books. I’ve enjoyed the paranormal aspects of it as well as the mystery side. Two of my favorite things. Give it a chance and see what you think.

"More than one danger stalks the heroes of Crossroads: Shadowland by Keta Diablo."
Star Rating: 5 Stars = TOP REVIEWER PICK FOR 2010
Frank’s newest case is taking him to New Orleans. This is a perfect time to introduce Rand into the world of private investigating. Unfortunately, the case turns out to be anything but common place. There is a ghost that is more than a century old, two boys who made a big mistake and a pair of young men who hate gays. With evil surrounding them, Frank and Rand must be alert or risk losing it all. Then Frank realizes that he will have to extend himself to save not only the two boys but also Rand, the keeper of his heart.

I got this one as a freebie from Amazon and I wasn't aware it was part of a series. That said, I didn't have any problems following the story, nor did I feel like anything was missing. This was an interesting blend of m/m, paranormal and suspense, and one of the few freebies I have read lately that was worth reading - so it gets rounded up rather than down.
I don't know if this is the last in this series or not, but if it is, it's a good way to end the series. If not, I'm looking forward to more stories with Frank and Rand. Great little mysteries that grab your attention and hold it. Interesting characters and lots of steaming hot man love. :)
