Provides a detailed look at homesteading on the plains including living conditions, education, and social aspects. Illustrated with the artwork of Harvey Dunn which really brings a sense of place and feeling to the book. A very good introduction to the pioneer life for both children and adults.

Just short "from the little house on the prairie Ceres and just some clarification and filling in some gaps. Was good quick read.

Good information on homesteading on the prairie. Most of the information I already knew but learned that Dr Tann did very well for himself financially which I never knew.
