Even when damned by blood there is still a cost of betrayal...
Book Four in the Fated Saga: A Contemporary Young Adult + Fantasy Series … Fueled by Action, Adventure, Destiny and the Eternal Desire to Discover Truth …
After fleeing from the Goblin King, the Svoda step through a new magical portal only to make a gruesome discovery: A devastated habitat, still smoldering, belongings strewn and ruined… but where are all the people?
An investigation ensues to locate the missing persons. However, it is plagued by dead ends, unexplained and dangerous occurrences, as well as unwelcome guests from the Svoda’s magical past. Treasure hunters, called Stripers, who reveal a potentially fatal plot that affects everyone in the magical world.
Colin Jacoby continues his quest as protector of the girl, Catrina Flummer, while Meghan discovers that this girl may be the key to ending this danger the Striper’s warn them about. She makes a decision that will change the relationship with her brother, forever, and finds out that sometimes, playing with fire is the only way to save lives.
Broken (The Vampires, The Magic Stones, The Cursed Child) Book 4 ( A Fated Fantasy Quest )
The continuous story of Colin and Meghan. Colin save Catrina and lean she is a projector. Book 4 of 9. This book tell you how magic was lost in the world, why projectors are feared and what happen in the magic world. OK story.
I like some of this writer's work but I just can't warm up to a novel that begins with a main character attempting to murder her brother and his girlfriend, even if she doesn't succeed, even if the motive for the homicides and the explanation for their failure is magic, and even if other sympathetic characters have agreed that the brother and his girlfriend must die because the kind of magic powers they have will eventually turn toward evil. That's the plot of this book and I'm not going to say I liked it. The writer known as Humphrey Quinn can do and has done better than this.
(Goodreads Reviews of some of Quinn's better stories are coming soon.)
In this chapter of the larger, over arching story, the twins separate from each other. Colin and his girlfriend leave the group. This episode is a stand alone story and can be read as such. More subtleties of the larger story are appearing. I would recommend that the books be read in order to see this. I am enjoyed this book.
This series of magic and more twins are the the biggest part of this series then there are a few more main characters there leader is she good or bad one of there friends has changed not sure wether good or bad the dreams or visions Megan has are bad for him and the other friend or foe but she has betrayed her twin what happens next
I will never give more than three stars when a book ends in a cliffhanger. Really don't appreciate it at all. There were several mispellings and incorrect pronouns also.
The fourth book in the Fated saga. Suitable for children and young adults. The twins find out the Svoda have unexpected connections with another group of magic users that evolved after they all split up and they try to blackmail them into giving up the Projector. Betrayals end up with the twins splitting from each other. A good continuation of the series.
This was the fourth book in the jacoby twins adventure s as you know if you have been reading the series in order. In this book chaos abounds from the moment the group steps out of limbo and hikes to their new home in the valley. Caterina is still being protected and hidden by Collin who is falling either under her spell or head over heels in love. Jae officially makes some type of deal with one of the ban on to earn him the respect of his father but instantly regrets it. Ivan and Meghan s lives become more intertwined as she moves back in with the queen to assist her. Meanwhile in the real world realm Sebastian has been summoned and when he responds is shocked to discover who it is that has called him and the information they give him contradicting everything he has been told and trained to do he has been raised to befriend and betray the twins this new information confuses Sebastian and he knows he must help not only Meghan but Collin also. While the gypsies are in the valley they are attacked by creatures called strikers who claim to have information on the group who passed through before which evidence suggests were either killed or ran out without their possession since the meadow was burning when the gypsies arrived. Eventually the two groups are reunited after a battle now will they stay together will they separate? Will they finally go home? What of Collin and Caterina who had barely escaped with their lives when the queen Meghan betrayed Collin? Will Collin ever forgive his sister? Will Sebastian be able to help or will he betray his life time friends also, read on friends read on. I definitely recommend this again to readers who enjoy books like Lord of the rings or Harry potter the series has proven entertaining
this book starts off quite different from the others, as we enter a scene that is quite shocking, not gonna go into to much detail as it could spoil it
this is also a short story but i feel sets the scene for what is coming...
meghan is practising her skills at magic and firemancy and is with the head of the svida gyspies for training
colin has a secret, he saved a girls life, he found her in a glass coffin in the goblin kings lair and now he is back in the gypsy camp keeping her hidden by invisibility, only a few people know she is in the camp, but what is her story and why was she left by their/her people?
and who are the strange apparitions coming out of the forest surrounding them demanding that they hand over the magicant book and the child with the amazing powers...plus why is the svidas magic weakening...
does it all tie up with this girl or is it something else...
a betrayal is coming and who will survive
oh this book is clever, keeps you reading right to the end, wanting more
Omg even though this saga is for young adults, I being 31 Love Love Love this whole saga! It keeps you on the edge of your seat, I just got done reading the 5th book in the saga and I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sad that the 6th one isn't out yet Im going to go through with drawl:o( this whole saga is what I read while passing time at work some of the books I couldn't stop reading and ended up reading in just one day. I have even recomended this saga to my young nefew, I hope that oneday that some director or producer would pick them up and make a movie:O) they would be so awesome I often wonder while I'm reading the books who I would love to see play some of these characters.
Having secretly brought Catrina with them, Colin hides her in the new place they have gone to. Finding a ruined town, the Svoda worry about what happened to the previous group. Meghan moves in with Juliska to learn more about her Firemancer powers and to help Juliska. But, is the Banon to be trusted? We learn that Sebastian has always known about magic and who the twins were and had been sent to pretend to be their friend in order to one day betray them. Ivan and Jae both continue to hide their mysteries and someone needs to stop things before a dreadful future occurs.
I really liked the fated saga series. To be honest the first book was just alright but I strongly suggest giving this series a chance. The story gets much better in the rest of the books. I couldn't put Broken down and finished it in 1 day. While the series was written for a younger generation, it is still a great read for adults too. I would recommend this series to fantasy fans and especially if you enjoyed Harry Potter.
I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title. (Audible Membership)
Another destination, but this one is to a campsite that shows signs of destruction and mayhem. Where the former residents were is unknown. So, the drama continues, with mystery of missing group, the identity of the silver haired girl and why she had been left in a glass coffin. Plus a whole lot more, best read or listened to by way of the author's words mith, than my poor synapses.
I'm not sure where this series is headed but broken and betrayed would be a fitting description for this particular book. There's always hope in the distance. I feel like you have to read this book to continue the series but it's not high on my favorites list.
Be warned, I thought this was a 7 book series but it is fact at least a 9 book series.
The 4th in the series. As with the first books, the plot is intriguing, but the characters are sometimes 2-dimensional. I would have given this 4 stars except for the typos and grammatical errors that are rather jarring. Even so, after I finished this one, I went ahead and purchased the rest in the series- 8 total. We'll see if the author picked up a good copy editor.
just like the first 3 I wasn't let down..But mind blown at the thought of who really is the "one"..And the other plot twist, can't wait too see how that plays out..But I wouldn't trust Juliska any further then I can throw her..Seems Meaghan only has one person to really trust..But can she? Can't wait to read the next book..
I really liked the first three books, but this one just tell flat. The beginning was weird, and the book itself was extremely short. It felt as if there was no resolution at all, simply more questions and problems. There were some grammar issues as well: repeated words, missing words, etc. For my clean readers: includes violence.
Great series! Very entertaining. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. Although this series is written for the younger generation, readers of all ages can enjoy it and be entertained. I wish the books were longer, but have thoroughly enjoyed them.
More things are happening than I can keep track of. A lot of people I thought were the bad ones are turning out to be the ones who helped. Enjoying the story more and more.
