In spite of a brief experimentation early in their relationship, Doc and Carrie Baumgartner have since maintained a monogamous marriage without too much difficulty or even temptation--until now.
A move far from home, coupled with new friends and long hours away from each other, have left the young Baumgartner couple on shaky ground.
Doc believes bringing in someone "new," like they did early in their relationship, might add just the spice their marriage needs, but Carrie isn't so sure about that plan.
Doc has a surprise Christmas present for his wife anyway--but in an ironic twist, he discovers she has one for him, too.
Each gift allows the Baumgartners to rediscover, in the true spirit of Christmas, an expansive love that includes not only their feelings for one another, but the ability to share their passion.
Selena Kitt is a NEW YORK TIMES bestselling and award-winning author of erotic and romance fiction. She is one of the highest selling erotic writers in the business with over two million books sold!
Her writing embodies everything from the spicy to the scandalous, but watch out-this kitty also has sharp claws and her stories often include intriguing edges and twists that take readers to new, thought-provoking depths.
Her books EcoErotica (2009), The Real Mother Goose (2010) and Heidi and the Kaiser (2011) were all Epic Award Finalists. Her only gay male romance, Second Chance, won the Epic Award in Erotica in 2011. Her story, Connections, was one of the runners-up for the 2006 Rauxa Prize, given annually to an erotic short story of “exceptional literary quality.”
After reading the first two books, A Baumgartner Christmas provides nothing new at the FF and the FFM department. It is stuffed with the same dirty talk, with exactly the same phrases repeated.
Even the foursome scene was boring, I expected more. And switching is not my preference anyway. Let alone all the unprotected sex, unprepared still unbelievably enjoyable , or when Doc arrives at Key West and he doesn’t even wash his hands after his flight and before jumping into bed with the girls. Okay, maybe I have a slight OCD issue about hygiene, but all these things ruined the erotica - therefore the book - for me.
Oh, and Wilson’s cock tattoo – much ado about nothing.
Spoiler Ahead This was a short quick Christmas read from a very kinky author. Doc and Carrie Baumgartner love to experiment in their sex life with other women. A move far from home, coupled with new friends and long hours away from each other, have left the young Baumgartner couple on shaky ground. Doc believes bringing in someone "new," like they did early in their relationship, might add just the spice their marriage needs, but Carrie isn't so sure about that plan. This was a really hot book with a lot of hot sex f/f/m, but the book was light on story. Danielle who is their new neighbor is bisexual like Carrie they have some afternoon fun. This book was well written with no errors in spelling or grammar. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.
So I wasn't sure how I felt about this one at first. At first, I was thinking Doc was being sort of selfish by suggesting to Carrie that if she wants to, she should go ahead and have sex with another woman. I mean, he'd get benefit out of it too, right? And Carrie IS bisexual. But it seemed like he was suggesting too "loudly", which I think is how Carrie was feeling, too. Did he want Carrie to engage other women SO THAT he'd have someone new to screw around with, too? And I thought it was a little skewed that he had no trouble with her going after Daphne, but a little trouble with her being aroused by his friend Wilson.
But then once he brought Wilson for Christmas in the Keys as a sort of present for Carrie, I realized he just wants her happy and wants to give her as much pleasure as she can stand. And the fact that she brought Daphne for him... I guess they're just very "giving" people? I imagine you have to be incredibly secure in your relationship with your significant other to give him/her someone to screw. And despite initial appearances, it seems that Carrie and Doc are completely secure in their love for each other. Like they can separate the pleasure with someone else for what it is... temporary pleasure. But they'll always have each other.
Carrie and Doc have been monogamous since their marriage and their failed menage with her old roommate turned born-again Christian, Maureen. But Doc brings up the possibility of getting busy with Carrie's new best friend, Daphne. Carrie thinks she's not enough but she can't deny that she has an attraction toward Daphne herself. It then goes into Carrie and Doc eventually opening up their relationship and becoming the polyamorous couple we know and love.
I liked how this dealt with the feelings and sometimes the insecurities that people in relationships can go through when deciding to open up their relationships. Of course it was super-smokin, with lots of M/F, a good bit of F/F, and if you can believe Carrie finally got some M/F/M action! That was a nice surprise.
Anyway, I love the Baumgartners, and I loved this. I look forward to more of their adventures.
The only thing that could have made this quickie better was some Wilson and Doc action, alas, plenty of ff action though.
Another Baumgartner tale from early in Doc and Carrie's marriage while Doc is still in his residency program and Carrie is at loose ends. She's attracted to her friend Daphne but is a little gunshy after her foray in ff sex with her college roommate, Maureen that didn't end so well.
Tattooed Wilson, who is a fellow resident gets thrown in the mix via Doc's invitation and ends up in a ménage à quatre (no mm action). Just a nice little Christmas tale.
4.5 stars! This latest installment would be chronologically just after Meet the Baumgartner s. A Baumgartner Christmas could be read as a stand alone, however I personally feel you would enjoy the story more if you read Meet the Bamgartners first. Mainly, because knowing the characters prior to this story helps the reader to understand the dynamics of their relationship.
This book explains how Carrie and Doc decide that bringing other people into the marriage and into their bedroom is the right thing for them as a couple. Selena does an excellent job of portraying the guilt that Carrie feels for being attracted to other people, and the worry she has that Doc wants to include another woman because she's not enough for him. As always, the sex scenes are fantastic. I can always count on Selena for a great read, and this is no exception.
This was another filling, heated, and steamy read by Selena Kitt. I've enjoyed getting to know these characters and seeing whether story takes them and this petition was just as over-the-top in the best possible way. If you're looking for a story that is well-written, enjoyable, and definitely pushes the boundaries of it, then this is a great book for you!
I couldn't put it down, and I definitely look forward to reading more of the series soon!
I spent a pleasurable morning catching up with the Baumgartners. I do love Carrie and Doc's open relationship. They love each other fiercely but are willing to share that love and open their hearts to others.
A Baumgartner Christmas is a erotic story in the Baumgartner series by Selena Kitt. In this story, we learn how Carrie and Doc started adding others into their relationship. I love this series, mainly because of Doc. Wow, he's incredibly HOT.
Doc & Carrie are still super hot for a married couple. I liked this exploration into them beginning to open up their relationship - prompted by Doc but ultimately led by Carrie. How nice to have such conveniently hot and available friends like Daphne & Wilson to help kick things off! Ha. A highlight: never expected to feel so aroused by a scene revolving around a temporary tattoo. Creative in the best way. I did roll my eyes a bit at the extra sweet HEA for everyone at the end, but okay. I hope in future books there's more conflict around the sexual escapades.
After their brief experience inviting someone into their bed, Doc is certain that it's exactly what Carrie is craving. Carrie struggles with understanding her love of Doc and her growing attraction to her friend.
But with Christmas around the corner, the Baumgartners are all about giving, but Carrie never expected the surprise that Doc had in store for her.
*Features m/f, f/f, f/m/f and f/f/m/m scenes - Panties will be soaked.
This is a short fast read and just like the other Selena Kitt books lots of steamy sex. Carrie and Doc have continued their adult games but only with each other ever since their wedding. No extra partners at least in the beginning even though Doc has encouraged Carrie to explore her lust for women. Doc does have the hots for Carries new friend, but he is behaving himself. Carrie's friend seems to be having trouble finding a man that she finds acceptable so Carrie and Doc play match maker with one of Docs co-worker one whom Carrie has the hots for. Things really heat up when the Baumgartner's take a holiday trip to Florida.
Wow!!! The “hotness” continues ….A Baumgartner Christmas, the 4th book I read in the B’s series has changed my idea of Xmas forever!!!! And the HOT & FAB COVER!!!!!
Doc (please can’t I call him Stephen???) and Carrie are still the most exciting, scandalous, sexy and hot couple around………and I just looooooove finding out more about their very unusual!!! And interesting!!!! Life…at least their sex life……there’s not much else one wants to know about the “normal” everyday chores!!!!!!!!
Doc & Carrie deciding to be monogamous!!!!!!!! That is a stretch……….is that ever possible????? You right….NOT FOR LONG………and soon rather than later, they get back to bring some new and exciting fun into their lives!!!!!
Did I like Daphne & Wilson??? I can’t make up my mind …..just thinking about a tattoo on a man’s penis took some serious imagination!!!!!!!! I preferred Dani from the Plus One book…found her more interesting and sexier and engaged more with her than Carrie’s NEW girlfriend.
So, the most exciting present that Carrie & Doc give each other for Xmas is …HOT & EXCITING of course!!!!
The sex…lots and lots of it as it is expected, is sizzling and smoking HOT. One question I asked myself…..why not Doc & Wilson doing each other and with Carrie & Daphne. Could have been interesting to see another dynamic in the B’s relationship….after all, if Carrie can be bi, why not Doc??
HONEST REVIEW REQUESTED So lets say this book is HOT!!! Lets see you have F/F F/M/F and partner swapping technically swinging between two couples. Doc and Carrie are married now and they have moved on. Carrie has a new friend named Daphne and Doc has a friend named Wilson who doe snot look the doctor part which I love about him. He is all tatted up and is an individual. Doc and Carrie will be spending xmas in Key West at Doc's family home daphne is alone and Carrie suggest that she comes along. Carrie is attracted to Daphne but is scared that she may scare her off if she tells her this..SO DID NOT HAPPEN. I can't give away the whole book so go get it!!!
Takes place between meeting the Baumgartners and Baumgartners plus one.
Carrie and Doc are having a relationship trouble in their marriage. Most of it is Docs crazy residence hours but Carries attraction to her best friend Daphne puts stress on. Also Docs friend Wilson is starting to look hott, well at least the idea of discovering what he has tattoed on his....
Look forward to m/f, f/f, a menage of three n four. No male on male touching but the men enjoy the women even as they enjoy each other.
I really enjoyed this Christmas story. The Christmas theme is light and more focused on Carrie and Doc finding what really works for their marriage. It’s full of sexual excitement and anticipation, brimming with new experiences and finding that what really makes their relationship work is the communication and trust these two have for each other.
Great short novella. Very sexual hot. Carrie and Doc agree that maybe Carrie needs something else in her life and they both hit on the idea that her friend Daphne might be what will spice up things for them. Also, Doc has a friend named Wilson who is on the rebound and he thinks if Carrie is not interested in Daphne that she might be a good match for Wilson. The mix ends up as a menage and they all seem to be pretty happy. The Baumgartners have a great sexy Christmas.
Carrie and Doc are now married but now they feel the need to somehow get their spark back in their marriage . both give each other a present for christmas . as to what that may be well you will have to read the book to find out now wont you . also who is Wilson and Daphne and can these two get together or not also find out by reading to see if they do .
This was the last of the Baumgartner series for me to read. Yeah I know I read them out of order some how. I'm a little sad that I have now read them all. It feels like I know the whole Baumgartner family and I am going to miss them. What an amazing series!
Wow! Just Wow! Seriously, Wow! I am now officially addicted to the Baumgartners. Selena Kitt writes steamy, sensual and oh so HOT stories. This book as well as the rest of the books in the Beaumgartner series was well-written. It is a quick and deliciously sexy read.
Well, this story was pretty hot! I still stand by the conviction that a married couple taking on other partners seems to cheapen the vows somehow...but, again, the married couple in question seem to be happy with the arrangement, as do the other people joining in the fun...so who am I to judge?
Selena Kitt does it again, A Baumgartner Christmas is the best Christmas present you can give yourself. You really can't go wrong with this series. The Baumgartners are very open to sharing which makes their fun in the bedroom really HOT!
Not my favourite, only because of the hesitancy on Doc's part. I know he always says he will do whatever he needs to for Carrie, but it seemed as though he wasn't completely happy with the Wilson situation. That made me uncomfortable, and I have never felt that with the Baumgartner's before
